I stayed for 4 nights from a Thursday through Monday. The owner is very nice and helped me with choosing a drive thru site. It is well maintained. Mix of long term and short stay resident s. It is near a busy arterial highway so it's not especially quiet. The hookups worked great. I was two spots from the very front of the park. I used Passport America pass for my first 3 nights. I felt safe. It is very pet friendly. Keep dogs on leash and clean up after them. I have 3 black labs. No fenced dog park yet, so I drove them to the city park with tennis courts every morning to run free. I will most likely stay here again. I mostly boondock in the forests, but when I need a place to resupply and take care of business needs, this place is very nice.
I was on my way to boondock at Lake Quitman West Dam. I called ahead and was told I could use the designated dump station near the back of the museum at the park. It was 5 dollars. The water spickit didn't work which was an inconvenience.
I stayed down on the lakefront for 7 days. Only 2 campers besides me. Room for many many more. Fish jumping! Quiet at night. I was here in March 2022. No bathrooms, so be totally self contained!
I found this location because I needed a free spot for a few days for a medical appointment. It is within about 5 miles of Mount Pleasant, TX. Not far from Walmart, Home Depot, and other shopping and restaurants. It's primitive boondocking, but pretty nice and clean. Psrk next to the Water. Boating, fishing, BBQ, and group camping is allowed. Pet friendly on leash.
Great campground for a short stay or longer occupancy. Easy to get in and out. Full amenities. This is an older campground that is being upgraded in progress. The RV sites are double sized and pull through. Wifi is available and there is a cell phone tower across the street, so its terrific 5g signal. There is a small laundry room and a shower house. There is a catch and release pond, and walking spaces on the back acreages and piney woods. It is quiet and friendly. The owner is very helpful and approachable. The sites are level. The nearby area boasts a small grocery store with gas station for gas and diesel, post office, oil change/brake shop, high school ball fields and tennis courts, as well as nearby pizza and Mexican restaurants. There is a terrific steak house within a 20 minute drive. Doctors offices are conveniently located near the Post Office too. I recommend this park as a home base for nomadic RVers. Any questions, just ask. The property has lots of fire ants and chiggers, so stay on paved areas.
