      Eastpointe RV Resort

      Amazing

Definitely the best camp ground in West Michigan! Clean sites, friendly staff, and many amenities. Camp store, laundry, showers and bathrooms, huge pool, hot tub, pickle ball courts, kids play ground, bikes, scooters, and kayaks for rent (with a kayak launch) and boat slips on the water. They have access to a dog park as well. Home away from home!

      Great small campground

Very nice campground, Clean and well maintained and friendly office staff. Nice wooded trail (about 3/4 mile loop around the pond) for walking the pooches. There is a nice sized fenced dog park with potable water right there. Great little playground and bounce house for the kiddos.

School Section Lake Veteran's Park Campground

      Nice campground

Was a decent place to camp- lots are very close though! Luckily in the fall it wasn’t very busy. Nice little lake on property. Fire pits in odd spot near the road. No pets allowed-not even a cat that stays inside in your camper! Also- there is a $7 a day fee for out of the county. Even when you arrive late at night.

Hidden Ridge RV Resort, A Sun RV Resort

      Glamping at its finest

I grew up coming here and they had expanded a lot on it in the last few years. You will never be bored and it is a true resort feeling, you will forget your camping! They have themed weekends filled with activities for both adults and children and have a pool, pizza and ice cream, jumping pillow, clubhouse, fishing, playground, dog park, and so much more!

      Something for everyone!

The staff is very friendly and helpful. There are activities for young and old and everyone in between. The showers are clean and spacious. They have campsites to meet everyone's desires. Pets are welcome here with two fenced dog runs and trails to keep the owners exercised. I love this place and have made it a regular stop.

      Great sites

This campground is great, it's only 25 minutes from Grand Haven beach. The sites are well treed and flat! Lots of the activities within the park, they have a small petting zoo, sky pad, playground. Several cottages in the park as well. Well be back.

      Campers Paradise

      Conveniently located, no-frills campground

Don’t discount this campground, we found it did not live up to the angsty hype of the sour reviewers on google and Campendium. We had a very enjoyable and safe stay at Camper’s Paradise in Grand Haven.

Yes, the staff are very strict on the 5 MPH speed limit. But if you respect this rule, you’ll have a perfectly fine stay. Those who have kids or pets will probably find they like the enforced speed limit so their kids can play about without imminent danger.

And yes, the campground is not a quiet, silent getaway. A quick look at a map can tell you it is close to a highway. However, the road noise is not obnoxious and quickly drowns out as background noise. Anyone in a trailer won’t notice it. It’s mostly primitive campers and light sleepers who may need ear plugs. The advantage to its urban location is its proximity to Grand Haven Beach and Rosy Mound, both bike riding distance.

Bathhouses, though old, have been recently re-tiled and are cleaned daily.

RV spots are dirt, and nicely shaded. A fire ring and picnic table are provided at each spot.

Don’t get scared from the bad reviews. This campground was a welcome rescue when our other reservation fell through. Yes, it’s an urban campground and yes, the staff are vigilant about their rules. But none of this prevents having a good time enjoying the outdoors in Grand Haven.

      Snow Lake Kampground

      Very organized but busy campground

They were very organized at this campground. Every weekend they have a theme. We stayed when they had the country western weekend. They had all kinds of stuff going on for kids. Pony rides, wagon rides, petting zoo, games and activities. They also had a country music concert in the park one evening. The pool was very nice, but we found at times it was extremely busy. It would of been nice if they had a swimming area on the lake but they didn’t. This is a Christian campground so they are very strict on alcohol consumption. On your site only, but not allowed anywhere else in the park. Overall we had an enjoyable stay.

    Guide to Greenville

Camping opportunities near Greenville, Michigan center around lakes and woodland settings. The area sits at approximately 850 feet above sea level within Michigan's Lower Peninsula, with a typical Midwestern climate featuring warm summers and cold winters. Summer camping temperatures average 75-85°F during daytime hours, with cooler evenings in the 50-60°F range.

    What to do

Hiking trails: Several parks near Greenville offer marked paths through woodland areas. At Bertha Brock County Park, "There was three hiking trails to choose from, we choose the 'turkey trail'. The trail was well marked but got quite confusing about 3/4 in. Tons of fun things to see here, beautiful stone bridges. Trail was well maintained."

Fishing spots: The shallow waters at Wabasis Lake County Park provide decent fishing opportunities despite limitations. "Sites on the shoreline are great for fishing (although shallow and weedy) or boating in." For a no-wake fishing experience, try Ionia Recreation Area where the peaceful lake supports various fish species.

Disc golf course: Outdoor recreation includes well-maintained disc golf at some local parks. At Newaygo State Park, "There's good hiking, an awesome disc golf course, and the lake right there with boat launches for fishing. If you're not into fishing or disc golf, you might be happier elsewhere."

    What campers like

Spacious sites: Many campgrounds provide ample room between sites. At Newaygo State Park Campground, "Very wooded and spread out among the campsites! Close to the water, and there's a trail along the perimeter of the campground with amazing views. Great stargazing as well." This rustic camping experience appeals to those seeking more natural settings.

Clean facilities: Campground cleanliness rates highly in camper reviews. Cedar Springs RV Resort maintains "the cleanest bathrooms I've ever seen at a campground and nice walking path." Similarly, campground hosts at multiple locations work diligently to maintain bathroom facilities.

    What you should know

Highway noise: Some campgrounds experience traffic sounds despite natural settings. Cedar Springs RV Resort has "a little off putting that they had golf cart patrols so often, but I appreciated the quiet. Well people quiet. The highways a littler closer then it looks, so you do get a lot of road noise."

Wildlife interactions: Local wildlife may visit campsites, particularly during evenings. Wabasis Lake has "Lots and lots of raccoons, that aren't afraid at all!" Proper food storage prevents unwanted encounters.

Water conditions: Lakes in the Greenville area have varying water quality concerns. At Ionia State Recreation Area, "The beach is fantastic especially for little kids who might not be the best swimmers ready for Lake Michigan or lakes with lots of boats and waves to deal with. Nice and sandy and a nice store and ice cream shop at the beach."

Swimming options: Lake swimming remains popular during summer months. Ionia State Recreation Area offers a "beautiful no wake lake! Great for fishing, swimming, kyaking or small boating. Scenic views on trails around the lake. Not too far so the kids can fallow along."

    Tips from RVers

Site leveling: Some campgrounds require extra work for level RV placement. Bertha Brock County Park notes that "They say the can only fit 30 foot rvs but I was able to get my 33 foot in 2 sites. about 5 sites I seen can accommodate larger rvs."

Full hookup availability: For RVers seeking full amenities, options exist but require advance reservations. Double RR Ranch RV Resort provides complete hookups with recreational options: "There is a river to explore and we always get a riverfront site. Rivers are just fun for fishing, throwing stones, canoeing."

Campground layout: Site arrangement impacts the camping experience for larger rigs. At Newaygo State Park, "The sites are deep but many are close together. Ours had a little extra room but was next to the vault toilet." Most dog-friendly campgrounds in the Greenville area have limited premium sites that book quickly during peak season.
