    Balsam Cove Campground

    Great place!

We stayed here one night in September in a Tuesday. Quiet, very few people. Had a non electric site without water and paid the same price as the state park in Camden. This place had much nicer showers and bathrooms. Would return!

    Jo-Mary Campground

Yea, beautiful location, but overpriced & lacking

They charged us almost $400 for two tent sites, for two nights.  They are clearly resting on their laurels, need to hire more help for peak periods, be in the office when they need to be available and answer their phones and return phone calls, and also need to check for garbage left by previous campers and have their port-a-potties emptied way more often (gross!)

If you can get past the price gouging and lack of attention to detail, the place IS beautiful and enjoyable.

    Cold River Campground

    Just ok

Pretty small site but nice layout. Wifi was terrible. Had to listen to an argument from a neighbor. Someone was parked in the spot and had to move so i could back in

    Wild Acadia Camping Resort

    Perfect for glampers and traditionalists

This campground has something for everyone. Tent sites hidden in the woods, RV sites for all sizes and cabins for the glampers. Amenities are wonderful. Very clean facilities with showers, laundry and game room in the middle of the grounds. They have a waterpark for campers and day guests and a private pool just for campers.

    Timberland Acres RV Park

Okay for a long term stay, socially busy

It's well provisioned with clean free hot showers, it tends to have some availability of some kind even quite last minute in the season which is nice. There's a lot of full season campers. A downside is this is a significantly noisy and busy campsite, every single day there are golf carts coming and going, mowing, weed whacking, children up until late. It felt dangerous driving my trailer in because small children kept whizzing by on bikes and scooters, not stopping even as I was backing my trailer in, kids were throwing trash on the ground. If you're not a busy family person, it doesn't feel very relaxed and my headphones got a lot of use.

Prices are significantly more expensive than marked on here, most people come with large vehicles and do sewage outlets so the shower bathroom can be far if you need it. You pay a premium to be in the region during the season but it will run at least 1700 a month, which is more than enough for a full apartment- and I'm getting a small grass spot with electricity and water, nothing else. For convenience to the island and more affordable groceries in Ellsworth it is well situated.

    Oceanfront Camping @ Reach Knolls

    Great Chill Place!

Campground was quiet with spaced out sites and had a really nice outdoor shower! Lori and staff were friendly and it was easy to call and book a spot. Really great views of the ocean and Deer Isle. Stayed at site 8 which had unobstructed views of ocean and close to path to beach. Def worth the visit

    Forest Ridge Campground

    Quiet

I stayed here for a few months. I really enjoyed my stay. The campground was quiet, and the area was pretty. The staff were also very nice. I intend to stay here again next time I'm over that way.

    Timberland Acres RV Park

    Nice Park, Close to Acadia

We had a nice pull through site with full hook ups. Most are pretty close to each other, ours was wider but faced another camper who faced us. It really didn’t matter as we spent our time at Acadia and Bar Harbor. There is a lot shopping really close by. There is a tavern on site, which had great food and drinks.

    Alderbrook Camp Site

    Beautiful views

This is private land that the owner rents to campers.  It is a lovely single camp site with great views and fields. It is relatively close to the road but there is very little traffic and no noise. The space is level.  There is a picnic table, fire ring, full hook ups, and box with an information sheet that includes things to do and places to eat for the surrounding area. The view was expansive and beautiful, with wonderful sunsets. The walking trails that have been cut are lovely, and a great place for a short walk, or to walk with your dog.  The owner met us immediately upon our arrival and was very friendly. The only challenge is we stayed in July, and the horse flys were viscous. They were not by the campsite, but were abundant on the trails, and I literally had to run to get back to the camper to minimize the bites. If you are susceptible to horse fly bites, be aware during the horse fly season. My husband did not get bit.

This area is very rural.  Skowhegan, which is just over 20 minutes away, is the closest town, and has a few restaurants and a nice farmers market.  There are many hiking  and atv trails in the general area.  I would recommend this spot for a weekend in the area, or passing through for the night.
