    Glo Wood Campground

    Peaceful and serene

The owners are very nice and keep up the grounds well. Our spot, like all around us was very long and nice, wide space between campers. We camped with a 38 foot travel trailer and a 20 foot Ford F250, and still had room(about the size of a golf cart). Very peaceful and serene camping out on their farm land. Most our neighbors were contract workers, so staying monthly. You can see some long term RVs in the wooded area nearby. They also provide storage so you do see RVs parked around the perimeter. We didn't use the bathhouse at all, so cannot comment on it. We had 50 amp with water and sewer at every site. Gravel drive and sites, with grass in between. Each space has their own garbage can and picnic table. Everyone we met was very nice. If you want privacy and space for a good rate, this is the place. It's close to many amenities, so location was good for us too. If it bothers you to see long term campers with their plants and gardens, etc. then look else where. Long term campers don't bother us. So we would definitely stay again.

    Mississinewa Lake Campground

    Good campgrounds for boating!

If you want woodsy, private sites, don’t come here. Most are grassy and sunny. There are many areas where the sites back up close to each other. 2 rows of full hookup. Plenty of 50 amp and many good tent sites. Beach in the park but not walking distance. Great mooring area for campers. Don’t try to pull-thru in any sites that are back-in. DNR will come around repeatedly and ask you to turn around...after you are already set up. Disc golf, trails, store near the beach, cabin rentals.

    Glo Wood Campground

    Good Location

We stayed here for 3 nights with a 33 ft. 5th wheel.  We had 50 amp/water and sewer. We attended 2 concerts at Ruoff Music Center.  Campground was clean and quiet, although needed to be mowed.  Sites are gravel and fairly level with a firepit and picnic table.  Not much shade at the sites and there are several long term campers.  Owner was very nice and helpful.

This is a great option for concert goers.  It was literally 10 minutes from the venue/Noblesville.

    Muncie RV Resort

Solid choice -- Near Mounds state park, city of Anderson, and I-69

I stayed with full hookups, but no cable (don't need it, so don't know if it's available) and we weren't close enough to connect to the WIFI (only close enough to occasionally see 1 bar pop up).

Friendly folks, catch and release fishing pond, and a pond with beach for swimming. Good size playground, jump pad, and off-leash"dog park" available as well.

On AT&T, I typically had 2 bars and no problem streaming music or browsing Facebook. My fellow travelers, on Sprint, said they had poor reception. I'm guessing 1 bar.

Worth noting that my wife said the water pressure in the shower house was fairly low. (I shower in the camper, so can't comment.) Water pressure was fine at our site, though. Also worth noting that many of the back-in sites can be pull-through if you get there when it's not busy.

    Jellystone Campground-pierceton

    Expensive

We stayed here because of the discount offered through Passport America, and somehow the price was still too high. We paid $42 for a FHU pull through site (that was after the discount). However, it was a nice park and it was nice to get caught up on laundry and showers.

You can pay for laundry with the CSCPay app ($5 credit when you first sign up, so your first load is free), or you can pay with credit card. No coins taken. Laundry was nice and clean and the dryers worked excellent.

There are FHU pull through sites, or back in sites with electric only (there is a dump station available). There are also cute cabins available as well.

There are lots of things to do here at the park, but the park itself is out in the middle of nowhere. It was a really eerie feeling when we were there, because almost every spot was taken, but nobody was there. I guess people pay for the season and leave their trailers on site and come in for the weekend.

There’s a nice tent area in the back, rolling grassy area where we let our dog run around off leash since nobody was around. The lake in the middle of the park was really nice, and you can rent pedal gokarts or golf carts, or boats for paddling around the lake.

The camp store is nice, lots of food and supplies and gifts available for sale. There are trash dumpsters here but no recycling.

    White River Campground

    Quick getaway

Nice camp ground along the white river with several sites along the waterway. Clean, well maintained, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Paved road with level concrete sites, could be a little more spacious, but all n all laid out nicely with aluminum picnic tables, and fire ring, 50 and 30 amp hook ups along with H20, and several full hook ups. Tent camping also available. Well stocked camp store. The facilities up front by the office are very clean and have showers with hot water. They could use a bench in the shower stall for your clothing and a space To get dressed discreetly. The facility at the end of the campground dosent have showers and are adequate but not quite as nice. Campground is in a good location close to many amenities

    White River Campground

    Best campground ever!

I've traveled across the US and this is the best campground I've stayed in. First of all it's very clean which is surprising for Indiana. Back up to the river. Great views. Free hot showers! Quiet. Feels secluded though close to town. Good price too. Free wifi that worked so well we could both work online and stream TV! It does not get any better. Dog friendly. Nice playground for the kids. Fire circles and clean picnic tables at each site. If I lived here, I'd come here often. Great place. Walking and biking trails. Canoeing and kayaking. Historic bridge.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Indianapolis East

    Clean, fun and family friendly

Wide pull through spots with fire pits, picnic tables and plenty of grass. Tons to do with the kids, organized activities are well done. Staff stays on top of everything and is super helpful. You can rent pedal bikes, pedal boats, store is well stocked.

    Summit Lake State Park Campground

Nice state park with several trails around a beautiful lake

We stayed before the peak season opened up.  Potable water was available at the entrance but was not on yet in the campground itself.   The sites are well spaced out with a few pull through sites and many back ins.

Our site was a pull through and, while level left to right, required a good bit of leveling front to back.

Trails around the lake were nice with many opportunities for scenic photographs, etc.

There are not a lot of things to see or do in the area but we did visit the Wilbur Wright Birthplace as well as local community restaurants and grocery stores within about a 20 minute drive.

Guide to Marion

Campgrounds near Marion, Indiana offer a variety of options for overnight stays along the Wabash River corridor and surrounding reservoir areas. This region features relatively flat terrain with elevations between 800-900 feet, characterized by a humid continental climate with warm summers and cold winters. Winter camping is limited as several facilities close seasonally, while summer attracts crowds particularly during concert events.

What to do

Riverside recreation: At White River Campground, visitors can launch boats directly from the campground. "There's a ramp into the river right there, trails, clean. I love this place and feel completely safe," reports camper Glenda S. The campground connects to hiking trails via a walking bridge over the river.

Lake activities: Prairie Creek Park provides lake access for fishing enthusiasts. "Great fishing, clean lake," notes Daniel, while another visitor adds, "We stayed in the south shore campground (primitive sites and a handful of sheds/cabins), only here for the night. For $12.84 you really can't complain!"

Outdoor adventure: Kil-So-Quah at J. Edward Roush Lake offers birdwatching opportunities. "Good bird watching spot. Lots of eagles. Nice place, there is gunfire noise from the range across the lake. Not bad though," shares Erica A. The recreation area has both electric and primitive sites with pit toilets.

What campers like

Budget-friendly options: Prairie Creek Park offers affordable camping close to Marion. "Cheap. Great fishing, clean lake," mentions Daniel, while another visitor appreciated the park staff who "found the very last spot after hearing our housing dilemma and checked on me everyday."

Community atmosphere: Tall Sycamore Campground fosters social connections among campers. "I love staying by the Wabash River at Tall Sycamore. It's a true community where everyone helps one another and the carry in dinners are fun and delicious!" shares Jennifer H.

Clean facilities: White River Campground maintains well-kept restrooms. "Their bathrooms and showers are the cleanest I've came across," states Caitlin W. Another camper noted, "White River Campground is not a huge place, but it is always clean and very friendly staff."

What you should know

Seasonal operations: Many campgrounds in the region close during winter months. Tall Sycamore operates from "April 15th to October 15th" while Prairie Creek Park had one visitor note, "Campground is closing 10/31/22 for the winter."

Reservation requirements: White River Campground fills quickly, requiring advance planning. "Fills up fast, so make your reservation. It's small but one of my favorites," advises Caitlin W.

Wildlife viewing: Kil-So-Quah provides nature observation opportunities. "Regular campground with pit toilets. Electric and primitive sites available. Good bird watching spot. Lots of eagles," states Erica A., though she notes there is "gunfire noise from the range across the lake."

Playground access: White River Campground offers updated play areas. "Playground is newly remodeled," mentions Jeremiah G., while another visitor appreciated that "All sites are paved, grounds are great to walk, campground people are nice."

Entertainment options: Nearby attractions supplement camping activities. "Also close by is koteewi, which has horseback riding, ziplines, an archery range, along with other activities," says Caitlin W. about White River Campground.

Site selection: Mystic Waters Campground accommodates various camping styles but has limitations. "This is a great campground for RVs and cabins, but unfortunately not for tents as the highway 69 is too noisy. Also there are not a lot of trees," cautions David C.
