Within Sardis Lake's protected waters, Hurricane Landing operates as a US Army Corps of Engineers campground that serves both RV and tent campers year-round. The facility sits off the main traffic routes, providing a more secluded base for lake activities when water levels allow access.
The campground features spacious sites with water and electric hookups, accommodating RVs up to 39 feet. Sites toward the back of the loop offer more separation between neighbors, while those closer to the entrance sit tighter together. A central open field provides space for recreation, and a playground serves families with children. "Easy access to fishing and water sports when the lake is up," notes Steve G., though lake levels fluctuate seasonally.
The bathhouse functions adequately but shows its age, with shower floors requiring repair work and daily maintenance that doesn't always address deeper cleaning needs. Each site includes individual trash receptacles, and a dump station handles RV waste disposal since sewer hookups aren't available. Campers can find additional sites around Sardis Lake for different experiences around the reservoir.
Reservations help secure preferred sites during busier periods, with rates ranging from $24-100 per night depending on season and site selection.
