So nice, can’t wait to return

So we were here July 1-3 2019. There are two different areas to this campground. One is a very large tent camping area with no hookups and about 1/2 mi down the road is the RV and cabin area this is a paved area right next to the beach. Really liked this RV camping area. Bathrooms are nice. Pads are relatively even, the beach is right there so ocean sounds all night. You do need a Reservation use pass for the number of days you are there and it has to be displayed in window. You can buy it at the same time of reserving and paying for your spot. These are first come basis I think there’s like 10 spots. 30/50 amp, water and sewer are really accessible. Our only complaint is the ATV /dirt bikers would ride their toys late into the night revving in the parking lot and just a bit rowdy and rude. There are also realllly nice little cabins on this property too. Don’t know prices but well set up and probably very reasonable for what you get. I think some are set to accommodate an Rv pulled next to them.

Great place

You are in the dessert so don’t expect much.  If you are camping here it’s because you plan to mine for opals. The bathrooms are good. Showers are nice and high psi!  They have ice, ice cream and sodas for purchase as well as a small gift shop.  The 30 amp pull through sites are really close the back-Ins are a bit more spread out. I can imagine this place is pretty tight if all sites are filled during their busy season but mid September it was comfortable.  For RV drivers or trailer pullers beware the road is basically a washboard for the entire drive (appx 10 mi) so go slow.  Gets windy in the eve as typical for high desert.  Nearest gas and groceries is Denio Lakeview is about 100 mi away.  Great owner and super friendly staff help at the mine.  Super kid friendly  my daughter and I had a blast.

Not great for tent camping

The tent spots are in the back by the fishing pier along the road. There’s a coastguard station kitty corner to the tent area and there’s only a shortish fence from your tent area and the main road. We stayed in the corner tent area and the lights and sounds from the Coastguard office was constant and all night. There were guys on bicycles along the road till after dark and then about 6am going to fish. It was very stressful and I didn’t sleep much at all with all the noise and stress

Owners super nice

Place is pretty tight especially when full. The shower facilities are older and had a slight sewer odor. They did seem to clean regularly but just a bit dark and outdated. 30/50 amp power, water and sewer. The trees seem to mist on you too (kinda nice when it was 91 and smokey out). Not sure if it’s a sticky spray they emit as we haven’t tried washing car or trailer yet. Laundry facilities present. Easy access and seemed like the better place to stay while in Burns. Seemed like a quick turnover so it’s more a stoping point than a vacation stay place. A lot of out of town workers seemed to be there. I don’t know if we will be back to Burns but if we do we will probably stay here again only because there were no better options

Will be back

Reallly enjoyed this place was our first spot on a long Or trip and first time in our trailer the spots are nice and even, decently spaced. Sewer, water, 30/50 amp hook ups are easy access camp host we had was really sweet Bathrooms are super nice, clean, great showers. Didn’t use laundry but a little pricier than most. I believe $3 per wash and $3 to dry really impressed with this place and will be back (great central place for rock hounds)

We won’t return

It might be great for some but for us the spot was tight. There was a tree that was way too hard to manage around pulling in. The spots are close and not even. Seems to be a lot of long-term folks here. Big place with a pool (didn’t use) and a catch and release pond for the fisherpeoples. Probably no fault of theirs but upon hooking up water to my converter and then to my trailer I blew a hole in my trailer’s water system… unsure what happened. Had to go use the showers and bathrooms. Well the bathrooms are standard but the coin operated showers… nope! only 1 out of the 3 was working this night. So no showers for us because some lady had a pocket full of quarters and was enjoying her very long shower. Our spots was too tight to really maneuver our car to unhook and hook up the trailer. We won’t return to this place but for the experienced drivers who don’t mind tight spots it may be just fine. Has sewer, 30/50 power and of course water hookup

Customer service needs improvement

These people NEVER return a phone call. Not very friendly or accommodating. The spots are nice but not all are even and decently spaced but it’s n the smaller side. Bathrooms are clean and decent. Shower had one setting so if you don’t mind a sharp hot shower you are all good. Handy and nice laundry facility. If you are a light sleeper and like to have a window open, you’d better wear earplugs because the foghorn blows 24/7 every 15 seconds. This place seems geared for the older crowd? Didn’t see any kids even tho there is a small playground. Mostly all older fancy RV peoples that clamped together.

Small but nice

Small but clean and nice the shower/restroom is a converted motel room so it’s super clean and nice. Has a few pull-troughs for smaller set-ups, back in for the rest. Our spot (smaller pull-through) was pretty flat. This place is right next to a Coast Guard pier so at times it can be a bit noosy at the change of staff (gate squealed like a stuck pig). Spots are kind of close together but if just for a night or if camping with friends it’s just fine next to kyack put in and a boat launch. Overall our one night stay was nice.
