    Hidden Lake RV Park

    Quiet

We stayed here as an easy close spot to Ford Arena Softball Fields. Literally 3 minutes there. It's a small quiet park that has a few full-time campers. A small lake with free use of canoes and peddle boat available. A laundromat, bathroom and showers are on site; all very clean. Some of the sites are quite close with little shade. Most all have level concrete pads and full hookups. We stayed in site 30, which is a pull through large enough to accommodate big rigs.

    Rainbow's End RV Park

The Escapees HQ at Rainbows End

If you are a full tie RVer you have probably heard of the Escapees. The Escapees is the largest mail forwarding service and the clyb caters to full time RVers. Livingston TX is their main Headquarters, they do have 2 other semi Headquarters in FL and SD. If you are a full timer you now you need a domicile address and a mailing address for many things, this is how we do it. They have over 17,000 subscribers to their mail forwarding service, we are one of them. We stopped by this July to get our domicile done, vehicle registration, drivers license, voter registration etc. It was hot we will not come back in July again.

The campground is split into 2 main areas. They have a lot of deeded lots for you to buy which has houses, motor homes, park trailer or just roof for your RV. They have long term areas, overnighter, short long term, weekly or daily. You do not need to be a member of the Escapees to camp here, but we hear in the winter it does get full.

Camping full hook ups, electric and water, or just dry camping. They have just got some new internet on the area we were camping in and it was good enough to stream. They have a pool, clb house, activity center, 2 laundries, meeting rooms and a lot to do even in the summer. Most site are fairly level most gravel but do have some concrete pads. If it wasn't so hot I am sure we would have enjoyed it even more. One nice thing is they have a care center, areas that you can set up your RV and if you have something wrong with you they will help you out, take you to Drs, provide meals, help you. This is nice for us older folks that we worry about what happens if we need long stay for treatments and we have no home base.

Grand Pines of Texas RV Resort

Three Years New Campground with a Great Staff and Extra Amenities

I was surprised this campground had not been reviewed.  We stayed here in Jan '24 on the way to Houston for business.  Grand Pines is located on I-10 southeast of Beaumont TX.  Sites are all full hook-up, back-in concrete 60' x 20' leaving room for us to park our tow car. Grand Pines has high speed WIFI and free laundry facilities.  Grounds were well kept when we were there. Sites are a bit close together. They may now have more long term usage than transient. Still, it is a great stop over to catch up on domestic duties.

    Alligator Parish Park Campground

    Clean and quiet

Stayed one night in 30 ft travel trailer (May 2,2022) and we were the only campers. There were other visitors/fisherman but quiet and peaceful. Restrooms clean and spacious. Shower was separate and locked but host would unlock as needed. All 7 pads are gravel, level, elevated above grass—helpful after hard rain— and would accommodate large rigs. Lake or old river course 100 plus feet from campsites. May bring kayaks next time. Road access is good and signs to guide you. One bar cell service. Each site has sewer but not conveniently located—near entrance to site and would require very long hose or require rigs to block access road when dumping This park happened to be along our route to another campground and not along major highway. Nice place to relax overnight or for few days.

    LIMIT: 14 days

Group day use facilities with shelter, boat ramp, dump station, gate house, camp host, flush toilets, playground, covered picnic table, accessibility, pull throughs, fish cleaning table, pedestal grill This campground is the best COE campground that we have visited. It is very well maintained and extremely large. Sites are very nicely spaced out. The cons: fire ants, deer flies, and mosquitoes. Pros: Well maintained, beautiful, peaceful, fishing, boating, trails. Love site 36 There is a free fishing pond for the exclusive use of children and individuals with special needs. It is stocked with catfish and rainbow trout. There are even trophy largemouth bass released in the pond by local fishermen. If you catch "the big one" please practice "catch and release" so someone else might enjoy. There are four well marked trails that meander through old growth hardwood forest. You will see huge southern magnolia and American beech trees. The trails are color coded and there is a very nice map available from the gate house.

This COE campground should be a benchmark for all other COE campgrounds. We will return.

    Vinton RV Park

Easy to Access, Great for Overnight Stop or Long Term

Only $375/mo for Long Term, All Utilities Included, Free Wi-Fi and Free Laundry!

We were heading back to Texas after Spring Break and needed a quiet, easy stop for the night. Vinton RV Park ended up being a perfect fit for our family. It’s right off I-10, super easy to find and book, and felt peaceful the moment we pulled in. At first, we had looked at a few other parks online that looked a bit more“luxury” in the photos, but when we got here, we were honestly surprised—in a good way. The amenity center here is actually really nice and has more of a resort feel than some of the other places nearby. Our boys had a blast riding their bikes around the park. It’s a big property, and we felt totally comfortable letting them run around since it’s well off the main road. There's even a gate at the entrance, which adds an extra layer of peace of mind(it was open when we arrived, but I imagine it gets closed later on). All in all, it was a great family-friendly stop, and we’ll definitely keep it on our list for future trips.

    Rainbow's End RV Park

    Good Travel Stop

This park is owned by Escapees RV Club.  We joined Escapees for the benefits, which include discounted camping.  We've stayed at this park several times, particularly when in the learning process for our new RV, as there is a lot of support here.  A lot of full time RV'ers use Rainbow's End as their home base, and a lot of full timers stop here for long periods of time while moving across country.  I always learn a lot from these long time full-timers.

The sites are decent, with gravel driveways and full hookups for both 30 amp and 50 amp.  They have an area for dry camping as well. are not level, so be sure to bring your leveling blocks if your rig does't have a leveling system.

There are a couple of bath houses and laundry facilities.  The bathing areas are kept clean and are spacious, but nothing fancy.  There is a swimming pool which is open in summer, but we've never used it.  They also have a weighing station, although I never used it.  Propane delivery is available once a week.  Sign up in the office if you want to get on the schedule.

What to do

Fishing opportunities: End Of The Road RV Park offers waterfront access with complimentary aluminum boats for guests. "Shaded Waterfront RV spaces and fully furnished cabins. Quiet, safe, and peaceful park. Wifi, 90ft dock, and aluminum boats free for residents. Excellent fishing," notes one visitor to this tranquil setting.

Music entertainment: Triple Creek RV Music Park provides a unique camping experience centered around bluegrass music. "This is a cool site. They have plenty of full hookups available. Pavilions and buildings for gathering to enjoy jam sessions, whether playing or listening. Kids love dancing to the music," shares Jeremy C.

Water recreation: Several camping locations near Silsbee offer lake access for swimming and boating during warmer months. "A small lake with free use of canoes and peddle boat available," mentions a reviewer about Hidden Lake RV Park facilities.

What campers like

Clean facilities: Hidden Lake RV Park maintains well-kept facilities that campers appreciate. "I was very impressed with the cleanliness and convenience of this park. Highly recommend!" shares one camper, while another notes the "laundromat, bathroom and showers are on site; all very clean."

Spacious sites: Many RV parks provide adequate space for larger vehicles. As Douglas T. notes about Gulf Coast RV Resort: "Very nice lady called prior to our arrival to ask if she could charge our card so she could prepare the packet. When we arrived it was all ready and maybe took 5 minutes. Didn't use baths or laundry. Park was clean, plenty of length for our 42' 5th wheel and truck."

Recreation amenities: Campgrounds often feature additional amenities beyond basic camping. One visitor to Boomtown USA RV Resort shares: "Absolutely love the atmosphere. Super clean grounds. They have the original camp grounds and then the newer expansion area. There is a pool and hot tub in the expansion as well. VERY clean grounds and a nice and updated game room and laundry facility."

What you should know

Road conditions: Some campgrounds have challenging access roads. A reviewer cautions about Triple Creek RV Music Park: "If you like back country RV life and Bluegrass then this place is for you. I highly recommend you attempt to get there without your RV first. The road is mostly dirt and sugar sand and is extremely rough. I would call it minimally maintained."

Site spacing: Site proximity varies significantly between parks. As Lynn N. points out about Gulf Coast RV Resort: "This campground has alot of older people that live here. Has a pool, a dog run. The sites are fairly close together, cannot have a fire 🔥 at all unless it's in your grill. All sites are pull through, with full hookups."

Weather considerations: The Silsbee area experiences significant rainfall which can affect camping conditions. After heavy rain, some campgrounds experience flooding issues. One camper at Hidden Lake RV Park noted: "We came after a great big rain so there was a lot of puddles but it was not bad, the sites were muddy and so was the grass."

Tips for camping with families

Recreation options: Boomtown USA RV Resort offers family-friendly amenities. "They have everything you need for a great family vacation," says Amber G., while another camper mentions "a beautiful clean pool. The lake has really great fishing and there is a small swimming/beach area."

Safety features: Security measures vary between parks. Dayanis P. appreciates that at Boomtown USA RV Resort, "Camp sites are paved with either pull-through or back up. You have to have codes to enter the gates and they have cameras around the property for safety keeping."

Location convenience: Cat R. found Hidden Lake RV Park ideal for specific family activities: "We stayed here as an easy close spot to Ford Arena Softball Fields. Literally 3 minutes there. It's a small quiet park that has a few full-time campers."

Tips from RVers

Hookup quality: Rainbow's End RV Park receives positive feedback for its services. "The sites are large, either grass or gravel and offer full hookups which we appreciate being it's Aug. - warm & humid," notes one RVer. Another mentions, "We stayed in site 91 and highly recommend this side of the park. All sites here were very level and we did not have any trees over us. Ours was a pull through site."

Site leveling: Prepare for uneven terrain at some camping areas. Brian C. advises when visiting Triple Creek RV Music Park to "Bring lots of leveling blocks." At Rainbow's End RV Park, an experienced RVer notes that sites "are not level, so be sure to bring your leveling blocks if your rig doesn't have a leveling system."

Cell coverage: Signal strength varies significantly throughout the Silsbee region. One camper at Rainbow's End RV Park warns: "If you have Tmobile cel phones or hotspots, this is not the RV park for you. We barely had cel phone reception, and our mobile hotspot was all but useless. Verizon works well here."
