Great place for the whole family to camp at !

Hit a little rough patch in life and needed a break from sleeping in the car and hotels . All the staff at the park were very friendly and understanding of our situation. At $20 a nite for tent site ,showers ,clean toilets ,whole park is very clean ! Lots of things to do here and the waterfall was our fav part ! Deff will be back when in the area . Our site was right down the Rd from the waterfall so had a great view !

    Great spot for camping

We are here for just one night as we are headed back to Georgia. I used the Dyrt search and in this area I looked at this place and boy am I glad I did. I wish it were closer to home. We are next to the river and we are loving it. Beautiful sites and family friendly. Staff are great too.

    Staff were helpful

This would most likely be a last resort for us.  Went to our campsite only to find someone else using it.  Not what you need after driving 400-500 miles.  Had to go back to the office and ultimately took a different site after dirty looks from the poachers.

Then the staff told us there was music that night after we told them we just wanted a peaceful nights sleep so we moved to another site further away from the jam session. Whew a lot of work to be here.  Cannot recall being impresses with the bathrooms/showers.

I have camped here on and off when I was a kid!

Since my experience here growing up and having family get-a-ways, it’s always been my dream to live here!!

    Primitive sites

Small campground. 13$. No reservations, but sites seem readily available, even on weekends in the summer. Spacious sites. Fairly wooded. Firewood only available Mon - Friday 8-3.

Love staying at Tall Sycamore- a great family camp

I love staying by the Wabash River at Tall Sycamore. It’s a true community where everyone helps one another and the carry in dinners are fun and delicious!

    Simple but good

Definitely a little dated. Picnic tables cracked plastic. My site was missing fire ring but many had them. Most sites really wet but gravel pads were close to level, needed to raise one side 1”.

    Geared for permanent camper

The power and water pressure was just fine. The campsite was muddy and needed maintenance. Let's just say it was" Rustic". Office staff were very polite.

Nice state campground with full hookups!

We stay mid-week as we are retired. Full hookup site were $30 a night. Sites seem large and well maintained. All the staff that we interacted with were very friendly. We kayaked the reservoir, used the beach and fished. Finally, we hauled our bikes to the reservoir overlook and then rode them over the dam. A very relaxing trip. T- mobile cell service was 1 bar, however we had our T-mobile internet tower and got 3 bars. Slow speeds but we could still stream tv.

    Great for Fort Wayne Visit

Let me start out by qualifying my 5-star review by saying it is site specific. Our site was one of the more private which earned the 5-stars. But, even in a different site it’s a great place to stay for a few nights as you explore the area. Easy in and out, good electric service, water at the site, good Verizon signal, easy dump station access, and friendly camp hosts. Johnny Appleseed (John Chapman) burial site is next to this county park. And he is celebrated each Fall within the park with a festival.

    Well maintained campground

Setup was quick and easy on the large, level concrete pad. We had full hookup site. There were no mosquitoes even being close to river. Plenty to do in area. Our T-mobile internet had a good connection.

Took my hubby there for his birthday. Primitive tent camping is more then affordable, and the fishing was AWESOME!! He had an amazing time. We've been back 5 times since then. It's a hidden gem for sure!

    Gets better every time

We keep coming back for more. Disc golf. Hiking. Biking. Tent camping. Fishing. Lounging. Driving range. Always something to do. The best thing to do here in my opinion is relax in the shade with and good book while the kids play at the park.

    Nice campground

Campground was nice. Site was clean and level. People were friendly l. Downside was the bathrooms. The women's bathrooms had overflowing toilets the whole time we were there. They couldn't seem to figure out how to fix the problem. Unfortunately, the plumbing in my camper wasn't working either, so it wasn't great. The men's bathroom plumbing was also had issues with the sink faucets. The shower temp was impossible to regulate. Also, dogs aren't allowed on the beach. I understand that not everyone wants to be swimming with my dogs though.

    The best of what’s around!

We stayed at Mystic Waters Campground for the Dave Matthews weekend and had the best time! It’s clean and the staff was so friendly. Our floats on the lake while listening to DMB on the speakers was just a perfect way to spend the day. Our shuttle to and from the show was great as well as the breakfast burrito I had one morning. This was everything and more!

The pet friendliest place so far

They have a tremendous pet park with a well maintained yard. The only problem so far has been the water distribution. But the price is very affordable. My site was 30 dollars a night. Bath house and bathrooms are very nicely kept clean. And there is a river right beside it.

    Has everything

Stayed here as a stopover going south. FHU with a level concrete pad and sites decently spaced apart. Near a lake and hiking trails. That said, apart from it's proximity to Indianapolis, it's seems pretty quiet here.

    In town small peaceful setting

We stayed here for one night on our way to a further destination. It was nice and quiet even though it’s in the middle of town. We would’ve enjoyed it more if the hosts hadn’t moved us to a front location by then. The back area sites 2-8 were so peaceful looking and walking back to that area and through it was like walking into a completely different place. The key lock entry bathroom/shower house was the nicest cleanest we’ve used. We would stay here again if we could be guaranteed sites 2-8.

My family and I have camped here twice, and we love it. Sometimes we just come for the day to go swimming, hiking, fishing. It's beautiful.
