Evergreen Lake Park offers full pet accommodation at its campsites and cabins with both shaded and open options for pet owners. Pets are welcome at most campgrounds around Conneaut including Geneva State Park, Village Green Campground, and Virginia's Beach Campground. Most sites require pets to be leashed when outside camping units, with designated pet walking areas available at larger facilities. Village Green Campground provides easy access to Lake Erie beaches where dogs can enjoy water activities. Uncle Johns Elk Creek Campground allows pets at both their tent sites and cabin accommodations. Sites at Evergreen Lake Park include gravel pads that are reasonably level, though some visitors have noted uneven terrain at certain locations.

Nearby Virginia's Beach Campground features direct lakefront access where dogs can enjoy Lake Erie's shoreline alongside their owners. Campgrounds in the area typically enforce quiet hours to minimize excessive barking disturbances to other campers. Most facilities provide water access points and trash receptacles for pet waste disposal. Campers should be prepared for varying pet policies regarding multiple pets or larger breeds. Extreme weather conditions along Lake Erie can affect pet comfort, with temperatures varying significantly between seasons. The rocky beach at Virginia's Beach requires proper foot protection for dogs sensitive to rough terrain. Several pet-friendly campgrounds near Conneaut maintain seasonal operations, with most facilities open from May through mid-October, though Village Green Campground maintains year-round availability for visitors with pets.

      Goddard Park Vacationland Campground

      Near Beautiful Lake Wilhelm

Nice park with very friendly staff. My only complaint is the sites are way too crowded. Also a little uneven. I love that this park is close to Lake Wilhelm & Goddard State Park for fishing and bike riding. 2 pools and a dog park.

      Mosquito Lake State Park Campground

      Big, beautiful lake!

Great park! Sites are spacious and level. Very clean park. There are several full hook-up sites. Electric sites near the lake. We stayed at site #96. New Bathrooms are under construction. Campground is flat and great for bike riding. Nice playground for kids. Dog park nearby. Camp is near beach & marina. Also many shops and restaurants within a 10 minute drive. We will definitely be coming back to Mosquito Lake!

Jamestown Campground — Pymatuning State Park

      Great state park

Nice shower and bathrooms for a state park.

I didn't like that pets are not allowed in the non-pet area as that was where the playground and swimming beach was. Made it difficult to swim and play as a family since you can't leave dogs alone at the campsite. I wouldn't bring my dog next time to this campground. There are other more dog friendly places.

Very nice areas for walking, kayaking, swimming, and playground.

      Thompson/Grand River Valley KOA Holiday

      Happy Camping

Relax, breath, and camp. Perfect spot.

This Campground is quiet, full of fun, for families or older people. Beautiful area.
Many pull through lots, with patios. 50. 30. Full hookup, (sewer and Electric) back in, pull through, tent sites, cabins, teepees. Swimming pool, private bathrooms and showers. Fishing lake, swimming lake, trails. Children play areas. Basketball, bad mitten/volleyball, Dog wash, dog parks (2), private fenced dog sites. (2)- pull through site. Golf cart rentals, and seasonal sites that are being updated, but all are decorated nicely, and kept up.
KOA is revamping some of this campground. Work in progress, but awesome stay.

      Mosquito Lake State Park Campground

      Great place!

The sites are huge. The dog park is amazing. Theres so much to do here. Swimming, boating, fishing. We love it. Only bad are no real bathrooms except at the front of the park. No place to wash dishes. Rough if you're tent camping. But we love the sites so much that we keep coming back.

      Willow Lake Campground

Nice and quiet with good layout

The sites are big with a range of surfaces available. Family run and immaculately kept. Grassy areas are cut and lush, showers and bathrooms are very clean and the layout is excellent. They have a dog park that is fenced in, no bare spots (all grass), a rock and other apparatus for dogs to climb and they even have a fire hydrant! Plus two shady spots under trees for adults to sit and relax. If we are ever going through their area we will definitely stay there again.

      Willow Lake Campground

      Always Satisfied

This is the second time we have camped here. The first time back in 2020 we paid for the cement pad spots and had zero issues. There aren’t any shade trees near the cement pad sites but the sites themselves are immaculate. This Labor Day weekend we stayed in a pull thru gravel spot. Minimal effort to get leveled and set up. Staff is friendly, site is beautiful with a few smaller trees. Nice play area for anyone who has kids. Dog park is also very nice sans the fact you have to walk past the bee infested dumpsters to get there! This is probably the most quiet campgrounds we have stayed at in the past 2 years! Very relaxing and a great place to stay!

      Mosquito Lake State Park Campground

      Great State Park Campground

We just got back from our first trip to Mosquito Lake State Park Campground. All in all, it was a great experience.

We stayed in site 67, which is a waterfront site, with electric. The water is about 25 yards from the pad, but is visible from the entire site. The site was spacious, but not as private as some of the others. There is some woods between this site and the sites on either side, but other sites are visible. The fire pits and picnic tables were staggered, so it created some distance to make it feel more private.

The campground as a whole, was very quiet. We stayed from Wednesday to Friday. The group next to us seemed a little rowdy when we first pulled in, but by 10:00 there was no noise anywhere near us.

Most sites seemed pretty level from side to side, but where we were, several had a slope from front to back. Away from the waterfront, most sites looked pretty level. The amount of space between sites varied from site to site. Some sites had woods on both sides, while others were pretty open. Some had nice large grassy areas, others were much smaller. Sites from 214-224 are in a cul de sac and are water front, but they were pretty close together with very little privacy between sites, if any. They are very close to the water though.

There are bathrooms and water scatter about, but from what I saw there was only 1 shower house.

Wal-mart and other shopping and restaurants were about 3 miles away. Park was easy to get to, only one turn for us off the highway. Lake was great for kayaking and paddleboarding. Very nice dog park in a different part of the park. There is a boat launch accessible from inside the campground.

Dump station has 2 lanes which was nice when checking out. Fresh water fill up was also located near the dump station.

      Geneva State Park Campground

      Monster Campsites!

This park has huge campsites ! The pads are paved and they left a section of trees/woods behind each site to provide some privacy between neighbors. The bathrooms are very clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. The park is directly across the road from the paved bike trail which leads to the beach, marina, lodge and strip area. The trail is dog friendly but the beach is not. The campground is also pet friendly.

    What to Do

Fishing opportunities abound: At Pymatuning State Park Campground, campers can try their luck at catching record-sized fish. "Save that old loaf of bread so you can feed the carp. Look up to spot a bald eagle beautiful sunsets and sunrise's. Have to go at least 1 time to this park," notes Jim L.

Bike through scenic areas: The paved trails near Geneva State Park Campground connect to nearby attractions. "Great campground with bike trails leading all the way in to Geneva By the Lake where you will find entertainment for the family," reports Linda R.

Water recreation options: Beyond swimming, many sites offer multiple water activities. "You can camp right on the lake in some spots. Tons of trails to hike and a beautiful beach," shares Shawn about Geneva State Park.

    What Campers Like

Lake views: Virginia's Beach Campground offers premium waterfront sites. "We loved it. Our site was right on Lake Erie. There was nothing except a drop of about 25' to the lake. There is lake access for swimming, boat launch and Jetsons etc," says Sean M.

Clean facilities: Many campgrounds maintain well-kept amenities despite high usage. "The bathhouse was clean and maintained. There was a small swing area in the campground but you kind of had to walk through some sites to get to it," writes Joni P. about Linesville Campground.

Convenient camping store: Sun Retreats Geneva on the Lake provides essential supplies on-site. "Nice clean and spacious place. Very nice mini golf and good ice cream. Camp store was fully stocked and had the only gas in town," mentions Fred R.

    What You Should Know

Varying site terrain: Some campgrounds have challenging terrain that requires preparation. "Our site was not level. Bathrooms were not lockable and therefore felt unsafe," reports Linda M. about Evergreen Lake Park.

Seasonal facilities: Most campgrounds operate between May and October with limited winter accessibility. "This is a nice park, very clean and quiet. The sites had plenty of space and nice views," notes John O. about an October visit to Pymatuning.

    Tips for Camping with Families

Entertainment options: Erie KOA offers multiple family activities. "Fun little campground with friendly staff and wide open spaces. Clean bathrooms, great pool, fun little game room. The playground got 2 thumbs up from a 4 and 6 year old," shares afshar Y.

    Tips from RVers

Water connections: Plan for varying water hookup arrangements. "Make sure you bring enough hose to connect to water. Each site does not have their own water connector, you have to run your hose 1 or 2 sites over," advises Nestor P. about Uncle Johns Elk Creek.

Site selection for shade: Look for specific areas that offer more tree coverage. "We camped in the back behind the pond in popup camper. Nice and quite back there and close to the bath house and wash station. There is more privacy between sites and lots of shade on the loop around the pond," recommends Erik E. about Erie KOA.

Dog friendly campgrounds near Conneaut: Many locations accommodate pets but have specific areas and rules. "Mostly seasonal campers here but some real nice reservable spots for short stays. Gravel pads but pretty level and lots of shade trees," notes Mike J. about Evergreen Lake Park, one of several pet-friendly campgrounds near Conneaut that maintain designated pet areas.
