    Rocky Point (ft Gibson)

    Beautiful Lake Shore Campground

Ft Gibson Lake near Wagoner Oklahoma offers six class A campgrounds for RV and tent camping, six marinas, multiple boat ramps on 19,990 surface acres of lake with 225 miles of shoreline. Our visit was to Rocky Point COE with a gated/staffed entry station, multiple camp hosts, day use areas, boat ramps, interior paved roads, RV concrete pads, large table, fire ring, grill, lantern holder, 50/30/15 amp electric and water on class A sites plus tent camping sites complete with shelters, tables, fire rings, grills, dispersed water spigots. The campground had a dump station, bath house and several trash receptacles. Most sites were on the water or had a water view and adequately spaced to enjoy the amazing sunrises and sunsets. We enjoyed site 2A which was a level pull through and big rig friendly. The rocky shoreline is a birders paradise...we had an eagle, three Great Blue Herons and plentiful hawks to name a few. The town of Wagoner has all the essentials to include grocery, fuel, dining and yes, Walmart. Verizon cell coverage was 1- 2 bars. The America The Beautiful Senior Pass is good for 50% camping discount. Recommend a look at Google Maps to plan your route into the campground from Oklahoma Hwy 69 as Garmin and Google are a little wacky. Just follow the signs!! 8568 STATE HWY. 251A, Wagoner, OK 74434 GPS- 36.027978,-95.314844

    The Woods Campground

    Great overnight stop or longner

Nice quick in and out overnight stop or longer if needed. Big rig friendly large pull though sites and smaller back in sites with 30 and 50 amp and water no sewer but dump station is close by. Self service campground $8.00 a night pay at pay station at the entrance of the park. Located in a city park of Coffeyville, play ground with in walking distance from sites. Walmart is less the a 5min drive from this campground and from the town of Coffeyville. Quite area, there seems to be a few campers living here full time or here for work, but all seems to be keeping their sites clean and organized. On the payment envelope says 14 day maximum stay.

    Tulsa NE-Will Rogers Downs KOA

    Nice clean campground

Spent one night at this campground. Grounds were clean, restrooms and showers were also clean. The check in office was inviting and pleasing. We didn’t use the laundry facility while we were there, but they are available should the need arise. Bathrooms were locked and secure and passcode was required to enter. Passcode was provided upon check in. Our site was a pull through level gravel pad with full hookups. The off leash dog park was a small fenced in area with a couple of benches. Horse track and casino were well within walking distance from the camp sites. Quiet location, just off the highway. Highway could not be heard from inside our camper.

    Blue Creek

    Enjoy many activities!

General: Blue Creek is one of four campgrounds operated by the US Army Corps of Engineers on Oologah Lake (the others are Spencer Creek, Red Bud, and Hawthorn Bluff). It is divided into three sections: one with electric hookups (Sites 14-35) and two without (Sites 1-11 and 36-61, with Sites 54-61 that can be used as a group area). On a weekday in early May, the section with electric was full but we had the section with sites 36-61 entirely to ourselves. Sites 1-11 are good for boaters as they are near the boat ramp, however, the sites are not as well delineated (the picnic tables have the site numbers on them and cars park wherever). Since COVID, reservations are required but as with all other CoE campgrounds, the fees are extremely reasonable ($20 for electric,$16 for non-electric and half-price for seniors).

Site Quality/Facilities: It is often impossible to determine the best site when reserving but after arriving, we discovered that Site 55 was not going to work for us. It had a very short sloping half-circle drive and after 10 minutes of maneuvering, it was obvious there was no way we were going to be level. It was also rocky so it would be challenging for tents. This site is the furthest away but near the spot where many fish so it will not be as quiet as you might expect. Fortunately, we were able to switch sites (no one else was there!) and Site 42 was much better and like many others, had a large semi-circular drive. Many sites had a covered concrete pad with a large concrete picnic table, utility table, and lantern hook. There was a dump station, but it was coned off when we were there; we did not need it so I did not ask when/if it would be available.

Bathhouse: The sections without electricity have vault toilets, which were clean, but the flush toilets/showers are within a reasonable walking distance. These were very clean. Soap but bring your towel.

Activities/Amenities: Aside from fishing and boating, there are many activities you can enjoy here including volleyball, horseshoes, bean bag toss, and basketball. When the gate attendant is there, you can check out supplies for these activities. There is also a hiking trail. We saw a few people kayaking. Horses are allowed in the group camping section (Sites 54-61).

Perhaps it is because we had an entire section to ourselves, but we had a relaxing and peaceful stay here and would definitely return.

    Blue Bill Point

    Hidden Gem

We are camping in a 27’ travel trailer in site 13 but there are beautiful tent sites, some right on the water. This particular site is beautiful, shaded, has a lake view, and is within 100 yds of a nice swimming area and a beautiful spot for SUP boards and kayaks. If you have a boat, it can be anchored by the beach. IMO this site was moderately difficult to back in the trailer so if you don’t have good backing skills this isn’t the site for you. There’s a picnic table, fire ring, and charcoal grill on site as well as electric and water- no sewer.

Grand Lake O' the Cherokees RV Resort by Rjourney

    Well Run Campground

Cedar Oaks is a very easy campground (CG) to find and get into. We did not have a designated site number but had requested back-in site 90 on the lake or a pull through from 64 to 73. We got our first choice and after an easy check-in we were escorted to site 90 and were assisted backing in. This site had a large lawn area due to site 91 being decommissioned because of flooding a while back. We enjoyed a very nice lake view as this site is probably the best site in the park. The site next to us, 89, was very near on our utilities side, but 89 still had some lake view. There is no cable TV here but we got a good variety of OTA channels. We got 3 bars on Verizon and the park WiFi was average for a park this size. There are permanent and seasonal residents here plus dedicated transit/short term areas. Most sites in this CG have a shot to the southern sky if you want to use satellite. There are two small fenced dog areas but plenty of room to walk your dogs. There is also a bathhouse and boat launch plus slips. This was our second stay here and we would stay here again in the future.

    Allens Point R.V. Park

Great location for easy fishing access

This is a great short or long term RV spot for those that are wanting to have possibilities of great fishing. On the shores of Oologah Lake with a boat ramp. There appear to be many long term campers here; there are not organized places for children to play. However, there are places that any kid could find to play; this park is mainly structured to attract older campers. There are services and goods available within 30 minutes.

This is also a great location for exploring area attractions (Will Rogers birthplace home, Will Rogers Museum, Woolaroc, etc. I would not consider this a kid friendly park and there are not any activities other than lake access and fishing. If you go into looking at it as a fishermen's destination, you will be happy.

    Spencer Creek

    Nice Getaway!

This campground is only 20 minutes from our home and we go here as a short getaway. We’ve been 3 times over the summer because it’s so close. There are sites on top of ridge overlooking Oolagah Lake. Site 10 is an accessible site. When you back in you have a nice view of lake from front window and living area of RV.

Sites 12, 14 & 15 are on ridge with views of lake and 17 is at bottom of hill with view of lake.

Park has a play area, trail, soccer field, boat ramp and short walk to beach area. We stayed in site 3 which is a spacious site and short walk to beach.

Mid October Oolagah Lake is in the path of Pelicans migrating south. When you camp mid to end of October the lake with be covered with a white layer of pelicans.

If you have accessible All Access Pass from National Park service you get a discount. We usually get 1/2 off. There are water spickets but not at individual sites. There is a dump station. 30 amps.
