What to do
Waterfront activities: Little River State Park Campground provides excellent paddling opportunities on the reservoir. "Canoeing or kayaking on the lake is great and there are paddle only sites available. Some of the best sites are up on a bluff with views over the lake a towards sunrise," notes camper Miccal M.
Mountain biking: Lazy Lions Campground sits close to prime biking terrain. "Though they are nearby to Millstone Mountain Bike area, there is little else to do here," mentions reviewer Miccal M. The Millstone trail network offers technical routes through abandoned quarries.
Explore historic sites: Little River State Park features remnants of an abandoned settlement. "The hiking trails are really good--they're actually pretty steep. There are lots of old foundations hidden on the trails that are fun to discover," shares Rita M.

Tips for camping with families
Activity options: Sugar Ridge RV Village provides numerous family-friendly amenities. "We stayed here and were VERY happy! Dog friendly, mini golf, heated pool, two playgrounds, and crafts and fun things for the kids! We truly enjoyed this park," reports India H.
Water features: Look for campgrounds with swimming options during summer months. "The reservoir was beautiful. Took the kayak, only issue I had was getting to the lake. Most sites up on hill looking over lake, not easily assessable from camp site," shares Cindy L. about Little River State Park.
Playground access: Campgrounds with play equipment offer additional entertainment. "The facilities were clean, the small playground was great, and the small boat launch and beach kept us in the water," notes Rita M. about Little River State Park.
Tips from RVers
Site dimensions: Cannon Mountain RV Park offers compact spaces. "The sites are narrow, a little bigger than a parking space, especially because of the trees in between the sites. We stayed at site four. Site seven looks to be the best because no trees on one side lets you have some room," advises Cathy G.
Hookup details: Many RV campgrounds in the region have upgraded services. At Smugglers Notch RV Village, "They offer a variety of different sites to fit each campers needs, a beautiful well kept bath house and a small but well stocked store. The sites are good size and come with full hookups," notes Alan B.
Connectivity: Several campgrounds offer internet access. Smugglers Notch RV Village "also has great WIFI," according to Alan B., making it suitable for remote workers needing to stay connected.
