Our lot #46, had a brand-new picnic table and fire pit. Easy access. There is much to do, and live entertainment and events. We visited beautiful Bob Sandlin State Park and explored Mt. Pleasant, which had much to offer. Never a boring moment yet peaceful and relaxing.

The facilities were great. Clean and well kept. The site that we stayed at (#34) was too close to the main road and the noise from the cars was so loud, which led to an awful nights sleep. Also there was a cat (seemed like a camp cat) that roamed around all night and that freaked out my dog. The lake itself was fantastic and otherworldly. Absolutely beautiful in early November. Definitely gonna visit again but will not camp here.

The food truck food is not good. I got sick from eating food from there. Ted stores food in freezer without covering it up with lids. One of the park host was showing pictures. I saw the pictures and he also showed other park host. He is not a good park host. Do not ever let him borrow any money because you will never see it back. Do not put a bad review on Facebook because you will get blocked off there page. It's sad that's how they run a business.
TravelerI've never seen anything so unique and beautiful as Caddo Lake!! Like being in a movie! The State Park campground is immaculate, staff and hosts are super friendly. Fishing, kayaking, canoeing, boat tours, walking/hiking trails, awesome! Nearby historical town of Jefferson was a quaint day trip or artists, shops and eateries. What a trip! Can't wait to revisit Caddo Lake and all its beauty!

Staying at Buckhorn for the weekend. The campground is small, serene, and well maintained. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. Some of the waterfront sites have a deck to sit and relax on. The park is very clean. We are enjoying relaxing here.

Do not go- booked 3 nights only stayed 2. Only 3 years old, most sites not level. Adult pool is small and dirty. First day lazy river was not running-second day barely moving - had to push ourselves along. This is a new campground that is just getting up and running. The sites are all large and shaded with a picnic table and a fire pit. Our site was also a full hookup site as was the site of our friends that also came with us. They have a camp store and a laundry mat and a couple of small hiking trails. There are several other amenities coming. The only con is they will move you. I don’t care if you picked that spot out for a specific reason (as I did) when booking, it likely won’t be your spot when you check in. I find that annoying, but that’s literally the only con. The staff was nice, park clean, and shaded sites. I did not go to the restrooms (if they even have any) to tell you how those are.
TravelerOverall had a great time with four other families on a long weekend. You will need a little side to side leveling for many of the sites. The burger I had at the restaurant was good. Others in our group liked their food as well. Adult pool with the swim up bar was nice and had good service. The lazy river was slow as others have mentioned, but that’s why it’s a “lazy” river. All of the staff was friendly. Will visit again.

Friendly staff clean site, showers that are nicer than home. Each site has a shade tree but other than that, not much shade.

Made a reservation via telephone for two days a month in advance, but was not given a site number.When we pulled up to the office there was a note with a telephone number to call, but no answer. I saw a gentleman walking around and it appeared he saw us. After waiting about 10 minutes, I decide to driver further into the park. The gentleman I saw earlier was one of the owners/ managers, I would would have expected him to go to the office to meet the newly arriving guests. I will say that he was friendly enough and later, his wife stopped by to collect the fee and she too was friendly. The park itself has full hook ups and is on the banks of the bayou. The campground require you to sign a waiver because of the water moccasins from the bayou and because of the potential of falling tree limbs. The. Campground is pretty sandy so leveling may be problematic for big rigs. The do allow long term guests to store all kinds of equipment and gear, the site next to us look like a junk yard. Our fellow campers seemed friendly enough with the gentleman on the other side from the junk yard introducing himself.

Once again our timing was great as this state park was only about 1/4 full. Sites were level and as with most SP's, plenty of room. Nice wooded park, lots of deer and a nice island to hike on. Power plant isn't all that bad, but then again we weren't right on the water where you would be able to hear it more. Nice facilities.

We drove from NWArkansas the end of January to purchase a conversion van in Tyler, but towed our 19-foot Coleman camper just in case the van didn't work out, at least we'd have a nice camping trip! We stayed in a pull-though space (#340) which was large enough for our Tundra, the Coleman, AND our newly acquired 2000 E-350 Sportsmobile Van.
The campsites were quiet (except for our dogs, who loved the racoons and deer...sorry!!) and well maintained. Beautiful walk around the lake to watch the sunrise. The facilities are standard state park facilities...everything worked. One toilet was a mess, but that wasn't the rangers' fault. One would think women would be more mindful of the mess they make.
Note that the gift shop isn't open on Tuesday/Wednesdays, so if you want a head badge for your walking stick, you can purchase one at the ranger station CASH ONLY. Highly recommend this park.
