Eleven lakefront sites offer trails through woods to the water, ideal for pets who enjoy swimming. Gateway Park Campground features clean, large paved sites with plenty of space and grass for pets to enjoy, while still maintaining shade in select areas. The campground's family-friendly atmosphere extends to four-legged visitors, with guests noting the well-maintained grounds and helpful staff who accommodate pet owners.
Pet owners appreciate the trails and water access available at Lake Hudson, where dogs can explore the shoreline along the numerous inlets and curvy shorelines of the lake. The recreation area's designation as a dark sky preserve means minimal light pollution for evening walks with leashed pets. Visitors should be prepared with extension cords for electrical hookups, as power boxes can be located up to 50-70 feet from campsites. Many campers bring their own water supply, as the only water source is a hand pump at the campground entrance. W.J. Hayes State Park Campground, approximately 30 minutes away, offers additional pet-friendly camping options with modern amenities including sewer hookups, showers, and a sanitary dump station that Lake Hudson campers sometimes utilize when departing.
"This small campground (about 40 sites) is well off the beaten path, but still easy to access by road. This is the perfect campground to get back to nature."
"My site has a path right out to the lake. My 2p tent could easily fit on this lakeside spot but it is sadly much too windy on the lake today."

We really enjoyed our stay. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. Delivered our firewood right to our site. Lots of shade trees, beautiful well groomed trails for walking. Even a dog park, which our Golden Retriever really enjoyed.
I stayed at this place when it was B&B and it is now a KOA. Several new sites were added and the park appears to be much cleaner. The restrooms are nice and the camp personnel are friendly. There is a dog park for walking the dog but with so much driveway I just walk the dog around the park. They have several dog bag stations around the park to make clean up easy. There are 3 playgrounds and boat area on the lake. I believe you can rent boats to fish even though I never have. I will definitely stay here again.
We enjoyed the stay at this campground. They have all of the KOA amenities pool, lazy river, jump pillow, playground and dog park. Entire campground was clean and well maintained. This campground also sits on the shores of Hogback Lake which is an all sports lake. Many things to do in the area Wild Winds Buffalo Preserve, Pokagon State Park(hiking, biking and horseback riding), Amish communities close by, Black Pine Animal Sanctuary, Angola, IN many shopping and dining experiences.
Nice park for full timers. Large spots to accommodate big rigs and kids. Full hook ups. Cell service great with Verizon hotspot (22u, 20d, 38ms and AT&T cell(27d, 20u, 27ms). Playgrounds everywhere for the kids. Giant dog park and ponds. Pool was closed. Just needs more grass. Our spot was really patchy and resulted in a lot of mud.
Great campground with polite and helpful staff. Don’t pass this one up.

We have been here a few times. Really enjoy the secluded sites and the lake. It’s a small campground but it’s clean and quiet. Most sites don’t have water hookups but they do have electric. There isn’t much to do outside of the campground but there is a nice lake with canoe and kayak rentals. Very pet friendly and even has a dog beach.
29 campsites pretty close together with old growth trees interspersed around the campground. Fishing pier and boating, playground area, and beach. No longer has primitive camping. Some hiking trails...short. is next to a busy road, so traffic all night. Staff was great! Showers and bathrooms cleaned multiple times a day. Pet friendly. Would stay here again!
Pet friendly. Great camp store. Clean campground. Nice beach. Beautiful!!

Hookup considerations: Electric service varies between campgrounds. "They just put electric on some sites, but not all... 30&50 amp hook ups," mentions Jen D. about Ted Ranch Campground.
