ScoutBeautiful spot on Orcas Island. Do be aware there is a ferry ride and you need a reservation and it can be expensive depending on the size of your rig. Water and 30 amp electric. Clean bathrooms and showers. Cute café and the best sunset on the island.
ScoutThis is a fantastic camping spot, easy access for a smaller vehicle. There is a downed tree that would limit any sort of large vehicle pulling in there. Easy access to the stream/water. BE BEAR AWARE, by keeping food stored in your vehicle. Had a young curious black bear that wandered through both nights I was there. Other than that, no issues whatsoever!
GuideI had the great fortune of being here off season, and there were very few fellow campers. Many campsites are right on the water and there is a great mix of car camping and walk-in sites. There is a group site, and some short hiking trails. The beauty is the beach and water and the amazing night sky. The pit toilets are clean and it is a laid back place. During the busy season the beach sites would be tight. Very few van/trailer sites so pay attention to the website because it has everything g you need to know.
TravelerThis campground is very close to Forks. Great for Twilight fans. The sites have a picnic table and a fire pit. There are restrooms and campsites vary by camper type. tent, RV hiker/biker sites.

Scout10 out of 15 sites were available on Labor Day weekend Saturday at 4pm. No reservations - it's just show up, put $15 cash in the box, and claim your campsite. Perfectly adequate car camping with a picnic table, fire circle, and access to pit toilets.
you can still hear road noise from the main road, and barking dogs in the morning from a nearby dog sanctuary. Beautiful rhododendron brush covers the space between sites.
ScoutThe Navy carrier jets train out here, for hours on end, you can’t hear someone next to you speak when they’re overhead, and it’s one after another. To top it off, some dipsh@t did the grand finale flight of the evening, around 11:30 PM, so low over the campground they lit up the inside of the tent.
Without the jets, this would be a great spot. Beautiful scenery, plenty of trails and beaches, well kept, but the constant interruption of any moment of peace makes it worthless unless you’re deaf and don’t mind the ground vibrating routinely when they fly over.
LegendWe stayed here for a short overnight as we made our way up the Olympic Peninsula to Port Townsend. Nice park with a some trails right from the campground. We enjoyed the Maple Valley loop. There are elk at Dosewallips but we didn’t see any. Some road noise from our site (21) and heard a low-flying helicopter in the morning. Shower water pressure was a bit low and the water not hot enough.
