Best RV Parks & Resorts near Lima, MT

Lima, Montana provides several RV-friendly campgrounds with varying amenities and access options. Mountain View Motel and RV Park offers full hookup sites with electric, water, and sewer connections, while Countryside RV Park in nearby Dillon remains open year-round with big-rig friendly pull-through sites. "Sites are nice and level with steel picnic tables and fire rings with grill grates," noted one visitor about the area's campgrounds. Southside RV Park operates seasonally from March through December, featuring spacious sites with 30/50-amp service, and Clark Canyon Recreation Area provides lakeside RV camping with electric hookups and boat access approximately 15 miles south of Dillon.

Between Lima and Dillon, most RV parks maintain gravel pads that accommodate larger rigs, though leveling may be necessary at some locations. Cell service varies significantly throughout the region, with stronger coverage near Interstate 15 and diminished signals in canyon areas. According to one camper, "We had great cell coverage with Verizon" at Clark Canyon Recreation Area. Dump stations are available at most established RV parks, including Mountain View and Southside, while some parks like Beaverhead River RV Park also offer additional amenities such as laundry facilities and a camp store. Summer weekends typically see higher occupancy rates, particularly at reservoir-adjacent campgrounds, making advance reservations advisable during peak season.

    Stoddard Creek Campground

    Beautiful park in the wood

We stayed at this campground for one night on July 22, 2018.

There are two levels, the lower one is for non-reserved and sits along the sometimes dusty road, and the upper is reserved and very green. The upper is much nicer with some of the cleanest best smelling pit toilets we've ever seen. We considered additional nights as it was so nice. Our neighbors were planning on one night as well but had remained for 6 nights.

We had a very nice pull through site #6, with a level graveled area for the large picnic table and separate stove stand.  The fire pit was also located in this area but safely away from the table. The green meadows, surrounding trees, and excellent maintenance made this a beautiful campground.

As a note both AAA and Google routed us to exit 180 and we drove for 4 miles on sometimes paved, sometimes gravel road to arrive. When we got within a quarter mile of the campground, we came to exit 184 which was right at the campground (no gravel travel required)

    Beaverhead River RV Park

Older RV Park used to be a KOA

We stayed here twice this year, once going North and then headed South for home.  First time they put us in a full hook-up that was to small so I asked for a bigger spot and because about 1/3rd of the spots were empty, they moved me.  Owner was very friendly and willing to find us a better spot.  Second time was on Sunday and the note on door put us in an even smaller full hook-up, despite me asking for a bigger site so I wouldn't have to unhook.  This is one reason for only three stars.  Office was closed and no one answered the phone or returned our call.  The site was totally unacceptable.  Even if I un-hooked there was not enough room to park the pick-up truck.  Left several messages, no response.  We moved to an empty water/electric only site and set up.  An hour later another camper came in and said we were in their spot.  We moved again to another spot hoping no one would claim it.  Still no response from owner.  I guess camp is unsupervised on Sunday.  Maybe owner was out of town.

Second reason for only three stars:  Camp is older and full hook-up sites are close to each other.  I did not see any 50 amp, only 30 amp.  The openings for dumping are a couple of inches below ground level and the kind you just point the hose down and put a few rocks over to hold it down.  Gravel sites that are mostly level.

The Good:  The water and electric only sites in the back (spots 28 to 36) of the park are long and spread out.  I recommend if you can go without having sewer connection, the ones in back (spots 28 to 36) are the best to stay in.  Don't get the ones in front.  Big trees and lots of grass (but watch out for the gofer holes).  Quiet and peaceful night.

Did not use their restrooms or showers or pool (may not have been open) so no comment.  There is a dump site.  Wifi was 17 mbs but slowed down in the evening.  We use AT&T and got two bars of 5G.

    Stoddard Creek Campground

    In the woods

This campground has pull through and back in RV sites as well as group sites and tent. It is wooded with some trails to explore. Dumpsters, pit toilets and potable water are available. The camp host was very helpful and friendly. For $13.00 per night, you can't beat it!

    BLM Skull Canyon Road Dispersed

    Dispersed Camping in a Canyon

Coordinartes: 44.16547,-112.90392. Beautiful views. Large dirt and gravel site, right along side to Skull Canyon Road, about a mile from ID Hwy 28. Canyon walls on each side. Rough narrow rocky track to the site from the highway; recommend high clearance. High humps on this track. Small rock fire ring. Grass and sagebrush all around site. Some leveling may be required. Tent camping possible. Very peaceful; can hardly hear road noise from highway. The only vehicle that drove by was a national forest truck. No cell service. There are several boondocking sites, some with vault toilets nearby, along Hwy 28 in the Birch Creek Recreation Area.

Beaverhead National Forest Price Creek Campground

In love with this national forest!

Lovely camp grounds, this was a last minute decision and so glad we stayed here. Nice level spot with picnic table and fire pit. Bathrooms with pit toilets but no running water or showers. No hookups...Plenty of spots available and it was peaceful. We like to be spread out from our neighbors and you are here!

It is also close to Coolidge ghost town if you want to check it out. That is ultimately what brought up out this way and what a neat place to hike!

    Southside RV Park

Reasonable price and a great place to stop over for the night

I'm giving this four stars as a quick stopover point- nothing against the resort but Dillon isn't a place we could find much to stay longer term for.  We had a really clean, level gravel site- that was a pull through, for $45 a night.  Fair price and as others have said, the park is clean and very convenient.  Our site was an end site and therefore felt pretty roomy.  During our stay the wifi was pretty horrible, so much so I'd say you should plan to bring your own internet connectivity.  Lastly, there is pretty decent shade on most sites.

    East Creek Campground

    Whole valley to myself

Awesome campground with simple access from Lima, well maintained and primo location. Couldn’t get the hand pump well to draw any water but creek access at the base of the CG area is easy. The views of Lima peaks are unbeatable.

    Countryside RV Park

    Countryside for one night

The sites are good sized and easy to pull through. Gravel road in good condition. No trees and in a wide open location. Water was available but not yet turned on so we could not hook up. Electric was fine. It did have sewer but we did not use it. Bathrooms were very small with curtain stalls that hit your knees. Sorry, I don’t remember seeing showers. This location is beautiful but can be very windy. We were there on a very windy night. Grounds seemed in good condition.
