Description
K-Bar 2 (KB-2) can accommodate 2 vehicles*, 6 people, 4 horses. Maximum length vehicle is 30' *NOTE: A trailer is considered a vehicle for site capacities.
Primitive roadside sites offer nice views, solitude, and a small flat gravel space to set up camp next to your vehicle. No shade, toilets, or other amenities are provided. The use of generators is prohibited in the backcountry
You can now obtain a backcountry permit to use these sites up to 180 days in advance through www.recreation.gov

Directions
K-Bar road is located 2 miles east of the Panther Junction Visitor Center along the road to Rio Grande Village. The gravel road passes an old ranch house (now a research station). KB-1 is one mile from the pavement, KB-2 is at the far end of the road. Road Conditions K-Bar Road is generally well-maintained and accessible to all passenger vehicles. Following rains, the road can become very rutted and high clearance vehicles may be recommended.
