Best RV Parks & Resorts near Manistee, MI

Several RV parks near Manistee offer full hookup options for various rig sizes. Little River Casino RV Park provides concrete pads with full hookups including 50-amp service, though fires are not permitted at individual sites. Kampvilla Park in Bear Lake accommodates RVs with water, sewer, and both 30 and 50-amp electrical connections on level sites. "The sites are very nice with concrete pads and the lawns are groomed perfectly," noted one visitor about Sun Retreats Silver Lake, which operates seasonally from April through October. Vacation Station RV Resort in Ludington features big-rig friendly pull-through sites with complete hookup options, making it suitable for larger motorhomes and fifth wheels.

Seasonal availability varies significantly across the region, with most parks operating from April through October. Winter closures are standard practice due to Michigan's harsh weather conditions. Cell service can be inconsistent, particularly at parks nestled in the Manistee National Forest area. While Verizon coverage is generally reliable near Ludington, several reviewers mentioned weak or non-existent signals at more remote locations. Dump stations are available at most parks, though some charge additional fees for this service. Pet policies differ between facilities - most welcome pets but may have breed restrictions or designated pet areas. Propane refill services are limited, requiring trips to nearby towns for resupply.

    Indigo Bluffs RV Park

    Love, Love, Love this campground

My goal is always to find campgrounds that are in state park or national forest settings, but with all the conveniences of a private campground. It’s a bonus if there are lots of things to do in the area. Indigo Bluffs delivers on all fronts. We had a lovely, shaded, level, spacious site which most of them seemed to be.

The campground was large - it’s actually two parts - an RV resort for large fifth wheels and Class As and another campground for everyone else. I really liked the regular campground as it had a lot more shade than the RV resort area.

Indigo Bluffs is close to Empire which has a beach and Joe’s Friendly Tavern. Joe’s has excellent hamburgers and plenty of beer variety. It is also close to a trailhead for the Sleeping Bear Dunes Heritage Bike Trail. The Sleeping Bear Dunes trail is wonderful, a bit hilly, but oh so scenic! It is also close to the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park and the infamous Dune Climb. We took a short drive to Sutton’s Bay and rode on the Leelanau Bike Trail to Traverse City. If you do this, be sure to stop at Farm Club on the way back. Excellent brewery and farm-to-table restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating and a farm market.

We will definitely return to Indigo Bluffs!

    Sun Retreats Silver Lake

    Beautiful RV resort

This place is very nice and conveniently located to the dunes and all of the local attractions. We decided to rent a cabin this time since our toy hauler was in the shop. The cabins are very clean and up to date with modern appliances. All of their campsites are on a concrete pad and the lawns are groomed perfectly. The pool and hot tub are a great way to relax after spending a day on the dunes.

    Indigo Bluffs RV Park

    Family oriented

This campground has two sides, the campground which accommodates tents, campers and RVs. Also they have small cabins. They offer full hookups as well as 30 & 50 amp service.  Nice shower and bathroom facilities, coin laundry, pool, and camp store. The other side is the “luxury RV Resort” with concrete pads, grass, ponds and lots of greenery. Very upscale.

D.H. Day Campground — Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore

Great campground, close to so much to do!

We spent most of our time at the pet friendly beach. So many places to hike and so much fun to swim. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We hiked or swam, visited and attempted to climb the dunes lol, saw some shows at the amphitheater and saw a historic cabin on site. A firewood vending machine? Pretty basic camping but very nice.

    Riverside Park Campground

Nice Little Park on a River

When you first enter the campground you pass by the Pere Marquette River which is a big draw because it is known for great salmon and trout fishing. The park is located in Scottville which is a tiny town but you are only 15 minutes from the Lake Michigan beach town of Ludington. The campground is fairly small (50 sites) but well laid out and will fit any camping unit from tents to large RVs. There are primitive sites and those with electric, water, cable, picnic tables & fire pits. There is a nice, new bathroom that was kept clean. The campground has a very open feel to it with trees on the outskirts. The openness and warm sunshine was appreciated when we were there in late October and experiencing cooler weather. Campsites are on grass and most were in pretty good shape and not too muddy even though we were there at the end of the camping season.

For a little park, this place has a lot of amenities including swimming pools, convenience store (with ice cream treats for $1), playground, basketball, volleyball, horseshoe pits, fishing, paddling, disc golf, shuffle board, laundry rooms, and clean restrooms.  The best part for us was the access to the river for kayaking. There are many nearby rental and livery companies for those that do not have their own watercraft. If you are looking for good hiking trails check out Ludington State Park and the Huron-Manistee National Forest – both of which also have camping. Overall, we really liked this little park. There were just a handful of sites occupied during our stay which made it nice and quiet.

Awesome facility. Shaded sites that are good size. We have a 23' travel trailer and has plenty of room. Full hook ups including sewer make it very convenient.

    Rvino - Camp Cadillac, LLC

    Not fancy, but nice

Really nice little campground. Not fancy, but clean and well kept. Pool and petting zoo for the kids. Small store with ice, few necessities and ice cream. Pond in the back on the small river for fishing. Quite a few seasonal campers. Anywhere from rustic to full hook up. Pet friendly. All gravel/dirt/grass sites. Most have trees. Fire pits quite small. Bathrooms very nice and updated.

    Stony Haven Campground & Cabins

    Peaceful

This campground is peaceful. Nice sites, even a place for rustic camping. Rustic camping you hike up the road, no cars are allowed to sites. Perfect!!! Full hook ups, 3 50 amp sites. Others are 30 amp.
Tent camping has platforms, so your tent is off the ground. Cabins are available for rent.
There is a playground, for the young ones. Rental of bikes, tubing, row boats and canoes are right at the campground. Beach access across street.
The campground is the older type, but the quiet, and professional care you get is awesome!!! This place is a must visit campground. Family feeling here. Vet friendly. Bathroom house is cleaned perfectly every day. Always clean. Day excursions, to see are, sand dunes, ludington, etc. then after the fun, come back to a peaceful evening, beside the fire. Each site has a fire ring.
    Peaceful!!!
Just FYI. No drinking of alcohol is allowed. Perfect for my family, but just FYI.
    Camp peacefully!!!

Sand Lake Campground — Manistee National Forest

    Enjoyable Stay

The campground is rustic with sites 1 - 30 being well spaced with vegetation between most sites and quite spacious.   Sites above 30 are on another loop and are much closer together with less privacy between sites.  There are paved pads for each site although some are sloped.  Also, the orientation of the paving for a lot of site is not correct for a travel trailer, i.e. the door to the trailer is not facing the fire pit and picnic table.  See photo.

Site 30 is close to the restroom and showers (although we didn't use them).  Also, the trash gondolas.

There is little internet access with Verizon service.

You could buy wood and ice from the campground host.

Our neighbor in site 29 had put his generator under the trailer and locked it with a steel cable.   It was visible from the road.   At some point during the day someone cut the cable and stole the generator.
