Best RV Parks & Resorts near Eastover, SC

Big Rig Friendly RV Resort features concrete pads with full hookups and sites designed for large motorhomes. The park offers spacious pull-through RV sites with 50-amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections. One camper shared, "This RV Resort has the largest sites around and also great amenities including pool, 4 pickle ball courts, clubhouse with large meeting room, full gym and very nice bathrooms." Several miles south, Wateree Lake RV Park & Marina provides lakeside RV camping with boat access and full hookups. Columbia Camden RV Park in Lugoff accommodates big rigs with spacious sites, though reviews indicate the facilities are basic and best suited for overnight stays.

Most RV parks in the Eastover region remain open year-round, with peak season running April through October. Navigation to lakeside parks occasionally requires navigating rural roads with moderate turns. A visitor commented, "Roads are very tight!" when describing Santee Lakes KOA, suggesting larger rigs should call ahead to confirm access routes. Cell service varies significantly between parks, with strong coverage at Big Rig Friendly but spotty reception at more remote locations. Dump stations are available at most parks, though some smaller facilities like Sweetwater Lake Campground offer only a central dump station rather than at-site sewer connections. Pet policies generally allow dogs with standard leash requirements and designated pet areas.

    Weston Lake Recreation Area

    Nice sites!

Very nice concrete pads; large sites with fire pit, grill, and picnic table. Gravel roads have washed out areas but not terrible. Very open and quiet. Several long-term residents.

    Sesquicentennial State Park Campground

    We will be back!

Even though we had a few rainy days we could see the beauty of this park. Clean heated restrooms in Winter is a bonus. Lots of things to do for all ages. Helpful and friendly staff.

    Woodsmoke Family Campground

    Overnight Stop

Ok for overnight stop but wouldn't be a travel destination. Most sites seem to be long term or permanent sites. Very close to neighbor site, with fire pit being extremely close. Water, Sewer, Power, WiFi

    Sweetwater Lake Campground

    I love this place!

Sweetwater Lake Campground is a small RV campground. There is electric and water hookup and a dump station. Lots are decent size and fairly level on grass or gravel. The owners are very nice and available, if needed. Reservations are not taken, so you pull in and pick your spot. Drop your money in a lock box. The property has a nice size lake and all spots face it. There are fire pits and hammocks. The best and most fun part about this campground are the rescue donkeys. Their shelter and grazing area is situated directly behind the camper row. You can hear them bray and they will come to you and let you pet them, although, you should use caution as they warn you that donkeys bite. This is a very nice, quiet campground surrounded by private property of fields and lake. I really enjoyed our stay here!

    Sesquicentennial State Park Campground

    Needs improvements

Not a big rig friendly area. Our site was 30 amp, no sewer. I backed in the way I was told to and realized our water and electric were on the curb side. Had I known this ahead of time, I could have maybe pulled in another way. The service from another site was less than 3 feet from my power inlet to the camper. I called to make sure it would be ok to plug in there and they said no, even though no one used that site. The bathhouse was well below standards and really just unusable. I’ll pick another place if I’m ever in the area again.

Military Park Shaw AFB Wateree Recreation Area and FamCamp

    Wateree Tent Camping

This was my family’s first time tent camping in the cold weather and it wasn’t that bad. The lakeside tent area provided beautiful scenery with access to restrooms and showers. It wasn’t too crowded as it was military members only and you can’t beat the price for a lakeside spot. We would definitely go tent camping here again!

Cypress View Campground — Santee State Park

    Cypress View Campground

This is one of the two campgrounds at Santee State Park, and it is as different from the other as night and day. Unlike the dirt roads at Lakeshore Campground(the other campground in the park) the roads in Cypress View are paved. The sites are gravel, and many of them are pull-through sites. Although tent camping is allowed in Cypress View, I would feel out of place since most of the campers are RVs. However, our teardrop camper fits right in. Cypress View is a much smaller campground than Lakeshore Campground, but the amenities are the same. Every campsite is a short walk from the lake, and the campground is closer to the store than Lakeshore Campground. Unlike Lakeshore Campground, Cypress View Campground’s sites are much closer together, so there is not as much privacy. The campground is quiet, other than the noise from the highway.   That may be one reason to be in an RV or a travel trailer--to cut out some of the noise at night.

Close to the campground, there is a tennis court, a boat launch, Fisheagle Tours, a picnic shelter, kayak rentals, hiking trails, and more. It is conveniently located to most of the state park’s attractions without having to drive so far. Cypress View Campground is also close to the main office and the boat dock.

If you had rather stay in a cabin, there are cabin rentals on the water. They are accessed by way of a boardwalk across the water. The bath house is modern and has hot showers. It is centrally located so that it isn’t that far of a walk from any of the campsites.

Overall, I do recommend this campground, especially if you are in a travel trailer or an RV. If you are tent camper, you would probably better enjoy being at the other campground in the park.

    The Farm Campground

Great family and let friendly campground!

The Farm has everything you need for a rv get away.  We enjoyed the trees, privacy and friendliness of the owners! Multi generational campground that has some long term campers as well as camping by some working short term in the area. Super close to Lake Robinson.

Wateree Lake RV Park & Marina

    Better than I expected

This is a park on the East side of Lake Wateree. Not far off l-77. Has what you need. Full hookups picnic table and a fire pit. The owners are trying hard to improve the park. They have a security gate to keep passers by out. They have a nice deck near the boat ramp and have a little bar in the office. There are a lot of campers that stay there. I could tell the privet along and are friendly which is very important to us. I will Go back sometime. Also had better than average/strong Wi-Fi!

Guide to Eastover

Eastover, South Carolina offers RV camping options within a rural landscape characterized by pine forests and proximity to several water bodies. The region features a warm, humid climate with summer temperatures often exceeding 90°F from June through August. Most RV parks in the area accommodate various camping styles from tent sites to full-service RV hookups with amenities varying significantly between locations.

What to do

Fishing opportunities: The canal between Lakes Marion and Moultrie provides excellent fishing spots near Hill's Landing & RV Park. One visitor noted, "This spot is perfectly situation between the two on a tributary of a slow-moving waterway dubbed Diversion Canal that connects the two... Here you'll find newly graded pull-through spots and a very easy paved boat landing to maneuver around, along with a private dock."

Blueberry picking: Seasonal activities include fruit picking at certain campgrounds in spring. At Black Pearl Farms, a camper shared this tip: "Come in May. Fresh blueberries!" The farm offers multiple camping spots in a wooded area behind the main blueberry fields.

Riverside relaxation: Some campgrounds provide direct river access for swimming and kayaking. A Black Pearl Farms visitor commented, "Beautiful, well maintained site beside the Edisto river, just as advertised! Private, peaceful, just what we were looking for."

What campers like

Spacious sites: Many RV parks prioritize roomy camping spaces. A visitor at Palmetto Shores RV Resort remarked, "The sites are large and far enough apart; but be mindful of the site you pick! Our sites were right next to the highway, I will say though we did tune the noise out the longer we stayed."

Wildlife viewing: Several campgrounds offer opportunities to see local wildlife. At RV's Acres, a camper reported, "The last time I was here 2 does & a fawn came lopping/walking through the property. There is a beautiful private pond on property and the owner does allow catch/release."

Recreational facilities: Amenities beyond basic camping are common at larger establishments. One guest at Palmetto Shores RV Resort stated, "Palmetto shores has a nice outdoor activity area, a nice lake beach and a really nice pool and lazy River."

What you should know

Site selection matters: Highway noise can impact some camping locations. A camper at Palmetto Shores RV Resort cautioned, "Our sites were right next to the highway, I will say though we did tune the noise out the longer we stayed (and drank)."

Maintenance varies: Facilities range from new to needing updates. A reviewer noted about Palmetto Shores: "Such a beautiful location but price doesn't match the upkeep. If you pay resort style prices (in which you do) you shouldn't have to work on shower heads in the bath house... Should spend money on repairs for sure. Everything is outdated."

Navigation challenges: Some camping areas have address or GPS issues. One Black Pearl Farms visitor warned, "CAUTION: The directions provided by The Dyrt to this location are incorrect. It is not located on Sand Hill. So please use Google Maps to find the location or you will be down a long dirt road with no place to turn around."

Tips for camping with families

Look for kid-friendly amenities: Some parks offer multiple recreational options for families. At Palmetto Shores RV Resort, a camper observed they have "a nice outdoor activity area, a nice lake beach and a really nice pool and lazy River."

Dog-friendly options: Many campgrounds accommodate pets with designated areas. A visitor at Wateree Lake RV Park & Marina shared, "The beach area is super nice to spend a day on the water with your family."

Security considerations: Gated entry provides peace of mind at some locations. A Wateree Lake RV Park visitor mentioned, "They have a security gate to keep passers by out. They have a nice deck near the boat ramp and have a little bar in the office."

Tips from RVers

Site utilities vary: Some parks have limited hookups despite advertising. A camper at Black Pearl Farms explained, "We were in spot 3 which had 'access to power and water'. Which was true, but not what I assumed. The site was a few yards away from a wash area to get water from and there was a 12 volt power cord outside to plug into."

Internet connectivity: WiFi quality differs between parks. One guest at Wateree Lake RV Park commented, "Also had better than average/strong Wi-Fi!" while others have reported variable connection strength.

Long-term options: Some parks offer monthly rates for extended stays. At Magnolia Campground RV Park, a resident noted, "Call for prices, mine is below $400 a month" with amenities including "50 AMP Hookups, City Water, Gray/Black Dump at each site, Cable TV, Internet."
