Best RV Parks & Resorts near Imnaha, OR

Several RV parks near Imnaha, Oregon provide full-service accommodations for motorhomes and travel trailers. Log House RV Park and Campground in Enterprise offers 14 sites with electric hookups, water, sewer, and both 30-amp and 50-amp service options. The park accommodates big rigs with pull-through sites and includes amenities such as showers, toilets, and a dump station. Scenic Meadows RV Park in Joseph operates seasonally from May through October with electric hookups, water connections, and sewer service. Park at the River provides full hookup RV sites with limited river-view dry camping spots available. Sites at most parks feature gravel pads with picnic tables and fire rings where permitted. "The sites were a little close together, but they were able to move us after the first night so we had a little more privacy," noted one visitor about Log House RV Park.

Advance reservations are strongly recommended during summer months when Wallowa Lake and surrounding attractions draw significant traffic. The mountainous terrain presents navigation challenges for larger rigs, particularly on forest roads leading to more remote campgrounds. Most RV parks in the region maintain operational dump stations, though some visitors report occasional backup issues during peak season. Cell service varies significantly throughout the area, with stronger signals in Joseph and Enterprise but limited connectivity in canyon areas. Winter access becomes restricted at higher elevations, with many facilities closing after October. According to one traveler, "This is a nice little RV park that is close to most things in the Joseph area. The bathrooms and showers were clean. The campground was very quiet with great views of the mountains."

    Bear Den RV Resort

    Well maintained , friendly staff

Campground is located a mile outside of town. Friendly staff and nicely maintained campground. There are a few small trees but mostly in the sun. Sites are close together. Big rig friendly and mostly pull through sites.

    Riverside RV Park

RV Paradise in Riggins, ID Next to the Little Salmon

This RV Park is a little gem in Riggins, ID. Nestled next to the Little Salmon River, the sound of the river at your campsite is so soothing! The campground itself is narrow with only one row of sites available. It is situated between the Little Salmon River and HWY 95 (Main St.) you don't get much highway noise because Main St. is up high on a cliff which blocks the noise. Each site has a picnic table but no fire pit. It is $30/night and well worth it! Most sites have full hook up with cable TV and Wi-Fi available. This campground makes for a great home base for those that want to fly fish the Little Salmon and Salmon Rivers. You can also walk to downtown Riggins for a bite to eat or do some shopping :-) We had a great view of the Little Salmon River from the rear of our travel trailer. We would DEFINITELY stay at this campground again!

    Park At The River

Beautiful spot but not really camping

Park at the River is in a beautiful location but it’s a full blown RV park, not a campground. The big rigs are really packed in. The dry camping spots by the river are great until the neighbors run a generator all day long. There are all kinds of amenities within walking distance: stores, restaurants, mini golf, etc.

    Fields Spring State Park Campground

    Small, quiet state park

We dreaded dealing with crowds over the 4th of July weekend and back in March, this was one of the few state parks where I could get reservations in this area. Keep in mind that "this area" is about 40 minutes from Clarkston, the nearest town so make sure you stock up and don't count on cell service (except for the top of Puffer Butte!) The campground is small - only 20 sites but even on July 3, there were still a handful of empty sites. It was very quiet. Some sites are pull through and some are larger than others (mostly the ones on the outside of the loop) Site 16 was large and could accommodate several vehicles and tents. One restroom that was very clean with my three necessities: soap, hand dryers, and garbage. Coin-operated shower but make sure you have quarters because there is not always a staff person to give you change. Firewood is on the honor system at $5 per bundle. There is an actual spring that the park is named for but it was still turned off (didn't know you could turn a spring on/off?) There are teepees, cabins, and shelters and it appears to be a popular place in the winter for cross country skiing and tubing. The 2+ mile roundtrip hike to the Puffer Butte is a must as the three state view (WA, ID, OR) is sweeping and gorgeous. Other than that, we enjoyed a quiet two nights at this state park

    Wallowa Lake State Park Campground

    Great Fall Retreat

We enjoyed our off season stay!

Easy back in to our fairly level site.

Unfortunately they had water hookups shut off for winter (after we made our reservation, but before we arrived). So we had to venture back out to the design acted water fill campsite our first morning.

Sites were nice, but very much on top of each other, IMHO. I prefer more privacy for longer stays. Wouldn't want to be there in peak season.

They ask that you don't offload a full black/grey tank at your site, as the septic system can't handle it... in my experience, the dump site may not be able to handle it either. We were after another camper, and it began to overflow as we finished emptying our grey... neither having been completely full.

The picnic table and firepit were at the end of the site, not next to the RV pad/door, as I would've preferred.

A nice nature trail to the lake.

    Winchester Lake State Park Campground

    Great Park, Great Fishing

We pulled our 40ft RV up here and had a great time! Not full hookups but lots of fishing we caught: blue gill, trout, bass, crappie, perch, cat fish and had a small Tiger Muskie on the line but lost it. We were there for two weeks and they did have electricity and water hookups just no dump so we showered and used the bathroom facilities which were very well kept! So we didn’t mind. There is a dump station just in town at the gas station there. Overall great experience and nice to be off the grid for a bit!

    Pealy Loop Recreation Site Dispersed

    Great and free

We came upon this site after passing on the White Bird Recreation Site just north of here - it's so much better and we're so glad we came here. It's an established campground, with maybe 4 or 5 sites, all open, spread out, right on the river. There's a picnic table and fire pit for each site, and a porta potty. Verizon was roaming and AT.T. had great reception. Despite being right off the main road, it was very quiet and you couldn't hear or see traffic since you're lower down on the river. Easy access for big rigs. We stayed here two nights. Ranger came through to check on things, always love to see that.

Beautiful spot. Free! 14 day limit. No trash service, no water other than the river. The campground was nice and clean.

    Swiftwater RV Park

Nice location on the Snake River

We spent 2 nights here in late April so we nearly had the place to ourselves. Bill & Pam are very nice folks. Very laid back, helpful, and accommodating. We had a crew of 7 tents and 3 vehicles. We pretty much took over the Gazebo which had lighting, a big central fire pit, and lots of camp chairs.

The flush toilets each had a shower and there were several coin op washers and dryers.

The biggest surpprise was the WiFI was very good. Strong signal throughout the small RV / camping area. We essentially had only extended service with our Verizon cell service. One of the crew had AT&T with the same.

Guide to Imnaha

The Imnaha area sits at the edge of the Wallowa Mountains in northeastern Oregon, with elevations ranging from 1,800 to 10,000 feet across the region. The nearby Snake River creates a deep canyon environment with distinct microclimates that affect camping conditions year-round. Seasonal access varies dramatically with higher elevation sites receiving snowfall from October through May.

What to do

Jetboat tours: 6 miles from Canyon Pines RV Resort. The Salmon River and Snake River provide opportunities for guided jetboat excursions. "River Adventures Jet Boat tour of Hells Canyon is worth it!" notes a visitor to Canyon Pines RV Resort.

Mountain viewpoints: 30-minute drive from main highways. Several spectacular overlooks provide panoramic vistas of the Seven Devils Mountains range. "David (owner of Canyon Pines) pointed us to Heaven's Gate Mtn overlooking the 7 Devils Mtns. GO!!!" recommends a camper who stayed at Canyon Pines RV Resort.

Riverside fishing: Available directly from campsites. Multiple campgrounds offer direct water access for anglers targeting salmon, steelhead and smaller fish species. "This campground makes for a great home base for those that want to fly fish the Little Salmon and Salmon Rivers," explains a guest at Riverside RV Park.

What campers like

River proximity: Steps from many sites. The sound of flowing water creates a peaceful camping atmosphere at several area campgrounds. "Nestled next to the Little Salmon River, the sound of the river at your campsite is so soothing!" reports a camper at Riverside RV Park.

Clean facilities: Regularly maintained. Several campgrounds receive high marks for their bathroom cleanliness. "The bathhouse is a little dated, but spotlessly clean. The laundry is $1.75 each machine," notes a visitor to Swiftwater RV Park.

Mountain views: Visible from campsites. The surrounding mountain ranges provide dramatic backdrops at many camping locations. "We had a huge group and multiple dogs in the group site. Very clean camp area. Extremely reasonable prices," shares a repeat visitor to Lost Valley Reservoir.

What you should know

Cell service limitations: Variable coverage. Many camping areas have limited or no cellular connectivity. "There is no cell service, but wifi is available. NO streaming and intermittent for browsing," advises a camper who stayed at Canyon Pines RV Resort.

Reservation timing: Book early June-August. The summer season fills quickly at most established campgrounds in the region. "We're heading north from Boise and needed a place to crash for the night. This was convenient so we booked it and we're happily surprised when we arrived," explains a visitor to Swiftwater RV Park.

Road conditions: Challenging for large vehicles. Many campgrounds require navigating steep, winding roads that can be difficult for bigger rigs. "There is a heck of a drive to get into this place, there's a very winding and steep road to get there and it took us about an hour from White Bird," cautions a visitor to Pittsburg Campground.

Tips for camping with families

Pet restrictions: Vary by location. Some rv parks near Imnaha, Oregon welcome pets while others have limitations. "We had a small lawn for our dog. Easy in/out access through the park," notes a visitor to Riverside RV Park.

Bur hazards: Pack a brush for pets. Natural vegetation in some areas includes sticky burrs that can cause problems for dogs. "Word of warning to any dog owners; I discovered as soon as we unloaded from the vehicle that there are sticky burs absolutely everywhere on the ground and our furry labradoodle was soon covered with them," warns a camper at Pittsburg Campground.

Entertainment options: Bring games. Some campgrounds provide lending libraries and activity areas. "There is a camp store that has just about everything you might need including a good selection of wine and beer. There is a lending library for books and a huge DVD library. $2 rental," mentions a visitor to Canyon Pines RV Resort.

Tips from RVers

Site spacing: Request specific locations. Some Imnaha area RV parks have tightly arranged spaces that can impact privacy. "Bear Den RV Resort is located a mile outside of town. Friendly staff and nicely maintained campground. There are a few small trees but mostly in the sun. Sites are close together," explains a camper at Bear Den RV Resort.

Power options: Confirm amperage. Many Imnaha region campgrounds offer either 30-amp or 50-amp service, but not always both. "Beautiful view, super friendly staff, and very convenient location. Just a tiny bit off the highway, easy to access pull-through sites, and very affordable!" shares a visitor to Seubert RV Park & Guesthouse.

Seasonal operation: Verify opening dates. Several RV parks in the Imnaha region have limited operating seasons due to weather conditions. "Quiet and great place for car camping," notes a summer visitor to Pittsburg Campground, which remains open year-round unlike many seasonal options.
