    Niagara County Camping Resort

    Niagra County Camping Resort

Arrived late at night to this established site. This is a mixed accommodation campground with established long term residents & short term sites.

Some sites include a table, power access and tire rim for fire-ring. Showers & flushing toilets are near RV sites in back area. Small camp store, swimming pond & fishing pond. Manager, Christine very nice & helpful.

Campground is relatively close to scenic drives along Lake Ontario & Niagra State Park, Niagra Falls.

Ontario County Park at Gannett Hill

    Inexpensive, Peaceful.

I've stayed here on 3 separate occasions, twice in RV 12 and once in RV 6.

I used the 30 AMP hookup and had zero issues.

Beautiful playground for my son to enjoy and meet other kiddos. Deer, chipmunks and rabbits will say hi in the early and late hours.

    Large dumpsters near entrance.

Dump stations are present, but I haven't used them yet.

Potable water is present at a small spigot.

The washrooms facility is very close and speaking for the men's side, it had 2 stalls, 2 urinals, 2 showers, multiple sinks, and a sturdy baby changing station.

Hiking trails with gorgeous views of the valley within a 5 min walk of my campsite.

    Sleepy Hollow Lake Campground

    Kid friendly but Bee Problem

We had a lot of fun here and there’s a lot of activities for kids I would typically give this campsite 5 stars but our only problem was there were bees everywhere. I get some bees are apart of the camping experience and nature but we’ve never ran into this problem elsewhere. They were all over the campground it was very unpleasant and there was a nest under the playground we did advise management of.

    Hamlin Beach State Park Campground

    Relaxing 2 weeks

The camp store is closed along with no firewood and no laundry.

We stayed for 2 weeks and it was so relaxing. We loved biking through the loops and by the beach at the park. There was live music at the park during the week. The campground has an activity room full of things to do. As a state park, there are a lot of different people with different values, so be ready for the occasional obnoxious family. Our site was secluded and in the pines. We love it here and will definitely do this again!

    Stay Bristol Woodlands

    Well maintained and friendly Staff!

Campground is adorable, you can see a lot of other campers, but the spots are spaced out. Showers were nice, didn’t get to try the pool out as it was a quick stopover, but this seems like a fun place to spend some time

    Beaver Meadow Family Campground

    Ridiculous pool rule

The campgrounds are nice. The staff, friendly. Brought our RV so I didn’t see the bathrooms. We had a site that was “lake view” which was funny because it’s a pond. It was stocked so fishing was fun. They have a nice heated pool. My only real issue is the ridiculous two adult pool rule if you are with kids. We spent all day at the rodeo. We came back ready to swim after being in the sun all day. Of course my toddler fell asleep so I stayed with him at the campsite and my husband took our other two kids to the pool. They were able to swim for 15 mins before the other people who were at the pool took off. So it was just my husband and kids left. The lady working in the office came out and told them they had to get out because“there has to be two adults and one has to stay on deck”. Like, what?!? Seriously? That’s the stupidest rule I’ve ever heard. So he gets my very disappointed kids out of the pool and they are just hanging out pool side hoping for basically a stranger to come swim so they can swim. They waited nearly an hour before they got defeated and came back to the camper. Stupid rule. I’ve never seen any campground ever have that rule. If you are that worried about a solo parent taking care of their kids, hire a life guard. Or make that pool rule known prior to booking. My kids had life jackets on and my husband is CPR certified. Literally will never come here again because of this rule. Lame lame LAME.

What to do

Gorge hiking trails: At Stony Brook State Park Campground, visitors can explore waterfalls and scenic formations. "The gorge trail is very busy but you still can enjoy the beautiful waterfalls along with the gorge formation. We also did the east trail that goes up to the top of the gorge and is also a little further into the woods. It was much quieter up there and the views looking down from there were breathtaking," notes one visitor.

Water recreation activities: Conesus Lake Campground offers multiple water-based activities 20 miles from Perry. "Golf cart, paddle board and kayak rentals available. Campground is on a very steep hill so it is difficult to walk around," according to a recent camper.

Mini-golf and playgrounds: Jellystone Park of Western New York provides family entertainment options. "Put put was free. So many things to do with the kids. Heated pools. Beach was clean," mentions a visitor who appreciated the recreational facilities.

What campers like

Natural swimming areas: At Stony Brook State Park, campers enjoy a unique swimming option. "This park is beautiful and has a unique swimming area- a 'pool' carved from the mountain! There are lots of paths and picnic areas, as well as beautiful hiking trails and creeks to cool off in," shares a camper.

Pond fishing: The Ridge Campsite offers multiple fishing ponds for angling enthusiasts. "Sites are very big and clean has plenty to do with multiple fishing ponds, swimming pool and playgrounds. They have a nice little store for necessities and a snack shop," reports a camper.

Spacious campsites: Many campers appreciate the ample room at campgrounds near Perry. "The campground, which is about 15 miles from the major falls area, offers what many come to expect from state parks. There are a wide variety of campsites, all reservable online, which can accommodate lots of different types of camping, large RV's, small tents, and everything in between," explains a visitor to Letchworth State Park.

What you should know

Seasonal operation: Most campgrounds close by mid-October. "Darien Lakes State Park Campground operates from May 6 to October 16, with similar schedules at nearby state parks. Plan accordingly for early autumn camping as temperatures can drop into the 40s at night.

Weekend popularity: Campgrounds become significantly busier on weekends. "We were there on a weekday, told weekends are busy," notes a visitor to Darien Lakes State Park.

Wildlife considerations: Some campgrounds have reported small wildlife issues. At Stony Brook State Park, a camper reported: "Most of the camp areas washed out from rain with water running through them. Rats and mice all over. As we were walking back from a trail rats were jumping in to the underside of the car."

Tips for camping with families

Holiday weekends: Jellystone Park of Western New York offers special themed events. "We went on the 4th of July and they had amazing fireworks and activities galore for the kids. I would recommend this place to anyone," shares a visitor who enjoyed the festivities.

Budget-friendly options: Consider state parks for more affordable family camping. "This campground would be a good alternative to paying the high prices to stay at the theme park down the road," recommends a local camper about Darien Lakes State Park.

Clay activities: Natural resources provide unexpected entertainment. At Stony Brook State Park, a camper reports: "We picked blueberries off a bush near our campsite to have with our breakfast every morning. I love this place because it is a short drive from our home and we feel we are far away from the city."

Tips from RVers

Site access considerations: Some campgrounds have challenging access roads. "Driveway getting in and out is a little tight for big units, definitely have to swing wide," warns an RV camper at The Ridge Campsite.

Full hookup availability: For RVers seeking complete services, Dream Lake Campground offers electric, water, and sewer connections at most sites. "Nice friendly environment, clean facilities. Lots to do for kids and adults. Weekend activities," mentions an RV camper.

Alternative to theme park lodging: When visiting local attractions, state parks provide quieter camping alternatives. "This campground would be a good alternative to paying the high prices to stay at the theme park down the road," notes a visitor to Darien Lakes State Park.
