Best RV Parks & Resorts near Bloomfield, MO

Several RV parks near Bloomfield, Missouri provide full hookup options for motorhome travelers. Hinton RV Park in Sikeston offers big-rig friendly sites with 50-amp electric, water, and sewer connections. Camelot RV Campground in Poplar Bluff maintains 76 sites with year-round availability and accommodates large rigs on gravel pull-through pads. Wildwood RV Park in Dexter features 50-amp service and sanitary dump facilities but lacks shower and restroom buildings. Cypress Creek RV Park provides more basic amenities with electric hookups, water connections, and sewer service on relatively level sites. "Sites are pretty much gravel and dirt. At $40 per night, the price felt a bit high for the amenities offered. We were there during dusty conditions, and friends came through a week later in the rain, and the campground was muddy."

Most RV parks in the region maintain accessible entrances from major highways, though some require navigation through small towns with multiple traffic lights. Cell service varies considerably between locations, with Verizon typically providing 1-3 bars of coverage and T-Mobile offering slightly better connectivity in certain areas. Propane fill service is available at select locations including Camelot RV Campground. Dump stations are present at Hinton RV Park, Wildwood RV Park, and Bootheel RV Park for those staying at partial-hookup sites. Pet policies generally allow animals throughout the parks, though some restrict certain breeds or require leashes. Winter travelers should note that while several parks remain open year-round, Bootheel RV Park operates seasonally from March through November, and some facilities may have reduced services during colder months.

    Magnolia Campground & Country Store

    Highlights

    🌳 Highlights

Welcome & Hospitality Newly opened in October 2020 and family-run by Rick & Glenda Wilson, guests often highlight their warm, friendly service . One reviewer said:

    > “Owners and staff all super friendly, engaging and kind.”

Campground Quality Features include full hookups (30/50 amp, water, sewer), gravel pull-through sites for big rigs (up to ~43 ft), free WiFi, dump station, propane fill, fire pits, picnic tables, laundry, and a shower house .

On‑site Country Store & Deli A notable perk is the store with fresh deli items and daily lunch specials—particularly Friday catfish dinners—plus occasional breakfast on Saturdays .

    ⭐ Guest Reviews Snapshot

    Mick & Karla (30 Mar 2025)

Booked same-day, chose pull-through site, enjoyed 40 psi water, decent WiFi/cell service.

Friendly staff and solid amenities, though gravel/dirt sites got dusty or muddy depending on weather.

Road noise from nearby I‑57 noted. Felt $40/night was a bit high.

    CatTrailzz (24 Jul 2024)

Quiet despite being near the freeway. Loves the deli (noting salads and pulled pork).

    Clean facilities, new shower room.

    Plans to stay again.

    QueenMartell (16 Mar 2024)

    Friendly check-in, excellent service.

Accommodated a 43 ft fifth wheel with ease.

Highly recommends, loves the Friday catfish.

Other reviewers (Kitty, Kyla D, Tergeo)

Consistently mention friendly owners, clean/gravel sites, good common areas, and a strong likelihood to return .

    Pros & Cons

    👍 Pros 👎 Cons

Warm, personal service Sites are gravel/dirt—can be dusty or muddy Full hookups and big‑rig friendly Road noise from I‑57 On-site deli with fresh food & catfish dinners Wi-Fi and cell coverage are serviceable but not exceptional Clean shower/laundry facilities Price (~$39–40/night) might be a bit high for basic amenities

    Summary

Magnolia Campground is a great overnight or short-term stop if you’re looking for friendly hospitality, solid basic RV hookups, and the novelty of a country store with good food in southeast Missouri. It’s particularly suited for large RVs, travelers who enjoy a welcoming vibe, and those who appreciate a Friday catfish dinner. It’s not a destination resort, so if you're seeking plush amenities or a quiet nature getaway, plan accordingly.

    Bottom Line

If you're rolling through with an RV and want a hassle-free, friendly, quick stay with full hookups and good food, Magnolia is a solid choice. For longer stays, be prepared for gravel underfoot and some road noise—but clean facilities and warm hosts might still make it worth it.

    Magnolia Campground & Country Store

    Very Good Customer Service

This review is based on a short stay rather than a destination campground (CG) experience. We found this CG while looking for options near Sikeston, MO, and decided to try it based on positive online reviews. Booking was easy with a same-day reservation, and we received an email with directions, the WiFi password, and instructions to pick any site between 8 and 13, designated for big rigs and short-term stays, as most of the other sites were occupied by longer-term residents. We chose pull-through site #11 with full hookups (FHU) due to its convenient angle. All of the sites, including the shorter back-ins, offer FHU. Our site accommodated our 40’ fifth wheel and F450 truck comfortably, with centrally located utilities and 40 psi water pressure. The WiFi was sufficient for checking emails and general browsing, while cell service was limited to 1 bar on Verizon and 3 bars on T-Mobile. With few trees, satellite reception wouldn’t be an issue. During our stay, we were the only short-term guests. Some sites had picnic tables and fire pits, and while ours did not, we could have moved them if desired. The CG has a nice shower house and laundry facility, but the real draw is the country store, which operates more like a restaurant. The owner and staff were exceptionally friendly, and the food was good. The sites are pretty much gravel and dirt. At $40 per night, the price felt a bit high for the amenities offered. We were there during dusty conditions, and friends came through a week later in the rain, and the CG was muddy. Along with the country store with a restaurant, there’s a dump station, plus they sell ice and propane. Being located along a frontage road off I-57, road noise was noticeable. Overall, we had a pleasant overnight stay and appreciated their hospitality.

    Bootheel RV Park

    Good Overnighter

We tried to get into an Arkansas park but they were full so we headed into Bootheel where we’ve stayed before. We called about 2 hours out and the only sites left were 30 AMP with water. GPS takes you to the campground right off I-55, but there are directions on their website that are better as far as which exit to take. Upon arrival, there are envelopes in a brown box with the available site numbers on the envelopes. We walked around to look at each site and decided on site 12. You complete the required information on the envelope, include your payment and drop it off in the drop box. The park prefers a cash payment but you can leave credit card information on the payment envelope. They do offer a Good Sam Discount. Site 12 was an easy pull through with 30 amp and water only. Parking was easy. Once set up, we found out we were blowing the breaker with only 1 aircon running, and it killed that side of the post. We plugged into site 11 on the shared post with the same results but this time we only blew the post breaker. We got a hold of the owner and she got the maintenance guy to us really quick. Come to find out, it was our 30 AMP surge protector that was the problem. Hats off to park management for a quick response. The last row has the 50 AMP FHU sites. The first three rows in the park are 30 AMP with a mix of FHUs and water & electric. We got 2 bars on AT&T and Verizon. The last time we stayed here last January they stated they were getting new park WiFi and this time the WiFi worked much better. There’s no cable but we got quite a few OTA channels. There was plenty of area to walk our dogs along the adjacent cotton fields. They also had a very nice laundry facility that was decently priced. There is quite a bit of road noise from I-55. We dumped on the way out at their dump station that only has a dump and no water for a cleaning hose. As we are based near St. Louis, MO area and traveling to northern Mississippi once a year for RV maintenance, this no frills campground makes a perfect overnighter.

Pinewoods Lake Rec Area — Mark Twain National Forest

    Easy access, private sites

Stopped here while passing through Missouri on a Saturday on 4th of July weekend and there were only 3 other campers when we arrived late afternoon. The sites are nice and big with picnic tables and fire rings, even a few “doubles” that would fit two big rigs side by side. The trail around the lake makes for a nice short walk with the dogs and it was surprisingly not terribly buggy for July. No hook-ups, which was the only downside since it was so hot and my Husky demands AC in the summer!

    Greenville - Lake Wappapello

    A great COE campground

If you've camped before at a COE campground you expect a quality experience. This one is no exception. It has paved drives and paved sites with a concrete pad for the fire ring and picnic table along with a hook for your lantern. They are also full hookups.

The place is very clean as well as the restrooms. There are plenty of things to do right from the campground including a paved bike trail into Greenville. We spent two days in early November and just about had the park to ourselves.

Cell service was adequate but not great.

    Cypress Creek RV Park

    Great for the Night

If you are traveling on I 57 or I 55 this is a great over night stay.  Beautiful Campground but not to many amenities.  IT does have the best internet we have had in 3 months.  Love the trees and nice level sites.  It has a few run down long term campers, but they don't over run the place.

    Redman Creek Recreation Area

    Best place to camp

This is a Army Corps of Engineers campground. We love it because it is quite and peaceful. The sites are well maintained with asphalted pads, fire pit, grill, camp light pole and picnic table. Best of all it is full hook up. Redman West traditionally has older campers (sites 1-40)but Redman east usually has more kids (sites 41-109) (currently under remodel 2023 season). Both sides are family friendly. We camp Redman West March to November.

Guide to Bloomfield

RV sites near Bloomfield, Missouri provide varying amenities and experiences for travelers exploring Southeast Missouri's flat Mississippi River alluvial plain. Most campgrounds in this region sit at elevations between 300-400 feet above sea level and experience hot, humid summers with mild winters. Several parks remain open year-round despite seasonal flooding concerns, particularly in spring months when rainfall peaks.

What to do

Kayaking at Lake Wappapello: Located 35 miles northwest of Bloomfield at Asher Creek Campground, the 8,400-acre lake offers excellent paddling opportunities. "We kayaked out to an island and did some fishing. We didn't catch anything, but it was relaxing," reports Amy S.

Walking trails near campsites: Some RV parks connect to community walking paths. "There was a public paved walking trail along the back of the CG, which was very nice to walk the dogs. There was also a 2 acre fishing pond for CG residents to use," notes MickandKarla W. about their stay at Cape Camping.

Fishing opportunities: Many camping areas offer fishing access. "The lake is great to swim in - very clean bottom and not slimy at all. We did take our kayaks and paddled around a little but mostly stayed on beaches and swam," writes Tammy A. about Lake Wappapello.

What campers like

Clean facilities: Travelers consistently mention appreciation for well-maintained bathhouses. "The bathroom/bath house was brand new and so very nice! Loved the huge fire pits for sitting around and watching the sun set over the lake," notes Tammy A. from Asher Creek Campground.

Level sites: Many campgrounds feature fairly level pads. "Site 12 was an easy pull through with 30 amp and water only. Parking was easy," mentions MickandKarla W. about Bootheel RV Park.

Strong connectivity: Several parks offer better-than-average internet access. "We got 3 bars each on Verizon and AT&T... the WiFi was way above normal," reports MickandKarla W. about their stay at Cape Camping, while another camper noted Cypress Creek RV Park "has the best internet we have had in 3 months."

What you should know

Seasonal closures and conditions: Not all parks operate year-round. Bootheel RV Park runs seasonally from March through November. "When we arrived at the campground, there was a sign at the self check-in that there was no water due to the recent heavy rains and flooding," reports MickandKarla W.

Weather impacts: The region experiences seasonal flooding that affects campground conditions. "Sites are very level, and everyone in the campground is only a short walk from the cleanest park restrooms I've ever seen," notes Madelyn H. about Asher Creek Campground.

Mixed site conditions: Surface quality varies between parks. "If you're like me and are just doing basic tent camping, I'd recommend a pop-up canopy for the table area since there is not a lot of tree cover in those sites," advises Madelyn H.

Tips for camping with families

Check shade availability: Some campgrounds offer limited tree cover. "All sites at Asher Creek loop have water views. Most of the sites have little to no shade during they day but as the sun goes down you have plenty of shade at the sites," explains Tammy A.

Look for swimming access: Natural swimming areas provide recreation for kids. "The beach area is mostly natural rocks and dirt," notes Tammy A. about Lake Wappapello State Park.

Visit during off-peak times: For quieter experiences, consider weekdays or shoulder seasons. "Tent camped here during the week in June and the campground was only about 1/3 full. Quiet and the restrooms and showers were very clean," shares James W.

Tips from RVers

Arrival timing matters: Plan ahead for self-check-in procedures. "We called about 2 hours out and the only sites left were 30 AMP with water... Upon arrival, there are envelopes in a brown box with the available site numbers on the envelopes," explains MickandKarla W. about Bootheel RV Park.

Consider power needs: Many parks offer varying electrical service. "If you're driving E/W, standard MSP rates and setup... from April to September, you're gonna want electric so you can run AC (or at least a fan), Missouri humidity is not a joke," advises Grant M.

Check hook-up reliability: Electrical systems can experience issues. "The last row has the 50 AMP FHU sites. The first three rows in the park are 30 AMP with a mix of FHUs and water & electric," notes MickandKarla W. about their experience at Bootheel RV Park.
