Best RV Parks & Resorts near Ferndale, WA

RV parks near Ferndale provide a range of hookup options and site configurations for travelers. Norwest RV Park offers full hookups including 50-amp service and is open year-round with pull-through sites for easy access. The Cedars RV Resort in Ferndale features spacious gravel pull-through sites with full hookups, a store, and hedges between spots for added privacy. Advance reservations are strongly recommended, particularly during summer months when coastal locations fill quickly. The Cedars RV Resort maintains laundry facilities, showers, and a small market on-site, while Norwest RV Park in downtown Ferndale has level sites at reasonable prices according to reviews. Thousand Trails parks in the broader region require membership for discounted rates and offer amenities like pools and recreation areas. Winter travelers should note that while most RV parks remain open year-round, Friday Creek Campground operates seasonally from May through November, and some facilities reduce services during off-peak months.

    La Conner Marina RV Resort

    Decent Level Sites

Nice location conveniently located near the Marina, close to everything.

Premium sites are double wide and have a spot to park your RV AND Vehicle. Discount for Good Sam Club members.

Premium Sites $55 before discount (back-in only) Pull-through Sites $55 before discount Regular Back-in Site $45

All sites have Full Hookups, Picnic table & a minor grassed Area.

We stayed in a Premium site, enjoyed the view of the Fields behind us. Extremely quiet, open, not dusty. Downside, people don’t pick up after their Pets. We have two Shelties & think of others so we’re not the Culprits…

Otherwise, pleasant overall. Laundry accepts cards only which is extremely convenient since coins are hard to come by.

5G t-Mobile is 5-stars at our Site, it’s not listed as an option yet.

Hidden Village RV Park & Campground

Great price, very nice manager lady.

I rented a long term space here for over 2 years while working in Washington. Price was by far the best around. It's a very good sized place with spaces to accommodate even the largest trailers. Even when full there's room to maneuver.Full hookups, wifi, bathrooms, shower, laundry room, swimming pool. Has seperate parking for boats, utility trailers etc. Lots of big trees around for a fair amount of shade. Is pet friendly. Manager lady is very nice. Has a separate non power section for tents or dry camping. It's not the fanciest but for the price is great.

    Washington Park Campground

    Anacortes Camping

Great medium size campground surrounded by saltwater, short trails, and grassy picnic areas. Great views of islands and sunsets. Boat launch with large paid parking area. Walking distance to Skyline Marina for a variety of ocean activities. We went on a whale tour and encountered atleast 10 Orcas. Campground can be muddy in some spots. Mostly reservations, 14 day in advance, but there a a few first come first serve sites. Some with water and electric. Motorhome, trailers and tents. Some spots looked like they could handle 40 foot rigs. A couple longer pull throughs. Very shelterd anthrough. Not much good for solar. Showers and restrooms.

    North Whidbey RV Park

Clean, well organized RV Park for big rigs

We called early afternoon and asked if they had a space for that night for a fifth wheel with total rig length 53ft. Nice grass around all the campsites, 50 Amp electricity, water and sewer. Picnic table at every site. Lovely location but it can be noisy due to proximity to road and navy jets. Overall a great place I will stay again.

    Rasar State Park Campground

    Spacious Getaway

We just spent two nights cold weather camping here. It’s a beautiful quiet park with very spacious lots. There is not a lot to do besides hiking, but if you are looking for peace and quiet in the woods, this might be the ticket.

    Riverfront RV Park

Inexpensive and great for a one night

30 amp sites with water. Dump station was not on site. No showers but clean bathrooms. Traveling with friends and we were the only 2 RVs there except for a campground host. The host helped our friends replace a pin on a slide out.

    Fort Casey Campground

    A different experience

We have camped here a number of times, usually during the winter months. It has been almost 3 years since we were here and a few changes have been made. You used to be able to snag one of the standard campsites (no hookups) by driving in, selecting one then paying. Now, they all all registration year round.

There is some noise here from the Coupeville-Port Townsend ferry that docks here but it is only every 1.5 hours during the low season. We like to watch the ferries and they don’t make that much noise. But, this is near a major Naval Air Force base in Oak Harbor. Apparently a few new squadrons were brought in a few years ago. For over two hours, we were treated to intermittent but frequent LOUD jets flying close to the ground. We both had headaches and our dogs were upset.

We have a pop up truck camper so, yes, of course, we can hear more noise. We do not have a TV so can’t drown it out. I am just hoping this was where they fly Wednesday. If you have a larger solid RV, you may not experience that loud dull roar. At least they don’t break the sound barrier.

We paid $20 for site 6. This is a standard site, meaning no hookups. Full hook up sites are available for more. There are flush toilets and potable water. The only faucet operating currently is the pump spigot as others were shut off due to frost. Each site has a fire pit and picnic table. The sites are level with gravel surface. There is a grassy area for tents and to play games. There is no privacy but there are beaches to walk on and views of several Cascades peaks and the Olympic Range. This is a good spot to camp awaiting the ferry for the next day or you could walk on to explore Port Townsend which has a historical town center.

    Deception Pass State Park Campground

    Cozy campsites !

There were SO MANY available campsites when we got there. About mid afternoon. The ranger was super friendly and welcoming! The bathrooms were nice and had showers that require tokens that you can buy with your site at check in. The sites vary in size and shape but most of them are decently private/ spaced apart. The site next to us never got booked, probably because it was small, but it was nice for us because it was only a few bushes away. Sites include a picnic table and fire ring with grill grate . There was a trail to the beach not far from us and it was super nice. Although there are plenty of signs that require dogs to be on leashes most people did not adhere to those rules, so keep an eye out if you're bringing the doggos. Very family friendly, very cozy, very nice stay!

Located 15 miles south of the Canadian border with elevations ranging from sea level to 450 feet, the region experiences mild marine-influenced temperatures year-round with average summer highs of 73°F. Winter camping requires preparation for rainfall averaging 35 inches annually and occasional snow between November and February.

What to do

Beachcombing at Birch Bay: Access tide pools and shoreline views just 15 minutes from Ferndale at Beachside RV Park. "Quiet little beach town that is golf cart friendly. We stayed over the July 4th holiday, and it was packed but not over the top," notes SpentBrassOffroad B.

Kayaking in protected waters: Launch from camping areas with water access for paddling opportunities. "Kayaking? That, too, of course," says Jan K. about the "unbelievably warm waters of the shallow Birch Bay" located across the street from Beachside RV Park.

Mini golf and outdoor recreation: Some resorts offer on-site activities for families. At Thousand Trails La Conner, a camper notes, "Bathrooms are kept clean, mini golf is fun, and the walks to 'Lone Tree' at sunset are amazing."

What campers like

Privacy features: Thoughtful site design enhances camping experiences at The Cedars RV Resort in Ferndale. One reviewer appreciates that "there are trees between every camp spot to add privacy."

Shower facilities: Free shower access matters to RVers. A Cedars RV Resort camper highlighted that "Best part is that the restrooms are clean and the showers are free."

Level sites: Ease of setup ranks high on camper priorities. At Norwest RV Park in downtown Ferndale, one camper appreciated the "small spaces but they are level and the price is right!"

What you should know

Seasonal operations: Not all facilities remain open year-round. Friday Creek Campground operates on a limited schedule as one camper notes: "Only open May-Oct!" This facility offers proximity to ferry terminals, about "15 minute drive" according to Kate K.

Limited tent camping options: Some RV parks provide minimal accommodation for tent campers. At The Cedars RV Resort, a visitor reported: "If you are camping with a trailer or motorhome, this place is great but it is not for tent campers... just a big open grassy area with picnic tables and fire rings but no distinguishable separation between sites."

Wi-Fi limitations: Internet access varies widely between facilities. At some parks, "Wi-Fi available at the lodge only and very slow," as noted by a camper at Thousand Trails Mount Vernon.

Tips for camping with families

Pool access considerations: Swimming facilities vary by season and maintenance schedules. At Thousand Trails Birch Bay, "Our nephews came to visit and enjoyed the pool and small nature trails around camp. There is a lot to do around town all within biking distance."

Guest fee awareness: Some resorts charge for visitors. A Thousand Trails Birch Bay camper expressed frustration about "having to pay $10.00 for our guests just to park their cars by our campsite!!"

Kid-friendly amenities: Look for campgrounds with recreational options. One visitor at Thousand Trails Birch Bay appreciated that there's "Lots to do here on site, but get out and explore the town. You're sure to have a good time here."

Tips from RVers

Site selection strategy: Experienced campers recommend specific site locations. At Thousand Trails Mount Vernon, one RVer observed "There are a limited number of sewer sites you can get on a wait list for" and "a few sites that are reserved with a permanent sign, for RV's larger than 35' which is nice."

Utilities maintenance awareness: Infrastructure problems can affect stays. At Thousand Trails La Conner, a camper warned in June 2023 that "dump stations and all campsite sewer hookups are down for maintenance. Nearest offsite dumps are 10 miles away."

Road condition considerations: Access can be challenging for larger rigs. At Thousand Trails Mount Vernon, a camper noted "There are a few hills that might be a problem for larger Class A's with a trailer" and "the roads and sites are gravel, but seem to be maintained."
