Okay site on Salmon River--HOT in July

Simple campground along Salmon River--beautiful setting, with maybe 5 spaces, not all of which are marked well but do have picnic tables to indicate. Also a vault toilet at loop campground. Buggy, even with river flowing and slight wind. Free, which is nice. Can hear US93 traffic, but not bad considering neighbor ran generator which drowned out some noise.

        Correct location

I stayed here for one night. It is $5 per night. I had decent Verizon signal. There were at least eight camping areas. While I stayed here about half were full. The camping limit for this area is 14 days. There is a camping host that lives here so you cannot overnight park for free. There is river access. The only plot that I found that I could use my hammock at was plot 8. Just because of the lack of strong trees.

        Quite and simple Part 2

As the previous camper indicated, this is a quiet and lovely Campground. Please note I found only one site with electrical hookup. Currently, there is no water at any sites. Vault toilets are located throughout. Fees are $12 with $6 discount if you have Federal/Natl Park Golden Pass.

        Amazing Management Nice Location

The management is absolutely incredible! This place is perfect. Access to river to look at great! Renamed to Andreas on the River.

The management helped us get in and made sure we were good. Super 5 stars! Great location near River for rafting. (30 min drive)

The other visitors are a little opinionated and like to share their opinions on your RV.

Super loved it all day! Stay there!

Dog park area is not fenced in. Nice place for them to do business.

Lovely campground in the trees with a small creek

This campground was lovely. We had spot 14, which is an excellent spot with lots of room, easy access to a vault toilet and lovely background noise from the creek. Camp hosts are very welcoming and accommodating.

        Awesome spring camping!

The camp grounds were not busy, and no mosquitoes right now. Fishing was slow but we caught fish. Saw lots of animals even a video of a Grizzly not but 3 miles from the camp grounds. Another camper had the video of the Grizzly from the night before!

        Overnight with dogs

Pulled over mid day to spend the afternoon and night. We took the second to last spot on the river side. Arrived at noon on a Tuesday, departed at 8am next day and were the only campers. Very easy river access from site, but water is moving quickly. We walked to the other side of the bridge and let our dogs jump in where the water was calmer. Overall really clean and well maintained space. The only thing that will prevent us from coming back is the cottonwood tree droppings. They’re everywhere and very sticky, so if you have long haired dogs, it’s a nightmare to get them out.

        Came back!

Awesome campground, the camp host is friendly and making rounds to ensure the bathrooms are stocked and that everyone is enjoying their time. We camped at number 5 last time, and we just got done camping at number 15 for the weekend. Crystal park is not thst far and the Wise river is right after it. Also vheck out Elkhorn hotsprings th a ts the next turn for a natural spring nad suana. Can't wait to camp here again. The picture below will show you our camp set up sadly Teo fridns had to take off earlier before photos. We easily fit 4 tents and had 2 dogs with us. The site provides shared food storages, also vualt toilets, and drinkable water at the faucets through out the camp ground. It was 25 a night for 3 vehicles so we spent 50 in total. Another perk if you need or forgot something go to Ma's store it has a bit of everything. It's just on the other side of the lodge in Grasshopper.

        What a GORGEOUS place!!

After riding ID75, it was time to find camp. Sure there are a bazillion to choose from along the highway, but I wanted to soak in the highly reviewed waters. I was NOT disappointed!!! Beautiful lawn, one of the freshest hot springs I’ve visited, and great campers. Side not: this place was recently purchased/handed over to the Idaho State Parks system.

        Very nice

The campground is very nice, it was clean and had 2 water taps available. You can hear the creek at night, which is a huge plus for me. They have mutiple food storages available that are shared. There wasn't any firewood that was easy to find. I recommend bringing your own or running to Ma's County Market. For kiln dried wood, it doesn't last long, but you can cook with it.. The cost was 15.00 USD a night with 5 dollars more per vehicle. Site 5 could park 4 vehicles easy. The rest can only fit 2. Bigger parites can go to the group campground in the front. Number five could park about six cars easy. Also you could pitch about 7 to 9 tents on it.

        Hot, hot and hot

I would not recommend end of July/ August. Temps 100 and no breeze. Plenty to see if traveling in vehicle like bighorn sheep, whitetail deer and bald eagles. Recommend a visit to the firefighter memorial at Indian river FS training camp.

        Nice fishing lake

Nice little campsite near a small, quiet fishing lake. About 5 sites here with a pit toilet. No cell service. 10 mile rocky road in, but saw a fifth wheel, so its not impassable by any means! There’s also South Van Houten on the other side, but I can’t imagine this serene little patch of heaven gets too full. Saw folks swimming, fishing, and boating in the lake.

        Lovely lakeside camping for free!

Nice small camping area with about 5 sites, complete with picnic tables and fire rings with grills. It was a fairly long drive down a somewhat road but wide gravel road, but I did see a truck with a big fifth wheel on it, so you can definitely do it!

Fishing in lake, just no motorized boats. Pit toilets. Pretty area!

Just what I was looking for!!

This camp site was great. We visited the lake that was maybe 5 minutes away from the sites and swam out to a little island to cliff jump! It was a beautiful and well kept site. I would definitely recommend taking a reliable car because the road is a little difficult to the sites, but worth it.

        Beautiful!

Large, flat sites - many of which are right on the water.  Gorgeous views with the lakes nestled between mountains!  Plenty of space between sites.  Great hiking trail.  We didn't fish, but we watched others catch many trout out of kayaks with fly rods.  There were about ten sites (and the cabin) full while we were there over a weekend.  Vault toilets.  No hook-ups.  Long, bumpy road going in and out.

        Just Awesome

Awesome little campground next to Grasshopper Creek. There aren’t many sites here but we were lucky enough to get two. Each space has plenty of room for the kids to run around and play. Caught a few fish on the fly too. Mosquitos were bad, no surprise there with the creek close by. The ghost town is a must see!

        Peaceful, Salmon River, Fabulous Owner

We stayed two nights in this delightful peaceful campground. The owner was incredibly nice, accommodating and kept this place so well-maintained. Extremely clean nice laundry room with coin operated machines, central dump area the sites are just water and electric, very nice grass around the gravel sites perfect for dogs. The vistas are spectacular, the river is crystal clear over rocks and floating down on either and include plateable kayak, raft, or canoe is very doable. Restaurant across the street that has a pretty patio really really nice town. This is a more remote town but an excellent stop. We will come here again.

        Scenic and Peaceful

So close to a five star campground if it were not for the swarming mosquitoes anywhere in the shade. Grounds were well taken care of, owners so very nice and helpful, showers and restrooms spotless and free, great little laundry room, and cute gift shop. Lots of boat launches up and down river for kayaking.very peaceful. One down side was the lack of nice swimming area in the campground. Spots were side by side so little in the way of privacy. Wi-Fi was weak but worked. No cell service for Verizon. Nearest town with groceries etc. is in Salmon so stock up before you go.

        Peaceful and Idyllic

We set up our daughter in our Super C here for 2 months while she worked in nearby Salmon during the busy season. We were so happy with the beautiful scenery, quiet grounds, and excellent service from the owner. If she ever needed anything, they were happy to help. There is a clean laundry room, showers, and bathrooms onsite, and more than enough space for a 40 foot RV. There are shade trees, some grass sites, some landscape rock sites, picnic tables, a gas firepit, and an onsite mini-store if you need. The owner waited for us until we arrived, helped us get our bearings, and then grew to be a friend. If you are needing to camp(even in a tent!) anywhere near Salmon, Idaho, you need to go and see Stewart at Elk Bend RV Park. Say hi to the deer that roam the area, too, or walk across the street and listen to the Salmon River. Just a beautiful area! Sites with full hookups and not. Would not hesitate to recommend Elk Bend RV Park.

        Pet Friendly!
