TravelerIt is beautifully quiet here! We are at site 2 and it’s right on the water! Good space in between sites. Lots of privacy! The light breeze coming off the mountains is absolutely perfect! Will definitely be coming back!
ScoutCampground is giant which causes it to be very busy. Little to no activities for kiddos. The pool is the main attraction and really great but gets very very busy. No one was controlling the slides so kids were going down in multiples and not making sure no one was at the bottom. The campground is very hilly and kids are ripping around in pedal and motorized bikes and scooters which is fine but no control at all in regards to speed and helmets. No WiFi or cell service except by the pool which can be hard if you need to be contacted. Cable tv at sites was available and intermittent quality. Sites are ok - nothing that I would say was amazing. All are spacious and generally shaded and flat. You can see all your neighbors but noise level wasn’t terrible. There were a lot of dogs - again totally fine but many barked all day when their owners were away. Bathrooms needed attention and got a bit gross by the pool. On site poolside cafe was ok - basic fried items and ice cream. Golf carts are kind of a must if staying in far away sites and they are very slow - no issue there but no power steering. Staff were very nice and helpful. I would stay again if I had more off site things planned.
TravelerStayed here overnight before day hiking at the nearby falls. Seemed a little expensive for what it was, but mostly tranquil. A few trees separate sites. Friendly staff made a point to find me a level site. Nice bathhouse including outdoor kitchen washing area. Connects to trail network.

TravelerThere are 15 tent sites along the water, and a quick walk from the parking area. There is no running water, only a porta potty but it was great for a place to stay the night while exploring the white mountains

GuideThis was among the mist beautiful campsites I have ever stayed at. Large sites with space between neighbors. We had enough privacy to open the shade on our big picture window on our tiny teardrop and fall asleep looking at the stars. Download an area map before you arrive, we lost cell service on the way here and couldn’t rely on navigation. Friday and Saturday nights were fully booked. On Sunday, people could drive in and pick a spot. You need cash if you pay at the entrance. Lots of license plates from NH, MA, ME. On Sugarloaf trail, we encountered lots of first-timers and lots of repeat customers.
TravelerWe had a great stay at coos canyon campground! Didn't have too much interaction with staff, but when we did they were very friendly. We had site 7. Sites are good size, and not super close to neighbors. Wifi only works at the camp store, there are extenders throughout the camp, and it worked at our site the first day but didn't after that. The office was surprised it worked for us on day 1 and said they couldn't fix it because it wasn't supposed to work. There isnt any activities like some other campgrounds we've been to, just a small playground, but the canyon and the river give you lots of outdoor things to do. Rent a pan or sluice from the coos canyon rock and gem shop a 3 min walk from the office and pan for gold in the river right from the campground! Fishing, hiking, cliff jumping, and swimming can all be done with a quick walk all while staying in the campground. The camp store has some bare necessities, but did not have any bug swatters (the horse flys can get crazy here) but a spatula from the camp store worked OK. We will definetly be back for some more gold prospecting!
