    Clear Lake Resort

    Best place to canoe

A small quaint Resort. Would love to stay at the cabins, but my schedule is the same as everyone else. Was told by the Ranger to come and stay after Labor Day, they are open year round. I find it easy to bring my kayak up and use the lake to enjoy rowing around. This would be a great place for those paddle boards. The lake is for non-motorized boats. Can do fishing too. The Lodge is open as a restaurant between Memorial to Labor day. Boat rentals, cabin rentals and tent sites avaiable check the www.linnparks.com or call (541) 967-3917. A must to RSVP

    River Bend County Park

Nice, well maintained, on the river!

We had a great time staying at River Bend! This was our first trip here and won’t be our last, we’ve already made reservations for next year.

The sites were maintained very well and the camp hosts were very friendly. In addition to the paved driveway for our trailer, there always a nice, large concrete pad for the picnic table with a fire pit built on to the corner. The neighboring site on the right was 20-30 yards away and the site on the left was 100+ yards away. Lots of trees all around, good shade for those hot August days.

The bathrooms for the loop were a nice walk but not too far and they were cleaned 2x per day.

We spent most of our days at the river swimming, floating in tubes, skipping rocks and looking for crawdads. It was an easy walk on well maintained trails to get to the river.

The playground and adjacent field were fun for playing and games in the evenings.

Being a long, hot year there were no fires allowed in the fire pits. That was a small bummer, but the fire danger was so high that it wasn’t a big deal. We used our propane fire ring instead and that was great. Kind of nice coming away from a camping trip and not smelling of smoke 😁

    River Bend County Park

Love this place, Can't wait to go back!

Came here to meet up with a Facebook camping group. It was one member's favorite place and I see why! Nice level sites with water and electric. Dump station on site. The sites are private with picnic tables and fire pits. The bathrooms are very nice. Peeked inside some of the creekside cabins. Those look super cute.

The main attraction here is the South Santiam River, which in October is stunning. Would love to visit in the summer when can actually take a dip. It's a great place to come and sit and meditate, watch the birds, just relax. Love it here!

    Clear Lake Resort

    Beautiful

Rented a rustic cabin a couple weeks ago. It was perfect. Lights out at 10 but lanterns and propane heat keep you comfortable. Rented a boat for the morning and had a blast.

    River Bend County Park

    Pretty

This campground was really nice. The staff was really nice, people were pretty quiet during quiet hours. They have some first come first serve spots. I felt like the concrete slab kept the ground more dry than had it just been gravel, it didn't bother me too much. The camping spots are close together but as I walked around I noticed that there were alot of nice electric spots. You could probably tent camp in one if you wanted more privacy. This would be a nice place to take the kids, there is a small playground and a feild. Lots of nice trees and a trail.

    Longbow Organization Group Camp

    Longbow Organization Campground

Great spot for a family reunion or other group campout. This campground is full of history and beauty as it is situated right on the banks of the South Santiam River in the Willamette National Forest only 1 hour East of I-5 in Oregon.

The shelters are Adirondack cabins with fireplaces in front of each one and complete with 3 sets of bunks in each one.

FACILITIES: shelter with kitchen and dining area, amphitheater, 6 sleeping shelters, BBQ for cooking, vault toilets, hand pump, NO electricity

    Eugene Kamping World RV Park

    Nice, In A Generic Way

We stayed here because we had an appointment in Eugene in the morning and wanted to be somewhere close the night before.

Though this isn't the type of park we usually prefer to stay at, it does a good job at being a good, safe, basic RV park.

There are activities right on site: horseshoe pits, playground, half court basketball hoop, small dog park (small is referring to the size of the park, it's for all dog sizes), and rec room.  The free showers and laundry room were nice and clean.  The park as a whole was nicely maintained and clean, though some residents seem to be pushing the limits on that on their individual sites.

There's a little store with basic items in the office, as well as a $1 DVD rental.

There's bulk propane on site at $3/gal, and a dump station (free for guests, $10 for non guests).

Good strong free wifi.  Good cell reception here as well.

There are recycling bins here but they don't specify what they allow.  It's just the generic blue toters that say "recycling."

It's near the road and near a TA truck stop, so there's noise from that, but it wasn't obnoxious.

Lots of long termers here, some of them look really settled in.  Sites are really close together.  We didn't have neighbors on either side of us, thank goodness.

With fees, etc our stay was $49 for a water and electric site.  FHU was just a few dollars more, but since the dump is free for guests we went that route and saved a couple of dollars.  Way too expensive but I suppose it's the proximity to Eugene.  We weren't asked about pets when we checked in, there don't seem to be any restrictions or additional fees.

Belknap Hot Springs Lodge and Gardens

Lovely stay in a gorgeous setting

We loved our stay here. We started on site 2 but it has zero shade so they were able to give us site 8. Right on the river with the beautiful sights and sounds of that majestic McKenzie. We moved up to the upper campground to site 14 for the next couple days. Also shady with sight and sound of the river. They sites aren’t very big but have a table and fire pit. The tent sites across the river that you hike to are amazing!! I want to tent camp there!! So wooded and many have direct river access. They also have cabins to rent. The hot mineral pools were wonderful and the staff friendly. They have a small store with a few essentials but no real food available. Lovely place.

Guide to Walterville

Cabin camping near Walterville, Oregon provides overnight options along the McKenzie River corridor at 600-700 feet elevation. Situated in the western Cascade foothills, the area experiences mild summers with average temperatures around 85°F and cooler fall nights that drop into the 40s. Winter cabin rentals remain available at several locations when tent camping becomes impractical due to seasonal rainfall.

What to do

Swimming access: River Bend County Park provides direct access to the South Santiam River for cooling off during summer months. The park features multiple swimming spots along the shoreline. As one visitor noted, "There's a nice spot to walk down to the river" and "Lots of nice trees and a trail."

Hot springs soaking: At Belknap Hot Springs Lodge and Gardens, visitors can enjoy natural mineral pools fed by geothermal springs. A camper mentioned, "The hot spring fed pools are so amazing. The hidden garden is something out of a movie." The springs maintain a constant temperature year-round, making this an excellent option during cooler months.

Mountain biking: Cabin accommodations provide a solid base for accessing nearby mountain bike trails. According to one visitor at The Willamettans, "While there are trails in the resort, the really good longer ones are on forest service land. You can walk from the resort, do a nice hike of up to six miles and return without any issues."

What campers like

Cabin privacy: Campers appreciate cabins that offer seclusion from neighboring sites. At River Bend County Park, "The sites are private with picnic tables and fire pits. The bathrooms are very nice. Peeked inside some of the creekside cabins. Those look super cute."

Group facilities: Clark Creek Organization Campground receives praise for its group cabin setup. A visitor explained, "Wonderful group camp that can sleep all your friends and relatives! Fun little bunk houses for the kids and a big covered area for cooking and hanging out. Big field for tents, frisbee, drum circles, etc."

Landscaped grounds: Many cabin properties feature well-maintained surroundings. One camper at Belknap Hot Springs noted, "The bridge itself though is right over the river, and the loud, fast, wild water was terrifyingly beautiful during the day and again at night in the complete darkness."

What you should know

Reservation timing: Cabins book quickly during peak seasons. A visitor to Clark Creek Organization Camp advised, "This group camp is amazing, so you better book it far in advance."

Bathroom situations: Facilities vary significantly between properties. At Fisherman's Point Group Campground, one camper observed the bathrooms were "empty" while visiting, but the facilities are more limited than other options in the area.

Water levels: River access can change seasonally. A Fisherman's Point visitor mentioned, "Even though the water's been low lately, we always find a place to swim."

Site spacing: Some cabin areas position units close together. A Belknap Springs visitor noted, "Sites by the River should be the premier spots. Zero space or privacy between them."

Tips for camping with families

Playground access: River Bend County Park features "a small playground and a field" perfect for children to burn energy between cabin time and river activities.

Swimming safety: Properties along rivers should be approached with caution for younger children. At Foster Lake RV Resort, a camper called it a "Perfect place for family" with "Great scenery" and noted it was "Very clean," providing a potentially safer water option than fast-moving rivers.

Activity options: Look for cabins with multiple recreation opportunities on-site. The Willamettans offers "tennis, pickleball, dog park, restaurant, library and a wonderful staff," according to a recent visitor.

Noise considerations: Some cabin areas enforce quiet hours more strictly than others. A River Bend visitor reported, "The grounds are patrolled regularly and rules are enforced."

Tips from RVers

Leveling requirements: Many cabin locations also accommodate RVs on level pads. At Dexter Shores RV Park, a visitor reported, "I had an easy stopover here on the way to Eastern Oregon. I didn't want to use my tanks, so I used their restrooms. They were warm, clean, and well-lit."

Hookup availability: Most cabin locations that also serve RVs offer full utilities. A Life Northwest RV & Lodging visitor noted the area had "Nice open and flat pavement with full hookups."

Pet policies: Many cabin rentals accommodate pets, but policies vary. A Dexter Shores RV Park visitor mentioned feeling safe while "Walking back and forth from my trailer" and noted "There's also a nice looking area for walking the dogs."
