Point Pleasant Campground offers basic toilets for RVs but has limited amenities. George P. Cossar State Park Campground features waterfront RV sites, fifty-amp electrical hookups and accommodates larger vehicles. Persimmon Hill Campground on Enid Lake provides full hookup sites with 30/50 amp service and sewer connections.

    Persimmon Hill(enid Lake)

    Persimmon Hill Campground

What a great park. Or should I say another great COE park. This is the cleanest park we've seen. Very big rig friendly with large concrete pads with a little extra room for a boat or toad. Great vieas of the lake, which is said to be one of the best crappie lakes in the United States.$20.00 a night for full hook up and the geezer card bring it to$10.00. Can't beat that! Both ATT& Verizon came in strong. Did not try OTA TV. Shower facilities were also great with plenty of hot water and very clean facilities. Although you can hear Hwy 55 on a clear, calm night the route to the park isa bit tricky, as a bridge is out. But should be completed by this spring, I was told. Will definitely return. But keep in mind, we stayed a couple of days and left before the weekend. A quick walk around the park showed almost every site was reserved for the weekend starting Thursday. A popular park and worth it.

    Could be Special

A great little spot with water and electric , pull through and some back in sites . It was very warm but we knew that , would go back in different seasons , easy place to walk to to fish and or swim opposite of the boat ramp . Quiet hardly any through traffic , good Verizon service with our booster . Clean bathrooms and showers .

Relaxing Area - Can be Busy!

Rolling hills in Mississippi but all the sites are level concrete pads with water and electric (50A). There are three circles each with their own dump station and paved roads. Loop 1-36 over looks Grenada Lake with several sites having nice water access. Many have great views but I really liked 14 and 17. Loop 37-61 used to be the tent loop so the sites were a bit closer and the road was less big rig friendly but still quite nice. We were in site 50. The other loop, 62-88, over looks a pond with a swimming area and two fishing piers. Each loop has 10 first come sites so about 60% are reservable. If you have reservations, remember your site number since there is no one working at the gate (there is none).

This place was full of families for the Memorial Day weekend. We just relaxed and did a little people watching. The cg is right next to the earthen dam that you drive over to go to the town of Grenada. Grenada Lake is quite nice with a few day use areas and a State Park CG on the banks of the Outflow Channel. There is a Visitor Center on the other side of the dam that has a nice view of the dam and lake. Within the cg, there is a dam to form a pond. You have to drive over that dam to get to one of the loops. Kinda crowded but a nice place to ride bikes, at least all the kids thought so. Golf carts are popular with the locals.

    Hernando Point

    Overnight stay

Enjoyed a quick, cost effective, full hookup overnight stay. Reserved same day thru recreation.gov app. Site was marked and had fair amounts of room to back in. Site was level enough without having to add any blocks. Site 1 dips down on the entry side where the picnic table and fire pit was located, so not much room to put down any outdoor items close to the rig. View was beautiful but the shoreline is a little tricky to get to. Good shade coverage and the area appeared to be cleaned and maintained. Large grass area for our fur babies to enjoy and explore. Only downside was Verizon coverage was unreliable and spotty without a booster or external antenna. Sometimes 1 bar and had about 3 to 5 down with .1 to .5 up when using the antenna, had a zoom call that lasted for an hour without issue. Without the antenna, it was hit and miss with several dropped calls. Some spots may vary more with service. Would visit again.

    North Graysport

    Beautiful campground

It’s a very nice campground but there isn’t much to do. It’s off season and the lake is empty. There is only one other person camping.

RV sites all have W/E and sites 31-48 have sewer. I didn’t realize that when I booked my site so picked #3 since it would fit my 40’ fifth wheel and truck. All sites have concrete pads and some are tree covered but not all. My site was pretty much level.

Only 1 public restroom is open and it is clean but smells musty. Unable to check the other restroom and bathhouse because they are closed.

The main roads are easy to navigate and the campground road is also easy to navigate and in really good condition.

I’d definitely stay here again if I’m back this way.

    Christmas camp 2020

Very nice campground. With family gatherings discouraged due to covid we decided to camp. We used site 58. Site has 30 50 15 amp, water and sewer. Concrete pad with extra concrete vehicle parking. Bathroom is directly in front with toilets and showers. Very clean and warm (low Christmas eve and Christmas 23). Concete picnic table, grill and grill table. Fire ring. This site will be waterfront in summer but with the winter let down no water right now. All together a great, well maintained facility. Also the north mississippi fish hatchery is here but closed for the holidays.

    Wallace Creek

    Loved it, very relaxing!

This is another great Corps of Engineers parks where you find really nice campsites set on great waterfront setting. The campground sits on Enid Lake which is recognized as one of “One of America’s Top 10 Fishing Spots.” And since the park is just shy of 100 sites you don’t feel like it is not too big. Plan on staying here for a couple of days and relaxing in the outdoors. Stock up on supplies because there is not much around. Sites are really nice and spacious with paved driveways and patios.

They just added sewer with makes a full hookup at $20/night a total bargain. Each site has a fire pit, picnic table, bbq grill, small concrete stand next to bbq, and lantern crook. The bathhouse was modern with flush toilets with clean showers. Not all sites are level in fact we had to pass up a couple because of that reason. If you come in the off-season, there are plenty of sites not reserved so you can drive around and pick on using the self-pay system. Some sites have amazing water views if you are able to snag one of those you are in for a great stay. The campground is pretty hilly but the roads were easy enough for us to navigate in our 45’ RV and tow car .

The lake is very popular for fishing and there is a boat launch/fish cleaning station. We didn’t have fishing licenses but loved paddling around the lake. The North Mississippi Fish Hatchery(by the Enid Dam) is a fun place to visit and tour for very small fee. If you go into the town of Pope, the restaurant "The Place" offers good food set in a refurbishing an historic building.

    Hurricane Landing

Decent campground, disappointing shower and bathroom

Small, quiet campground on reservoir. Plenty of space and privacy between sites. Concrete pad was level and ample. Any size rig could fit into these sites. Each site has its own garbage cans. Water and electric at each site. Dump station in campground. Verizon signal was good. Bathrooms had prison style toilets and showers were functional but dirty. Showers were in dire need of repair to floor and deep cleaning. Bathrooms were maintained daily but not adequately cleaned. No soap in bathroom, only air dryer for hands, no paper towels, no garbage can in bathrooms. There were unattended dogs on leashes/in crates at a couple of sites that barked aggressively when people passed by. Owners were absent for good part of day. Nearby lake access road passes right by campground is routinely used by locals. Not staffed by COE official.

John W Kyle State Park — John W. Kyle State Park

    Quiet and plenty of space

We’ve stayed here three times and always in the same area away from the lake. Very quiet, friendly neighbors and pretty well maintained. We did have to buy an extra hose to reach water hookup but other than that, it was good. We did not book a site with sewer hookups, but the dump station was easy to find and no one else was there so it worked out well! Especially since it was our first time dumping. Not rushed! The rinse hose at the dump station was busted but thankfully we had an extra in our bin to rinse out our tanks.
