Mountain biking: Kingdom Trails network offers pet-friendly camping with direct trail access at Camp Kiki. "This campground is drive in and never touch the car again. Two huge sites that can be rented in tandem as a group site. Each site has a prep table, picnic table, fire pit, 5 gallons of fresh water, a raised platform for tents, and a porta potty."
Stargazing: The region offers exceptional night sky viewing with minimal light pollution. "My husband and I really enjoyed stargazing at night. There was so little light pollution that we woke up during the night thinking that someone was shining a light outside, but realized that it was just the moonlight. We loved seeing Jupiter!"
What campers like
Clean facilities: Brighton State Park Campground maintains high standards of cleanliness. "Great campground with VERY clean restrooms. Campsites are private and the place is often not busy affording extra privacy." The attention to detail extends to site maintenance as well: "They rake the sites after people leave so everything is neat and tidy and as flat as possible for your tent."
Wildlife viewing: Loons are commonly heard and seen on lakes throughout the region. "A beautiful cozy little park with allot to do for the whole family, we went late to see or hear allot of loans but we still heard some we'll definitely be camping here again!" Many campers specifically mention enjoying the loon calls as part of their experience.
Remote atmosphere: Maidstone State Park offers a secluded camping experience. "Very remote. Nearest town about 45 minutes away. Beautiful site- Shadblow. No cell service. Loved it... pretty far away though." This remoteness contributes to the peaceful environment many visitors seek.

Seasonal conditions: The camping season runs primarily from Memorial Day through mid-October, with peak visitor times around holidays. "The sites are $30 per night (tents) and $40-$45 I believe for RV/Campers. There are a lot of people who have RV's parked there year round and come seasonally."

Swimming options: Lakeside Camping provides good water access. "We have been coming here for the last 14 years together, and my husband since he was a baby. Lovely small quaint town and beautiful campground. The beach is the best! Not overcrowded. Great place to go kayaking, jump off the dock, or go search for the log!"
Hiking with kids: Short, accessible trails can be found at many campgrounds. "Near by are all sorts of awesome hiking trails. Boreal forest. THE best. Some of my favorite photos from hiking, and the trail names/maps are below. The Moose Observation Platform is no lie. We saw one, crossing the road right by it when we were about to give up!"

Site dimensions: Kingdom Campground offers spacious sites for larger rigs. "We are here with 34' fifth wheel. No cable, and only PBS over the air...... Oh well, did I say this is great for a quite getaway!!!!!" The newest sites are particularly accommodating for larger setups.

"The first thing that happened is you go over the train tracks to go to the office to register and you have to turn your rig around to go to Riverside which the sites are extremely small had a 42 foot fifth wheel and took me 15 minutes to get set so I could disconnect."
