Best RV Parks & Resorts near Fountain Green, UT

RV parks surrounding Fountain Green provide a mix of full-hookup options and site variations to accommodate different sized vehicles. Rollin Home RV Park features wide pull-through sites with grass dividers between spaces, while Jones High Country RV Park in Nephi offers economical rates at $25 per night for Good Sam members. "Long wide pull-through, with grass dividers. Two service centers to pick from make setting up easy," noted one traveler about Rollin Home. The Manti-La Sal KOA maintains 104 sites with 50-amp electrical service and remains open year-round, accommodating big rigs with pull-through access. Canyon View RV Park in Spanish Fork provides water and electric hookups in a parking lot configuration with limited spacing between neighboring RVs.

Cell reception varies significantly between locations, with strong AT&T and Verizon coverage reported at Canyon View but more limited connectivity in canyon settings. Water pressure can fluctuate between parks—Rollin Home RV Park users recommend using regulators due to high pressure. Most facilities provide sanitary dump stations, though accessibility varies; Canyon View's dump station requires portable waste tanks rather than direct RV connection. Seasonal winds affect several parks, particularly in mountain transition zones. During peak travel periods, especially around holidays, advance reservations become essential as parks with quality big rig access fill quickly. Pet policies generally allow dogs at most parks, though breed restrictions exist at some locations, with Blue Cut RV Park specifically banning certain breeds including Pitbulls and Rottweilers.

    Canyon View RV Park

Just a parking lot, but in a beautiful park/awesome walk/bike trail!

First come, first serve, dump station on site(back of parking lot), friendly camphost; great access to an awesome bike/walk trail, close to town& Walmart

SITE: Water and Electricity only and all amenities worked great. All sites are back in and spaced in a large parking lot. Picnic table per site in the shade under the trees by your site; level site; all concrete; the sites are close together, but it wasn't full so the RVers thoughtfully spaced out from each other; full sun

CELL SERVICE: AT&T worked great- not all bars but it worked well for use working remote and no issues with video calls using our hotspot.

OTHER: Located on the edge of Canyon View Park. The park had just closed as they prep for their annual Christmas light show, but you could still walk on the trail through the park to access the main bike/walk trail which was awesome and goes on for many miles! We loved using this everyday we were there. Bathroom in the park was really clean. Dump station is in the parking lot(super convenient) on the back side. It was super gusty, windy at night and consistent every night from about 11pm- 10am. Maybe it's just seasonal? Make sure your awning is in!

Painted Rocks Campground — Yuba State Park

    Big rig friendly

There is not much to do in the area and the lake is seriously low, but it is a great place to park for a night or two if you want peace and quite and you have a big rig. We have a 42 ft motorhome and a separate pickup with a 6x12 trailer and we fit both in a pull through sie and it looked like there was another 40 feet available. We were in campsite #2 but it looks like there are other sites that are quite long. The site was level with water and 50 among power.

    Tie Fork Rest Area

    Good Off-Highway Rest Area

Large almost level paved parking area. Good modern rest rooms. Good picnic tables with displays behind rest rooms. Dedicated dog area. Bring ear plugs due to big rig generators and infrequent train horn. Several RVs and big rigs parked here during my overnight stay.

    Lakeside RV Campground

Great access to Provo & Utah Lake

Lakeside was our home for 3 nights while we were in town for Provo’s annual Colonial Festival. I really loved the proximity of this campground to Provo City—12mins to downtown, and the incredible tree coverage here. This campground is beautifully shaded and quite enjoyable for spending time outside on the grounds—even in July.

Across Center St. and behind a field is Provo Airport which is home to (I think,) smaller aircraft as they are audible from the campgrounds, though not excessive. To the west of the campground, separated by a fence is the Lakeside Storage Facility that houses a TON of petrol signs, gadgets & a few vehicles— a free, outdoor museum of gas station memorabilia from a different time. The north side of the campground is surrounded by a quite large river that you can access by a hiking over a large dirt berm. Although this area beside the river is not maintained by the campground, there are stairs in one spot and a couple of foot trails that can take you to the top of the berm. Here you’ll be able to walk along a narrow trail along the river, nearly across the entire north side of the grounds.

This campground is VERY tight knit, as most of the spots don’t have much of a yard and if you have slides you need to be careful not to hit anything. I feel we got the worst site on the grounds— J1. Our 30’ rig hardly fit in the spot and made it difficult to park our truck every day as well as making it difficult for vehicles to pull their rigs behind our spot, squeezing behind our trailer bumper and the fenced dog run. Our yard was also the smallest there, about 2’ at the widest point, narrowing to points at each end. This pull-through spot was the worst part of our experience, but I would definitely like to return.

The front office staff is incredibly kind and accommodating. I’m fairly certain that we could have swapped our spot if we had asked to do so. We used the dog run & playground nearly everyday and stopped by the pool and store a couple of times. This campground seems very well cared-for and was so enjoyable to us that we would return—however next time, we would attempt to reserve a specific spot rather than take the chance at once again landing on J1. All of the sites on the north side of the grounds (purple back-in,) looked wonderful; shaded & quiet, and a few of the sites in the east/ middle side of the grounds like B12 looked wonderful. Most of the end sites in the middle of the campground had a much more enjoyable yard-area. Had we not booked so near Independence Day, we may have been able to request one of these more “premium” sites.

I think we’d like to camp here again when we have friends or family camping with us, we can request a larger site and spend some wonderful summer evenings under the huge shade trees.

    Payson Lakes

    Remote, Quiet and Beautiful

Located in National Forest at 8,000 ft with lots of sites, many of them pull through with fire rings. Lots of trees for privacy and, when we were there 8/25 - 8/27, were the only ones other than the camp hosts. Brought bikes and there were ample riding areas. A couple miles up the hill at 9,000 ft the views are truly spectacular. Continuing over the 38 mile scenic highway is well worth the drive with sheer drop offs demanding full attention ending in Nephi.

    Millsite State Park Campground

Nice, quiet, very small SP with scenic views of the lake and canyon

We have a 36’ Class A with a Cherokee Trailhawk tow and stayed in site MI08 for 3 days in mid June. We left our boondocking site in the Grand Staircase-Escalante NM to get electric and water hookups because the temperatures were climbing into the 100’s in the area. The sites are nice, but closer together than most SP CGs, although the pull-through sites are angled, so you’re not looking in your neighbor’s windows and there are some trees between them as well. AT&T coverage was fair, with 2-3 Bars of LTE service and speeds up to about 2 MB/s. There were a few tall trees at each of the sites, but there were gaps between them, so we were able to get DISH coverage on all three western satellites at our site. There were zero OTA channels to be had with our fixed omni antenna.

Oasis Campground — Yuba State Park

    Good location for rockhounding

Stayed here when rockhounding. Work remotely so needed cell service and this place has good verizon LTE. Nice large sites, BBQ and campfire pit. Shaded picnic area. Super windy at night, not sure if it’s the time of year or the norm. Late october - winterized for the season so no potable water or flush toilets but there’s still vault toilets.

What to do

ATV trails access: Several RV sites near Fountain Green, Utah provide convenient access to popular ATV trails in the Manti-La Sal National Forest. At Manti - La Sal KOA, guests appreciate the proximity to outdoor adventure opportunities. "The community in Mt. Pleasant and nearby Fairview is like from an old movie; old yet gorgeous," notes one visitor who enjoyed exploring the surrounding areas.

Fishing opportunities: Utah Lake State Park, accessible from several camping areas, offers fishing for channel catfish, walleye, and white bass. "We were able to walk to Utah Lake via the state park," reported a camper at Lakeside RV Campground, who also discovered "an interesting collection of old gas station signs, pumps and other road-memorabilia along the way!"

Mountain biking: Castle Gate RV Park provides access to mountain biking trails in the Price area. A reviewer mentioned: "Stayed here a weekend to get in some mountain biking in nearby Price. Everything in the park is immaculate, and very well maintained." They noted this area was "a new favorite place to avoid some of the Moab crowd."

What campers like

Spacious sites: Campers consistently mention appreciating the roomier sites at certain campgrounds near Fountain Green. At Rollin Home RV Park, a guest noted: "It had nice large sites, very clean. This is a new campground so the bathrooms weren't done yet, but the hook ups and sites are level and have clean picnic tables and green grass at every site." Another camper highlighted: "Wide and long pull throughs were asphalt, more than enough room."

Clean facilities: Campground cleanliness ranks high on visitor appreciation lists. One camper at Castle Gate RV Park commented on the bathroom facilities: "We did not use the restrooms but took a peek in and they are all clean and look new." Similarly, at Nine Mile RV Resort, a recent visitor praised the overall condition: "The sites are very level with full hook ups and great wifi. We will definitely come back on our way to Moab for another night stay."

A visitor observed, "This place is very cute for established camping. It has lots of trees and a nice little walking trail."

What you should know

Weather considerations: High desert climate creates significant temperature fluctuations. Castle Gate RV Park visitors advise preparing for summer heat and winter cold: "In April, still a bit chilling in the evening/morning. Warmed up nicely in the afternoon."

Pet policies: Jones High Country RV Park welcomes pets but has specific requirements. "Friendly owners. Check in was a breeze. $15 for a tent site sounded good to us, we were exhausted," mentions one camper. Other campgrounds like Blue Cut RV Park prohibit certain dog breeds.

Seasonal availability: Campgrounds in the area have varying seasonal operations. The Manti-La Sal KOA remains open year-round but experiences reduced services during winter months. One visitor advised: "The campground is well maintained and clean with lot of trees for shade. The camp spots are plenty large with all the amenities anyone would need regardless of RV size."

Tips for camping with families

Walking trails: For families seeking easy outdoor activities, several campgrounds offer dedicated walking paths. At Buckhorn RV Park and Resort, "They offer spacious pull-through RV spots, luxury cabins and Tipis(Teepees), as well as tent sites and a group area for rent." This variety accommodates different family preferences and group sizes.

Playground access: Lakeside RV Campground provides playground facilities on-site for children. A visitor noted that in addition to the playground, there are "2 small dog parks one for large and one for small dogs," making it suitable for families traveling with pets.

Noise considerations: Families should consider noise factors when selecting camping locations. Lakeside RV Campground sits "directly next to the Provo airport which did get active around 6 am," according to one reviewer. Similarly, Castle Gate RV Park has nearby train tracks, though a camper noted "they went by slowly and infrequently."

Tips from RVers

Water pressure variations: RVers staying at campgrounds near Fountain Green should come prepared with pressure regulators. A camper at Castle Gate RV Park mentioned, "Their water pressure is outstanding in fact they recommend a pressure regulator on the supply line."

Site selection strategy: When booking at Rollin Home RV Park, experienced RVers suggest requesting sites with mountain views rather than those facing the office. "Beautiful views if you pick your spot wisely. (So office isn't out your back window instead of the mountains)," advised one RVer.

Connectivity considerations: For those needing to stay connected, Nine Mile RV Resort offers "great wifi" according to visitors. Similarly, a guest at Lakeside RV Campground reported being "dazzled by the speed and reliability of the wifi," which allowed them to complete work during their stay.
