Blackwell Island RV Park on the Spokane River operates from April through mid-October with gravel sites and riverfront premium locations. Liberty Lake RV Campground

Looks like a parking lot with RVs

This is a newer RV park in Liberty Lake. They have only been open 2 years. Liberty Lake is between Spokane, WA and Coeur d’Alene ID. There are about 130 spaces or so, with concrete pads and paved streets. There is grass between sites, but they are much too close to be comfortable, and there is no shade! And, the rules!!! Lots more rules than most other camping areas.’ It also appears many of the residents are semi-permanent. They have free cable snd wifi, a dog park, playground, swimming pool, laundry, and dump station. The sites are 30/50 amp, most are pull through but the outer ring is back in. They also have propane. They are on the pricy side: an outside loop 50 ft. Site is $74/night. Good Sam gets you a 10% discount. It is easy access to I-90 both East and west.

    Blackwell Island RV Park

    Waterfront RV campground

    9/14 to 9/17/19

    Blackwell Island RV Resort

    Coeur d'alene Idaho

Close to interstate, located next to Spokane River and lake. Boat and kayak rentals. Sites are gravel, level, both pull throughs and back ins available, FHU, no privacy between sites. Some nice water front sites. Chairs in place to enjoy the small beach. Nice volleyball and play area. Small BMX course was fun. Cute landscaping near water, small trees within the campground. Picnic tables, no wood fires allowed. No tents of any kind. Very limited store at the office. Town very close with stores and restaurants. Nice restaurant a short distance at the Marina called Cedars. Great private bathroom/with shower. Nice laundry facilities. Free cable and spotty wifi. Moose too!

    Kootenai County Fairgrounds RV Park

It's one of the nicest fairground rv parks.

It's one of the nicest fairground rv park I have been to. This place was very well kept and very friendly campground host. This place is big rig friendly. I stayed in a 45 class A motorhome with a tow vehicle. I had no problem with the access to the rv park. If you are coming off of interstate 90, don't use exit 13. The round about is way to small to handle big rig or any camper. The best route is exit 12 big rig friendly. The price is very reasonable for this area. No shade.

    Liberty Lake Regional Park

    Quiet park close to Spokane

We spent 3 weeks at Liberty Lake Regional Park while visiting our son and grandkids in Spokane. The road in is a little narrow, but once in, it’s a great little campground. Most of the sites are fairly level. We stayed at 2 different sites over 3 weeks, and both were level. They are close together! They provide a fire pit if you want one. Picnic table, water and electric. The dump station is quite a drive, back out, up the hill. There is a clean shower/bathroom building and a beach within walking distance of the campground. While we were there the campground hosts did a fantastic job of keeping everything clean and tidy. Several hiking trails, including an equestrian trail, waterfall, fishing and lots of wildlife. There were deer in the campground every day, we saw moose, owls, pilated woodpecker, and hawks. We were there over July 4th weekend and they had a fireworks display on the beach.

    Thousand Trails Little Diamond

    Little Diamond Newport Washington

We spent a week here and loved it. It is so quiet and peaceful. The sites share electric and water, no sewer and are positioned oddly they are on the off side and in front by the road. Some 30and 50 amp just check the box. The sites are gravel, some what level and size/length varies, a few pull throughs, our 37ft 5ver had no problem. Bathroom showers are ok. Laundry is good. There is a small lake free fishing, didn’t fish. We stayed in the Thousand Trails side, it is a split park with KOA on the other side. Two dump stations, nice lodge/ spa and pool open. AT&T and Sprint were very good. At our site 144

    Albert's Landing

Clean, Friendly, Well Maintained RV Campground on the CDA River

Albert's Landing is a clean, well managed RV campground on the shores of the North Fork of the CDA River near Cataldo, Idaho.

The campground offers 60+ sites with water & 30\50 amp service, level gravel pads, picnic tables, and fire rings. There is nearly 1000' of river frontage, a camp store, and a river float shuttle. However, the campground does not currently have a septic dump, trash facilities, or showers, Those services will be available soon though.

The North Fork of the CDA River is a popular destination for river floating, fishing, and off road recreational activities.

Down the road from the campground is the historic Snake Pit restaurant. Highly recommend stopping in for their great food, atmosphere, and colorful history.

If you're planning to visit the North Fork of the CDA River, I highly recommend Albert's Landing.

    Sedlmayer's Resort & Campground

A great quiet campground on the lake front.

My wife accidentally came across this private campground, which turned into a great stay. Located in northern Idaho and right on Spirit Lake, this campground has 31 RV sites that can accommodate various sizes of RVs. Every site has 20, 30& 50 amp electrical service however, only sites 1 through 21 have sewer. If you need a pull-through site, then go with #14 through#19, or#21.

The campground has a lakeside restaurant, boat slips for campers, and a small general store. The area was well maintained and clean. There are numerous mature cedar trees providing shade and privacy throughout the campground. My only complaint is that only 5 fire pits are located throughout the campground. This campground seems to be a local known quiet gem worth checking out for family fun.

Guide to Hayden

RV campgrounds near Hayden, Idaho offer camping facilities with varying degrees of access to outdoor recreation. The area sits at approximately 2,200 feet elevation in the northern Idaho panhandle. Summer temperatures typically range from 70-90°F while winter months often drop below freezing with snowfall common from November through March.

What to do

Biking adventures: The Wallace RV Park provides convenient access to regional bike trails. "The Trail of the Coeur d'Alene's" is within walking distance according to Justin, making this a popular base for cyclists exploring the area's extensive trail system.

Water recreation: Blackwell Island RV Park offers direct water access for various activities. "Swimming, Kayaking, SUP, Motorized boating all available just steps away," notes Nancy C., while another visitor mentions "We took our paddle boards out and it was great!"

Mountain views: Some campgrounds offer scenic mountain vistas as a backdrop to your camping experience. At Bergsparken RV Park, sites feature "views of Mt Spokane and gorgeous sunset views" according to Jerry A., creating memorable outdoor experiences.

What campers like

Dedicated campground hosts: Many reviewers appreciate helpful staff at area campgrounds. At Kootenai County Fairgrounds RV Park, "Previous host has been replaced with two new hosts who are very friendly. One host has lived in the area for many years and is very helpful with tips about things to do and see, including where to get 25 cent ice cream cones!"

Nature viewing opportunities: Wildlife sightings enhance the camping experience at several locations. Bill B. reports that at Bergsparken RV Park, campers should "Be ready for encounters with deer, rabbits, wild turkey, quail, and even the occasional elk and moose."

Walking paths: Scenic walking areas provide recreational opportunities without leaving campgrounds. Wallace RV Park features "walking nature paths and a pond with their own resident ducks," making it ideal for casual exploration according to Love4travel T.

What you should know

Wi-Fi limitations: Internet connectivity varies significantly between rv campgrounds in Hayden, Idaho and surrounding areas. At Blackwell Island RV Park, Kurtis K. notes "Wifi is bad. Really bad. That's not a big deal for us, but for some it may be a problem. There is a wifi room for those occasions you must connect."

Seasonal weather considerations: Winter camping requires additional planning. Kootenai County Fairgrounds RV Park provides year-round camping options but lacks shade trees. Mary F. reports: "Noted, they have planted trees but it is going to be a while for them to mature before they provide shade. 90+ degrees was brutal in this tar paved."

Road noise: Traffic noise affects several campgrounds in the region. Regarding Liberty Lake RV Campground, Travis B. mentions "You are maybe half mile from I-90 and road noise can be heard all hours."

Tips for camping with families

Kid-friendly amenities: Look for campgrounds with dedicated play areas. Blackwell Island RV Park offers "Nice volleyball and play area. Small BMX course was fun" according to Janet H., providing recreational options for younger campers.

Educational opportunities: Incorporating learning experiences enhances family camping trips. Silverwood RV Park connects directly to Silverwood Theme Park via "a pedestrian tunnel" as Jennifer H. notes, making it "A slamdunk if you're going to silverwood."

Budget considerations: Family camping costs add up quickly. Silverwood RV Park offers convenience for theme park visits but Brian C. points out "If you're in a self-contained RV this would work well" while tent camping may be less comfortable due to gravel pads.

Tips from RVers

Site spacing: RV site dimensions vary significantly between campgrounds. At Tamarack RV Park, Dan L. notes "Very well maintained and excellent front desk service. Wish there was space to sit outside at the picnic table but spaces are too tight - we would be on top of our neighbor's sewer."

Leveling requirements: Site levelness impacts comfort for RV campers. Bergsparken RV Park features "level pull through with plenty room for extra vehicle," according to Jerry A., making setup easier for larger rigs.

Winter accommodations: Some RV parks remain open year-round with special winter provisions. Tamarack RV Park operates throughout winter with "level asphalt pads" that help manage frozen ground issues, according to Nicholas M. who notes it's "open year round" with "pretty trees."
