    SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

RV parks near Russellville include Russellville RV Park with 28 sites and 50/30 amp electric hookups, and Hopewell RV Park providing 20 sites with full hookups and big rig access. Western Kentucky RV Park in Central City offers 48 sites with both 50 and 30 amp service, sewer connections and level gravel pads. "This is a typical KOA park but in an awesome area. The only downside is the traffic noise from the highway. The sites were level and clear of obstacles," noted one camper about Bowling Green KOA located about 30 miles east. Most parks in the area feature pull-through sites with adequate spacing for slideouts, though back-in sites are common at state parks where maneuvering can be more challenging.

Seasonal considerations affect availability throughout the region, with many private RV parks operating year-round while state parks may reduce services during winter months. The dump station at Barren River Tailwater is positioned directly behind the bathhouse, causing odor issues during busy checkout periods according to visitor reports. Cell service varies significantly across the area - parks closer to interstates typically offer reliable connectivity, while those in more rural settings may provide limited reception. Pet policies are generally accommodating, with designated dog parks available at several locations including Bowling Green KOA, which features agility equipment. Propane fill service is limited, requiring advance planning for longer stays, especially during colder months when heating demands increase.

      Cedar Creek (TN)

Not the Best COE We've Stayed At

We stayed one night at Cedar Creek Campground while traveling north and appreciated its location, which allowed us to bypass Nashville traffic by using I-840 and TN-45. We followed the route using RV Trip Wizard and Waze, although Waze wanted to route us through I-40. Coming in from the south, we did not see any brown campground signs until we reached the marina entrance. The final approach travels through a narrow, hilly rural-suburban area before arriving at the campground. Check-in was quick, and we headed to back-in Site 22 with 50/30/20-amp electric and water. Immediately after leaving the check-in station, there is a fairly tight right-hand turn. The attendant specifically warned us to take it wide, explaining they occasionally see larger rigs scrape there. The site length was accurately represented on Recreation.gov and accommodated our 40-foot fifth wheel, although we needed to unhitch to park our F-450 alongside the trailer. Utilities were conveniently located near the middle of the site, water pressure was excellent, and the site included a newer picnic table, fire ring with cooking grate, and lantern post. We received three bars on Verizon and two bars on T-Mobile. Our T-Mobile Home Internet averaged 193 Mbps download and 1.3 Mbps upload. With the heavy tree canopy, Starlink availability will vary considerably by site, and we doubt Site 22 would have provided a usable view of the sky. The campground has two bathhouses, with the newer facility offering individual shower rooms. The older bathhouse had two coin-operated machines, although the dryer was out of service during our stay. The lakeside sites are more generously spaced, while the interior loops connect to one another, making the back sides of the loops feel very close together, with some sites almost sitting on top of each other. Sites 54 and 56B appeared to be among the better choices for larger rigs. Although we didn't use the dump station, it looked manageable for a 40-foot rig despite reviews suggesting otherwise. The biggest consideration is maneuverability. The roads are narrow, several turns are sharp, and there are trees and drainage ditches throughout the campground. We exited without incident, but even on a Thursday with light occupancy, it required careful driving. Had the campground been full with vehicles parked along the roads, navigating a large RV would have been considerably more challenging. Overall, we enjoyed the peaceful Corps of Engineers setting and the opportunity to avoid Nashville traffic, but for our 40-foot fifth wheel, we're not convinced the extra maneuvering required is worth the tradeoff for future overnight stays.

Grand Ole RV Resort & Market

Peaceful, Well-Run RV Park with Great Location

We really enjoyed our stay at The Grand O RV Resort! The staff was super friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. A man even led us to our site in a golf cart and helped my fiancé back in and park our trailer, which was a huge help.

The campground had a small store with supplies, a restaurant with a menu available (though we cooked our own food), and live music each night while we were there during the summer — a nice touch! There’s a train that passes by on the nearby track a couple of times a day, but it was never super early or late and didn’t bother us at all.

We stayed in the center of the park, which didn’t have much shade, but the outer edge sites seemed more wooded. The roads and campsites are made of small pebbles, which made it easy to drive and back in. It was overall very quiet, and the location is great — just off the interstate, about 10 miles north of Nashville, and roughly 45 minutes from Bowling Green. We visited the National Corvette Museum and Lost River Cave while we were there.

Our site had full hookups (water, sewer, and electric). The bathhouse was clean, air-conditioned, and accessed with a key code — two toilet stalls and three showers for women, all very well maintained. We didn’t use the laundry facility (if there was one), but the Wi-Fi was decent, and T-Mobile cell service worked well, even for using our hotspot. It’s a pet-friendly park (though we didn’t bring pets), and while there’s no pool or playground, there were some nice wooden swings to enjoy.

They also have firewood for sale and a propane filling station on site. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely recommend The Grand O to anyone looking for a quiet, clean, and well-located RV park near Nashville!

      Nashville KOA Resort

Nashville KOA is a great place to stay when visiting the Music City.

The campground has a variety of sites from deluxe paved pull through with patios to back-in full hookups to tent sites. We stayed in the back-in sites side of the campground. The sites were close together(but not on-top of each other) and many were long enough to handle most average sized rigs. These sites were gravel with grass between, which was well maintained. 50& 30 amp service available. Very flat with minimal leveling needed. The wifi was spotty when the campground was full on the weekends.

The bathhouses have individual shower access with separate toilet facilities. These were clean and well maintained. The entire campground was very well maintained and landscaped beautifully, which created a welcoming feeling.

There are numerous amenities: pool, hot tub, playground, pickle ball, corn hole, etc. Live music is offered at the pool area a couple nights a week in addition to movies. The camp store is small, with limited selection, but it is attached to a nice size indoor rec room and restaurant/snack bar. A Camping World Store is also right next door to the campground, which is very convenient.

A shuttle service is offered daily from 10:00AM-1:30AM between the KOA and downtown Nashville at the Country Music Hall of Fame. The cost is$10 round trip per person. The staff were very friendly and willing to help with any issues and questions. We enjoyed our stay and found the price($68) reasonable for the great location and amenities offered.

      Bowling Green KOA

      Standard KOA/Awesome stay!

This is a typical KOA park but in an awesome area. The only downside is the traffic noise from the highway. It was not audible inside the RV so it wasn’t enough to disturb sleep.

The park has nice long pull through spaces, and quite a few long term residents of the park. They have a very nice dog park with obstacles for them in a central location to be accessed by everyone.

The sites were level and clear of obstacles. They left plenty of space for vehicles and rigs. We had a pull through patio and the space had a giant beautiful tree that was very helpful in the heat.

Equipment is well maintained at this location! Cell service for AT&T and TMobile we’re both excellent.

      Two Rivers Campground

Nice RV park for visiting Nashville

Helpful staff, gravel level sites with concrete pads that have picnic tables on them. Full hook ups. There is a private bus the staff will call that will come pick you up and take you to downtown and return for $10.00. I took the bus because parking is more expensive than the bus fee. I didn’t use the laundry or showers but they looked nice and clean. Great place to stay while visiting Nashville. They had live bands every night out by the pool area while we were here. Nice place for a private park. I would stay again. Camping world is right next door if you need anything. Back in and pull through sites.

      Two Rivers Campground

      Great CG in Nashville

We spent two nights here (May 24-26, 2022). This is a nice, easy access CG with level pull through and back-in gravel sites in Nashville. It is located within a loop of the Cumberland River, between two RV dealer/repair facilities and surrounded by two RV CGs- it’s a busy area. There are a number of activities available: live music, swimming pool, recreation hall, playground and dog park. We did not make use of the laundry, bathrooms or showers. It is a great base camp to visit the Nashville (Grand Ole Opry) area. The WiFi was great as was cell phone reception. The cable TV worked well. We would stay here again.

      Nashville North

      City Outskirts campground

Nice little spot, freeway right behind the park and can hear cars all day/night. Internet was down when we got here and cell signal is hit and miss on all 3 Carriers (Verizon, AT&T and T-mobile). Delivery of anything is challenging for the drivers for some reason. Overall the facility it self is up-kept and clean. Good place for short term but look for better long term options.

    What to do

Fishing at Nolin Lake: At Moutardier Campground, visitors find excellent fishing opportunities. "Moutardier Campground is a fisherman's paradise. It is located on Nolin River Lake. Hiking nearby trails: Moutardier offers the Shady Creek Trail for campers seeking land-based activities. "There is also a two mile hike that is in the campground called Shady Creek Trail. It looked like it had not been hiked in a while but it went through woods, small stream and had a cool rock formation," writes Pawsfuradventure T.

Halloween festivities: For seasonal activities, Moutardier Campground hosts special events. "Family friendly Halloween fun. Has a decorating contest with trick or treat in the campground," explains Laura O., making October an ideal time for families visiting the area.

    What campers like

Live entertainment: Grand Ole RV Resort & Market provides evening activities. "Live music every night was nice. Backing my trailer is not my strong suite but the guided me through it like it was nothing," shares Ed S. The resort hosts musical performances typical of the Nashville region.

Just 5 miles south of Western Kentucky Parkway on US highway 431... Full hookups at each site and new picnic tables," reports a visitor.
