Best RV Parks & Resorts near Brant Lake, NY

Several RV parks near Brant Lake provide full hookup options for motorhomes and travel trailers. Lake George RV Park offers 50-amp service, cable TV, and water hookups from May through Columbus Day, with paved roads suitable for large rigs. Brookwood RV Resort in Ticonderoga accommodates big rigs with level gravel sites and full hookups. "Our site was level but some definitely were not," noted one visitor about Dorset RV Park, which operates from May through October with both 30-amp and 50-amp connections. Lake George Escape Campground features over 400 sites with varying degrees of privacy and size, though some areas have tight turns requiring careful maneuvering for larger motorhomes.

Pull-through sites are limited at most parks in the region, with back-in spots being more common. Cell service varies significantly throughout the Adirondack area, with several reviewers mentioning spotty coverage, particularly for AT&T customers. Many campgrounds close by mid-October, though Alpine Lake RV Resort remains open until October 10 with full hookup sites. Dump stations are available at most parks, with Lake George Riverview offering a convenient on-site station. Pet policies differ between facilities—most welcome dogs but impose restrictions on number or breed. During peak summer weekends and fall foliage season, advance reservations are essential as the Lake George area attracts substantial RV traffic.

    Lake George Riverview Campground

    Great River Access

This campground sits on the Schroon River just a few miles north of downtown Lake George and is very easy to access from I-87. They can accommodate any size camper from the 45’ motorhome with 50 amp service to a tent just wanting electric and water. All sites have cable TV hookup and free WiFi at their site along with a picnic table and fire rings. The park is not huge and it was pretty full so it felt a little cramped for us. There were quite a few seasonal people. Some sites back up to the river so you have a nice view. When the park if full, it can be a little cramped for big-rigs to back into some sites, especially the river ones. There are trees to navigate and some of the spots are tight.

Apparently, it is under new management and there are lots of changes that the new owners are proud of. But that also means there is a lot of on-going construction happening in the campground which was pretty annoying. Lots of dust and loud equipment certainly interrupted the thought of a peaceful afternoon outside. Many of the sites in the older section have sand/dirt patios and sandy roads which makes it very dusty. The new area has crushed gravel and lots more room and some pull-thru sites. They have the typical campground amenities like horseshoe pit, pavilion, playground, pool, and camp store. We typically don’t use any of those and they were closed anyway due to Covid-19 safety precautions. Had we stayed longer, we would have taken advantage of the river access and paddled. There is a little beach area and launching paddleboards, canoes, or kayaks would be very easy.  (They also have watercraft available to rent.)  We were more focused on hiking and enjoying the woods.(Recommend the short hike to the“Bear Slide.”)

Some of the things we didn’t like was the sandy/dirt which was a mess when it rained. You are supposed to leave your trash at the front of your site but sometimes it was not picked up until late in the day.  We found the bugs to be very pesky in the evening and didn't want to sit outside. Things we liked it the surrounding location and access to hiking trails and the river. Once the construction is complete and grass takes hold in some areas it will be really nice. Downtown Lake George is only about 4-5 miles away.

    Lake Bomoseen KOA

Fun, crowded, and running out of steam

This is a solid, family-friendly campground. It has the standard amenities plus some fun extras (arcade, mini-golf, boat rentals, etc.). However, all amenities are in worn shape. The playground is approaching dangerous, for instance (metal pipe sticking out of sandbox?) and the arcade was largely broken (ate a lot of quarters). Granted we were there for the last weekend of the camping season, but these appear to be longer term issues.

The camp store was great. Service was helpful and friendly.

Odd $10 CASH deposit for gate key that no one asked for. No ATM on site to get cash…

The sites are spacious enough, but are very close to each other. Zero buffer between neighboring sites means encroaching slide outs.

Cell services on ATT and TMobile were nonexistent. Campground WiFi is a joke (less than 1mbps).

Beautiful views of lake down by the dock, but campsites have no view.

Easy access to several great hikes and local restaurants.

    Lake George Riverview Campground

    Lots to do

Stayed 1 night passing thru. Mike and vicki were friendly. Electric and water hookups. WiFi was great. Cable tv hookups, also. Dump station on site was convenient. Also, they had propane there, so I topped off. Beautiful campground. They’ve clearly been upgrading. Roads have fresh gravel. Sites are level and clean. Bathrooms are clean. Get a site on the river 👌🏻. Very close to Lake George activities and attractions.

    Lake Placid/Whiteface Mountain KOA Holiday

    Amazing

This is a Class A 5⭐️KOA Campsite! We arrived late and Jox & his sweet wife helped us manuever our RV into our pull through site B05. We were super close to the office, store, snacks, laundry & activities. Our site was a “ dirt” site that had a picnic table and fire pit with full hook ups. This campsite has concierge service that will help you out with any of your wants/needs. Great site in nature’s finest.

    Brown Tract Pond Campground

Just what we needed. Rustic peace.

Beautiful, peaceful large pond/small lake. Loons. Ducks and ducklings. Beaver. Canoes($20/day) and kayak rentals. Firewood for sale ($9?) or gather downed wood. Fishing. Large sandy Adirondack beach and day use area. Pet friendly. Very friendly staff. Clean, stocked bathrooms/toilet with sink and soap. Well located water spigots. Nearby trails. Dump station. Boat launch (no motorboats allowed).

No hookups. No onsite showers (can use another Golden Beach Campground showers a few miles away.) No cell or internet. Maybe wifi near entrance?

Easiest access is from Raquette Lake. From the west you will drive over 5 miles on a dirt road (slow going if towing).

    Dorset RV Park

Decent campground in a good location

We thought this park was o.k.– nothing special but nothing bad but we really wanted to see the area since we were told the town of Dorset was so pretty. When we checked in, there was a sign that personnel were working in the park and there was a phone number for us to call. They responded right away and met us at the office and showed us where our site was.

The campground was clean and tidy with nice tall trees. The roads and campsites are gravel and a little tight to get around because of all the trees but we were able to manage in our 45’ motorhome. There were a scattering of amenities like a rec room with games, shuffleboard, playground, volleyball, horseshoes, laundry, and showers. There are community activities like bonfires, bingo, pot luck dinners, and complementary donuts& coffee every Sunday morning.

Our site was level but some definitely were not. We got twenty or so television channels with the cable hookup. The hookups were all well-placed and we didn’t have any issues with the electric and the wifi at our site worked well. We had a picnic table and fire pit. The sites next to us were not occupied which was nice because otherwise it would have felt a little tight. We did notice a bit of road noise when sitting outside. There are some really nice tent sites set away from the RV sites that sit under large trees and have nice space. The only drawback is they are farther away from the bathrooms.

Loved the area, the Green Mountains are beautiful so there is plenty of sightseeing to do. Dorset is a cute tiny town that is beautiful in the fall. The nearby town of Manchester is home to Orvis and there is an interesting fly fishing museum next door. Overall, the park was fine for us and we would stay again if we were in the area. We paid ($47/night) for our full hookup, 50-amp site.

    Lake Bomoseen KOA

    Many Features But Road Noise

The Campground has a nice staff, a very well appointed general store, laundry, arcade, marina with boat rentals, mini theater, and indoor mini put. Most of the sites are wooded and nice. Somehow we managed to get the one pull through spot that was at the end and harder to get in. I was surprised how much road noise we heard inside of our trailer. The internet speed fluxuates and was slow to unusable our last day. I could not get the cable TV working. All in all it is a nice Campground and most of it (the back in spaces) look nice and wooded. I would stay here again despite the small inconveniences but I would definately pick a different camp site. Again, you will hear some road noise.
