        Lake?

The lake is currently drained because they are working on the dam. Made reservations online. Pretty much all the sites I thought would be easy to get into were reserved, so I chose this one. Website said it was good for 53' unit and 2 vehicles. We have a 36' 5th wheel and it was a little difficult to get in. Someone previously knocked down the site number post. I also had a problem with the post for site 31 being in the way. I finally just backed in by driving on the grass. It only fits the 2 vehicles if each one has 2 tires in the grass. It turns out that all of those reserved sites online were empty. There is hardly anyone here. It would have been nice to have one of those angled for better entry. Other than the empty lake and difficult backing in it is a nice park. Standard COE fare.

Good spot for camping and fishing

Most of the campers you see here are RVs. We camped in tent, wish they had tent pads. Good view of the lake, nice clean bathroom. Spacious depending on which site you choose. We reached there in the night, the camp numbers were hard to read as they were painted on the floor. If you fish they have fish cleaning station in the campsite entrance.

Decent campground, disappointing shower and bathroom

Small, quiet campground on reservoir. Plenty of space and privacy between sites. Concrete pad was level and ample. Any size rig could fit into these sites. Each site has its own garbage cans. Water and electric at each site. Dump station in campground. Verizon signal was good. Bathrooms had prison style toilets and showers were functional but dirty. Showers were in dire need of repair to floor and deep cleaning. Bathrooms were maintained daily but not adequately cleaned. No soap in bathroom, only air dryer for hands, no paper towels, no garbage can in bathrooms. There were unattended dogs on leashes/in crates at a couple of sites that barked aggressively when people passed by. Owners were absent for good part of day. Nearby lake access road passes right by campground is routinely used by locals. Not staffed by COE official.

        Great spot on Enid Lake

Stopover in January. Left one day early because of imminent weather on our route home. Otherwise would have stayed longer. Beautiful trees, lake, and drive. Enid Lake is big with lots of walkable shoreline. Bathhouse extra large and clean. It even smelled good if you can believe that. Large sites with elbow room. Our site 27 had great views with full Hookups. Site 30 would be optimal site with view and pull through.

        Creepy Experience

Nice weekend, great weather, few bugs. The bathrooms were decent for campground bathrooms. Plenty of firewood to forage. Campsite was relatively clean. Neighbors were very close and made it hard to feel like I had any privacy.

I ended up leaving early because of a creepy experience with a man who made me feel uncomfortable…even unsafe. Crappy ending to an otherwise great weekend.

Gorgeous sunrises (and the sunsets aren't bad either)!

We arrived just before sunset in late November (dang Daylight Savings time) so quickly got to our site and set up. Did not see anyone to check in but had reservations as now are required at all CoE campgrounds (a ranger drove through the next morning). The water level looked to be very low, but we still had a nice view at the end of the loop.

Sites are FHU and other amenities include a large concrete picnic table, lantern hook, fire pit, BBQ grill, and food prep table. Sites are paved, generous in size, and spaced a very decent distance apart from each other; even though all the leaves had fallen and there were other campers in our loop, I did not feel a lack of privacy.

The restrooms were clean and although there were paper towels, the soap dispensers were empty (my only beef with this campground)! The showers looked to be reasonable, but it was below freezing the next morning, so I didn’t try them out. There was also what appeared to be a utility sink in the bathroom but no shelves or other place to stage dishes.

I can only assume that water sports are in-season and not sure about other recreational activities. Because the ground was frozen the next morning, I was able to walk down to the water and get some great photos of the sunrise and birds.

This was just an overnight stay for us but for $12 (with the Golden Access Pass), it is a real bargain and the reason we often seek out Army Corps of Engineers campgrounds.

        Nice Peaceful Campground

We really enjoyed our stay here. We had a great view of the lake from our site. Bathroom and Shower house felt clean. There were a lot of gnats on the sink counter but something I would expect from outdoor bathrooms so not a big deal. We did not see any type of park rangers or attendants on our stay. The only problem that may have solved was when we arrived at 5:00pm, our spot was reserved starting at 4:00pm, there was still someone parked in our spot. I kindly let them know we had the space reserved and they said ok and left within 20 min. Not a big deal just inconvenient. If they wouldn’t have left I’m not sure how the situation would have been resolved with no attendants. We drove around the rest of the campground and there were a lot of great spots with views. I did see a small swing set and basketball goal in a field but no real playground for kids. I did not see any walking trails or any activities but you can walk around at the lake. So if you have kids you may want to bring bikes, games, and other things to do. The campground stayed pretty quiet the whole time. At the front of the campground you do get slightly more traffic and noise of other campers coming in and out so if you want more privacy and quietness the back of the campground would be a little better I’m sure. Everyone we encountered waved, drove slow, and seemed friendly tho so we didn’t mind.

We will definitely be back to stay here again and look forward to it!

        Nice campground near Memphis

Decided to find a close, full hookup campground to do a shakedown trip on our new rig. Wanted a water vies, so we decided to try this place out. Spaces are all extremely level, some longer than others. Picnic area and fire pits are all kind of randomly placed. Some are in a good spot on the camp side of the trailer, but a few are on the complete wrong side of the camper. Recently updated to full hookup sites for all sites. They are nice connections as well. They were installing a new lift station to keep up with the demand after heavy spring rains proved to be too much for the last one.

        Bathrooms are older but clean.

Only real complaint is that after heavy rains, there is standing water everywhere. Some sites are almost unusable with a mote all the way around you.

All in all, it’s a great place to get away… especially for full hookups at Corps prices.
