      Southern Oregon RV Park

      Park with all the bells

We stay here often on our migration from PNW to the Desert for winter. It is a extremely well run park, with immaculate bathrooms and well groomed sites. Sites have concrete pad, fire pit and table with FHU. An easy off of Highway 5 and close to Costco and many restaurants. Small lake/pond with walking trail around and extra large Dog Park.

Valley of the Rogue State Park Campground

      Great Thru Campsite

Would I describe this place as the pinnacle of what Oregon has to offer? Probably not, but for us it was perfect since we only had 5 days to travel the whole Pacific Coast from San Diego to Seattle. This was close to the freeway, so yeah definitely noise but everyone we met was really nice. Also not to far from here is a dog park so your furry half can stretch their legs in compliance with leash laws. First place we’ve stayed in Oregon and we really love it.

Aspen Point (lake of The Woods, Or)

Day use only or campground ?

So I saw the Eagle Point park campground on the map and on a fancy Klamath County Mountain bike trail brochure. Two signs directed me right to it but when I got there a large sign up high on a tree stated DAY USE ONLY NO CAMPING OR OVERNIGHT PARKING. the place looks great but there are definitely mixed messages here.

Quieter camping options: Holiday RV Park provides a break from highway noise despite proximity to major roads. Well-maintained sites: Southern Oregon RV Park receives consistent praise for cleanliness and organization. "Entirely fenced for security although people are getting in at front entrance. Noticed people biking through in middle of night. Small dog area; too small. Not enough places to walk dog on grass; almost entire park is paved," notes a visitor, who also praised, "Trash cans well distributed throughout park for convenience as are shower/restroom facilities."

    What you should know

Seasonal weather considerations: July through September brings hot conditions requiring careful planning. "During summer months, early morning or evening walks help protect pets from hot pavement, with temperatures regularly exceeding 90 degrees in July and August," advises a park ranger.

Bathroom facilities vary: Campground shower systems differ widely across the region. "The coin operated showers... nope! only 1 out of the 3 was working this night," reports a camper at one facility, while others mention "clean hot showers were super appreciated" at other locations.

River conditions change seasonally: Water release schedules from dams affect swimming and fishing opportunities. "The river at this time was extremely swift so be aware if you have dogs or kids," warns one Rogue Elk visitor. Another camper reports, "The host told us that they're releasing a lot of water from the dam in anticipation of snow melts filling the dam up."

    Tips for camping with families

    Tips from RVers

Site selection strategies: Travelers note importance of considering space between neighbors. "Sites are level with picnic tables and fire pits. The sites are a good distance from each other," reports a visitor to Southern Oregon RV Park, while others mentioned sites can be "tight" at other facilities.

Power considerations: Electrical infrastructure reliability varies between campgrounds. "The power stations are breaking down, the maintenance staff has trouble fixing things because they have no parts, so it's sort of make do," reports one Valley of the Rogue visitor who still recommended the park.

Dog friendly campgrounds near Eagle Point: Flycasters RV Park and Resort in Shady Cove welcomes pets with riverfront access. "Whether a day, week, month or more this place is a wonderful little gem in the Rogue Valley. Very reasonable and helpful!
