Campgrounds with RV hookups are found throughout the Deerfield, Ohio area. Chestnut Ridge Park and Campground offers 115 sites with electric, water, and sewer hookups, operating from May 1 to October 1. Evergreen Park RV Resort provides year-round access with full hookup sites that accommodate large rigs. Roundup Lake RV Resort features 50-amp service, water, and sewer connections on sites that can handle larger motorhomes. Countryside Campground includes 30-amp electric service, water hookups, and a dump station for RVs staying between May and October. "Very small campgrounds literally next to if not part of a corn field, extremely cramped, back of our camper was 2ft from the camper behind us and 15 ft from the campers left to right," noted one RV traveler about spacing at some local parks.

While some parks offer premium amenities like cable TV and WiFi, others provide more basic services. Most RV parks in the region maintain dump stations, though Brady's Leap Ohio Turnpike RV Lot stands out for offering sewer hookups without allowing campfires. Cell service varies significantly, with several reviewers noting weak coverage at certain locations. Propane refill stations are available at select campgrounds including Bear Run Campground. Many parks accommodate pets but enforce leash requirements. During peak summer months, particularly July and August, advance reservations are recommended as the limited number of pull-through sites fill quickly. Several campgrounds close for winter between October and April, though a few remain open year-round for cold-weather RV camping.

      Tomlinson Run State Park Campground

      Nice little State Park

Tomlinson Run is a small state park situated in the northern panhandle of West Virginia nestled between eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania. Plenty of things to do there including but not limited to…. Mini golf, hiking trails, biking, swimming, fishing, paddle boats, parks for the kids, and of course the camping. The campsites here are mainly gravel pads with the exception being the asphalt handicapped spots (2). Most spots are 30 amp with a few 50 amp (new for 2021). The park also has a few primitive spots available and some yurts and cabins to rent. I have a 38’ fifth wheel and the spots are tight for it (even the couple pull thru). Campground facilities are clean but dated. They state new facilities are coming soon. The campground is at the top of a hill and the spots are wooded and shaded. I would consider the camping to be spaced generously (room to stretch out). They have a small camp store and information available. A breakfast is available during peak season for a small fee. They do have water and a dump station available (free for campers to use).

      Thompson/Grand River Valley KOA Holiday

      Happy Camping

Relax, breath, and camp. Perfect spot.

This Campground is quiet, full of fun, for families or older people. Beautiful area.
Many pull through lots, with patios. 50. 30. Full hookup, (sewer and Electric) back in, pull through, tent sites, cabins, teepees. Swimming pool, private bathrooms and showers. Fishing lake, swimming lake, trails. Children play areas. Basketball, bad mitten/volleyball, Dog wash, dog parks (2), private fenced dog sites. (2)- pull through site. Golf cart rentals, and seasonal sites that are being updated, but all are decorated nicely, and kept up.
KOA is revamping some of this campground. Work in progress, but awesome stay.

      Amish Country Campsites

      Amish campsite

Very small campgrounds literally next to if not part of a corn field extremely cramped back if our camper was 2ft from the camper behind us and 15 ft from the campers left to right. When we left we had to knock on camper doors to ask folks to move their cars so we could pull out of out parking spot. The other campers were very nice lots of local folks they were fun to talk to. The camp site did have clean showers. Hot water. And. Clean restroom facilities. The dump station isn’t the best it is on a hill so dumping ones waste tanks completely could be a challenge The owners were polite but short The sites aren’t the best the electric is only 30 amp. And very dated they did have water hookups at each site. I didn’t take any pictures as there wasn’t anything to see at the campground other than campers packed in like sardines It is close to town and the shops. Everything closed at 5:00 including gas stations As they say any port in a storm. So as a last resort I guess it’s is okay. Just don’t plan to leave after 5:00 pm unless you have a full tank of gas. No ada camp sites. They are pet friendly

      Atwood Lake Park Campground

      Incredible!

The Atwood Lake Campground is a true gem in a beautiful area of eastern Ohio! We’ve visited the Atwood region many times in the past but have never camped - but after this visit we’ll be back for sure. The campground is relatively new, with the campground area being completely revamped beginning in 2017. There are two overnight camping areas with seasonal sites in a separate section; we stayed in “Camp H” which is the newest area. There is a huge bathhouse with two sets of men’s and women’s restrooms and shower facilities along with a very nice laundry area. Adjoining the bathhouse area is a beautiful pavilion and children’s playground - all of which overlooks Atwood Lake. The campsites are nicely spaced though if you’re in the inner loop as we were or even some of the outer ring sites you’ll be looking right into your neighbor’s site. All sites are FHU on level concrete pads and include a metal picnic table and fire ring. If needed there are two very well equipped dump stations if you prefer to use them instead of the sewer connection at your site. Many sites are on cul de sacs directly on the lake with docks and fishing areas adjacent to the campsites. Lots of hiking trails, paved bike paths, a swimming beach and restaurant are in a nearby area. We loved the campground and will return soon!

      Bear Run Campground

      Loads to do...!

This campground is deceptively big! The nightly RV sites are close to the park entrance and are relatively flat. The campground hosts themed events, game nights and arts& crafts. There is a swimming pool and playground for the kids. It also has a small café that sells baked goods and coffee. On Saturdays they sell amazing Armish Donuts!

Further into the campground the sites turn to more permanent sites. Further up the hill are more cottages and camping. This campground is steep in parts and too large to walk efficiently. There is a fenced dog run area and a beautiful lake. All sites have fire rings. There is an onsite laundry, WIFI, onsite dump station and propane refill station.

You can also buy ice and firewood. The campground is gated. Lots to do at the campground and lots to do in the surrounding area. They welcome all furry friends!

      Raccoon Creek State Park Campground

      Raccoon Creek Camping

This is a large state park offering electric only sites

The sites are set amounts the forest and there are several loops to choose from. Loop F is pet friendly. All sites are within walking distance to amenities

Amenities are quite run down but functional

Wildlife is beautiful and its a short ~10min drive to the beach area of Raccoon Creek lake.

Two (2) dump station spots and fresh water taps location throughout the park

NOTE: Many sites are not level, you will require blocks/timber to level out campers. Tent campers should choose their site using the photos on the state park site.

All sites have a paved car space.

      Streetsboro-Cleveland SE KOA

      Outstanding site in great campground

Stayed on a premium patio site and loved it. The campground and staff were awesome. Level site, great hook ups, awesome WiFi and cable. Clean facilities, 3 lakes (one with a fishing pier), 2 dog parks, and super friendly staff. 30 min to Cleveland. Walmart, gas stations and restaurants within 5 miles. Just off Ohio Turnpike, but can't hear it. Definitely recommend this KOA

      Mercer-Grove City KOA

      Really nice!

Very well maintained campground with lots of amenities, esp for kids (pool, playground). Generous sized sites, not too close together. Looks like quite a few long-term RVers here. Cute chickens wandering around. Hiking trail accessible from the campsite. Heavily wooded and quiet, but not too far off interstate.

      Tomlinson Run State Park Campground

      Very wooded campground

General: 50-site (all but six with electric hookups) campground plus two yurts and three cabins. Two sites are handicap accessible.

Site Quality: The sites have gravel pads (except the handicap-accessible ones which were paved). The sites were completely covered with leaves when we were there which made it challenging to determine where the actual (narrow) pad was. Sites appeared to be level. A fire ring and wooden picnic table complete the site.

Bathhouse: A little dated but clean. Two of the stall doors did not latch properly. Didn't use the shower so cannot comment but there was a sign indicating it took a while for the water to warm up.

Activities/Amenities: There is a small camper store, laundry, and a playground. In season, there is lake swimming and a boat dock. There is a fishing area, mini-golf and disc golf, and several short hiking trails. Unfortunately, since we arrived late afternoon and had to depart early the following day (and were camping off-season), we could not take advantage of any of these things. What we lose in activities, we gain in a quieter camping experience with fewer crowds, which is generally preferable for us!

    Guide to Deerfield

Deerfield, Ohio camping options extend beyond the immediate town into surrounding Portage County with elevations ranging from 1050 to 1200 feet. The area experiences distinct seasonal changes with summer highs averaging 82°F and winter lows reaching 19°F. Most campsites in this region are situated on relatively flat terrain with a mix of open fields and wooded areas.

    What to do

Fishing opportunities: Kool Lakes Family RV Park offers dedicated fishing lakes separate from swimming areas. "Our kids age 4 and 8 fished from sun up Saturday to about noon and then sporadically after that throughout the day. That night we hunted large bull frogs. All catch and release," reports one visitor to Kool Lakes Family RV Park.

Swimming and water activities: Many campgrounds feature swimming areas during summer months. At Countryside Campground, "The pool was closed since went before Memorial Day but it was a nice medium sized pool. The Buckeye ebail connects to the footpath down to the reservoir." This campground provides water access for multiple activities.

Mini golf: Several campgrounds maintain mini golf courses for family entertainment. At Countryside Campground, a reviewer noted, "The small putt putt course was still open for kids to play. Playground was a hit for our 8yr and under kids."

    What campers like

Spacious tent sites: While many campgrounds focus on RV camping, some offer generous tent spaces. "The 9 tent sites are very large and spacious. It is mostly an established RV Park," explains a camper about Pride Valley Campground.

Lake access: Direct access to water features ranks high among camper preferences. One Kool Lakes camper stated, "Our lot (a24) was right on water. Our kids fished from sun up Saturday to about noon and then sporadically after that throughout the day."

Natural exploration: Nelson-Kennedy Ledges Quarry Park offers unique geological features. "The State Park is very cool, various levels of short trails that are well marked to get through the natural ledges, caves, and water features," notes a reviewer. Another adds, "There are numerous trails for different skill levels and tons of caves to explore."

    What you should know

Seasonal availability: Most campgrounds operate between May and October. Evergreen Park RV Resort stands out as one of the few year-round operations. "We camped here the second weekend in December and had the park mostly to ourselves. There were only 3 other campers there," reports a winter visitor to Evergreen Park RV Resort.

Bathroom conditions: Facilities vary widely between campgrounds. One Pride Valley camper advised, "Bathroom facilities are poor and not well-maintained, but count as (barely) serviceable. Make sure to bring sandals so as not to step in the animal shit that covers the floors of the restrooms."

Site spacing: Site dimensions differ significantly between rv parks near Deerfield, Ohio. A Nelson-Kennedy Ledges camper shared, "Very large campgrounds with a large number of sites! If you're looking to stay off the grid, I stayed in M62, the woods directly behind me, no cell service."

    Tips for camping with families

Playground access: Multiple campgrounds feature playgrounds. At Countryside Campground, "Playground was a hit for our 8yr and under kids. A nice short walk takes you to Mogadore reservoir."

Family-friendly activities: Scheduled events enhance family camping experiences. A camper at RV Village Camping Resort noted, "The resort has lots of planned activities on the weekends. Overall a great campground. The pool and playground are awesome for the kiddos."

Safety considerations: Water safety protocols vary between locations. A Pride Valley visitor cautioned, "She screams at the kids and is a bully. She isn't sober and gives the swim tests for the docks. So let put a kid that we don't know if they can swim in deeper water."

    Tips from RVers

Hookup logistics: RV campers should check hookup locations before setup. At Pride Valley, full hookups cost "$450 per month, you can't beat that!" While at Chestnut Ridge Park and Campground, "Unfortunately they didn't have a 50 amp site available so the owner gave me 30 amp converter at no cost and also helped me hook up my gray water and black water connections."

Campground etiquette: Many Deerfield area rv parks have permanent residents. At RV Village, "There are a ton of permanent sites which the folks are all very friendly. The resort is golf cart friendly and that's how most get around."

Winter camping options: Limited rv campgrounds near Deerfield remain open year-round. At Evergreen Park, "The game room was nice as well as the indoor pool. The park is in Amish areas so there is plenty of shopping to do. Will definitely be on the go to list for winter camping."
