On the upside there is a sweet playground, really cute buildings, and a little walk down to Rock Creek. Restaurant is closed.
GuideWe camp d down the road at Eckstrom’s but I walked down to check out the free spot, having chafed at spending $53 for no water/no electric. In a word, I was wrong to have pushed for heading to Rock Crerk— we would have felt really uncomfortable crossing even the first bridge, which had a bit out of it’s concrete edge, as though it had been hit by an elephant-sized tumbling boulder. On the upside, locals I ran into there love the fly-fishing at this site. If you have a passenger car, it’s passable— if you don’t mind rolling the dice.
ScoutThis is a nice spot to pull off for the night. Close to interstate and train tracks, so a bit noisy. Lots of sites to choose from, and there was free firewood in June of 2025.
ScoutGreat little campground across the road from the hot spring pools. The lady who answered the phone and ran the check in desk was really nice and helpful! Sites are a litttle close together, but to be expected at a resort style place. There was an access spot to the creek/river and firewood was sold by the armload ($12).
TravelerThis is a great little spot if you are passing through. It’s located conveniently between glacier and Yellowstone for a halfway stop right off the highway. We arrived late afternoon set up and enjoyed watching the water. There are plenty of sites here. I don’t think it likely fills up completely very often. Quiet and enjoyable. Payment is a cash box. It’s only $10 per night or 25 if you want to use the hook up.
ScoutStraight forward Clean and quiet
GuideTent campsites are awkward, very uneven small sites to place a tent. Showers cost extra on top of the $28 per nite cost. Facilities are clean but smell. Lake is gorgeous, great place to jump off and do other things in the area. But if I were to do it again I would stay at Holland Lake CG. Site 20 is one of the better sites for ideal large tent placement.
ScoutThis was a great place to stop for the night. Each site has a picnic table and a fire ring. Check in was easy. The campground is clean and people are quiet. It is very close to the highway which makes it easily accessible for a one night stop while driving through. With a senior access pass I was able to pay half price ( $7.50 as opposed to $15 (.
RangerWe were here last year. We got a bit of a surprise when we checked in as the price went up from $32 to $42 a night for a dry spot. Even though we use the same spot, our camp represented insisted on riding her bicycle to show us where our spot was. There are no extra porta potties in the back this time. The river is at the end of the property but only has walking access. The bathrooms are spotless the same as last year. In the men's washroom there's only one toilet, a urinal, three sinks and two shower stalls. The water in the shower varies in temperature depending on whether someone has turned on the water or flushed the toilet. They have some very strict rules about where your dog is allowed to go to the bathroom. They have designated areas so that I felt like I needed to carry my cocker spaniel there to adhere to the rules. Seems about 60% full in the second half of May. They have a mini golf course.
