Best RV Parks & Resorts near Dry Branch, GA

Several RV parks near Dry Branch, Georgia provide full hookup capabilities for traveling motorhomes. Fair Harbor RV Park in Perry features 280 sites with both 30-amp and 50-amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections on level grounds accommodating large rigs. Scenic Mountain RV Park in Milledgeville offers pull-through RV pads with 50-amp hookups and concrete sites suited for bigger motorhomes. "The sites are a little tight, but long. We didn't have to unhook our toad. Nice level sites," noted one Interstate RV Park visitor about the pull-through accommodations. Twin Oaks RV Park in Elko supports big rigs with 50-amp service and complete hookups including water and sewer, while Safe Haven RV Park in Macon provides similar amenities with sanitary dump stations.

Most RV parks in the region remain open year-round, though reservations become essential during Georgia National Fair events in Perry each October. Cell service varies between parks, with stronger signals at locations closer to Interstate 75 and more limited coverage at facilities farther east. Dump stations are available at Fair Harbor and Interstate RV Park but absent at several other facilities. Many parks implement pet policies allowing animals but restricting certain breeds or requiring leashes. Propane is generally not sold on-site at most parks, requiring trips to nearby towns for refills. Several reviewers mentioned road noise at parks situated near highways, particularly Interstate RV Park where proximity to I-75 creates noticeable ambient sound when air conditioning isn't running.

    Perry Ponderosa RV Park

    Safe, well kept campground

My husband and I choose to stay here when in the Macon area. Stayed 3+ months in lot 57, 2 weeks in lot 45 and 1 week in lot 14. Wonderful owners that live on-site. There are several full time campers but never any riffraff. Lots of room for dog's to walk and run their humans. Propane fill station, WiFi, laundry room, shower house, bathroom's and a small playground. Easily accessible right off the highway, level sites, 30 & 50 Amp, Water & Sewer and many pull through sites. A pool would make it 5 stars for me 😀

Easy pull-through level asphalt sites with full hookup. They have long term available. Pets are welcome.

    Claystone Park Campground

    Great campground to visit

I have lived in and around Bibb County, Georgia most of my life and I have always enjoyed going to Tobesofkee Recreation Parks. There were four parks but one was shut down (Flintrock Park). I believe the park was built back in the 60’s. Early morning on Mother’s Day of 2008 a tornado came through leaving destruction to all three parks. The campground bathhouse’s saved around 50 people that were camping when the tornado came ripping through destroying campers, cars and trees. The county has rebuilt the three parks and each one offers a little something different. It’s pretty great place in my opinion.

Claystone Park: Lake Tobesofkee access, large beach, playground, water sports, boat ramps, fishing, disc golf, several small pavilions, one large enclosed pavilion, numerous picnic tables throughout the park and camping. The campground has 45 sites, some tents, back-ups and pull through. Not sure about tents sites but all camper sites have 20/30/50 amp service, water and poor cable service. There are a few sites with sewer. The campground does have a nice bathhouse with coin operated laundry.

Sandy Beach Park: Lake Tobesofkee access, large beach, water sports, fishing, several small pavilions, one large open pavilion, numerous picnic tables throughout the park and a water park.

Arrowhead Park: Lake Tobesofkee access, small beach, water sports, fishing, several small pavilions, one large open pavilion, numerous picnic tables throughout the park, mountain bike trail, playground, boat ramps and camping. The campground has 58 sites, some tents, back-ups and pull through. Not sure about tents sites but all camper sites have 20/30/50 amp service and water; no cable. There are a few sites with sewer. The campground does have two nice bathhouse with coin operated laundry.

    High Falls State Park Campground

    Beautiful

The park is gorgeous and well maintained. It’s a little tight in a place or two but we’re pulling a 40’ fifth wheel and had no problems. We stayed in spot 71 which was a pull through with large lot that was really nice. Fire pit, picnic table and grill as well. I’m uploading a set of maps. You definitely need them as the sites are marked nicely but the areas are not and it’s very confusing. Also if you use maps on a device make sure you add campground because there are a few other places you don’t want to go pulling a rig since the campground is in a state park. Great for hiking, biking, fishing etc. Plain on zero internet or cell coverage. I’m all about the camping adventure but I like to be able to contact the kids if needed. Overall great place.

    High Falls State Park Campground

    Falls

Went to High Falls State Park in January. site number 27. We stayed 8 nights There are two campgrounds- lakeside and River camping area. Lakeside is by High falls Lake and is closest to the falls. River camping is across the street we stayed in River camping area. Nice sites but open to neighbors. Sites included table, fire ring, lantern hook. Some sites are 30 amp some 50 amp and had some pull through sites. After the weekend we were one of only a few in the campground in January. Weather may change this time of year we had a lot of rain one day and freezing temperatures overnight but mostly it was good camping weather. Camp hosts were awesome!!! This park is not far off i-75. Dollar general was a few miles other than that not much around. Very easy hiking trail to waterfalls and several trails along Towaliga River, ruins of an old Mill. There is no swimming in falls or river. Afterr rain falls were flowing very fast. This park also has a swimming pool, mini golf, yurts, boat rentals all were closed in January. Bathhouses were well maintained and had laundry facilities. Phone and TV reception we're good at this park. 8 days was too much here I would recommend 4 to 5 days or as a stopover point but would definitely return here.

    Big Country Camping

    Peaceful, Quiet, Large Campsites

Very nice owners. Very quiet and peaceful location. I had a full hookup site. Owners helped me get situated. Loaned me a water hose.  Felt very safe here. Beautiful sunrise. Excellent cell signal which is important since I work remotely from my camper.

    Al Sihah Shrine Park

    Quiet, Clean, Well Maintained

This is the nicest place to stay in the Macon area. I first checked out Safe Haven, and it was not a nice place. This place is run by the Shriners and apparently proceeds from the park go to support the children’s hospital. The campground area is huge with different site areas– short term, long term, and long-long term. I stayed one night in the short term area. There is a pond and a large event center with a commercial kitchen. Oddly, there are no bathrooms that I could find in the building. There are no bathrooms or showers anywhere in the park. It was designed for self-contained units. There are concrete pads with full hookups at each of the short terms sites but they are way too close together. I gave it a four but debated about a three because of site spacing and the lack of bathrooms/showers.

    Fair Harbor RV Park

Private even though it's right off the interstate

Absolutely love Fair harbor! The staff is great, they have a little store that sells amenities and lots of basic camping gear. Have 24 hour laundry, multiple showers with amazing water pressure, and multi stall and private bath houses including handicap access. A private [stocked] lake that toured welcome to fish, without needing a license. They have lots of permanent campers here, who pay their lot rent and have their own electric meter. In a standard RV site all amenities are included, water hookup, sewer, electric with 110, 30 and 50 amp hookups, cable and wifi! As well as little cabins for rent. Also horse stables and storage if you stay longer!

Guide to Dry Branch

RV sites near Dry Branch, Georgia offer convenient access to Middle Georgia attractions while providing necessary amenities for travelers. The area sits in Georgia's Fall Line region where the Piedmont meets the Coastal Plain, creating diverse terrain around 400-450 feet above sea level. Summer temperatures often reach the 90s, making swimming facilities particularly valuable for campers during peak season.

What to do

Fishing opportunities: Scenic Mountain RV Park features stocked ponds where campers can enjoy freshwater fishing. "There are two nice little ponds that are said to house some fish" at the entrance, and some visitors have "caught a few bass" while hiking the trails around the water features.

Historical exploration: Visit nearby Milledgeville's historic sites, including the former state mental hospital. "We were on our own little adventure to see ghosts! We were trying to find a place that was close to the old state mental hospital," noted one Scenic Mountain visitor who used the campground as a base for paranormal tourism.

Horse activities: Fair Harbor RV Park provides horse stables for equestrians. "Allows Horses. Horse stalls and paddocks Available," mentions one reviewer, making this park unique for travelers bringing equine companions.

What campers like

Clean facilities: Shower cleanliness consistently impresses campers at many parks. At Safe Haven RV Park, "The spacious shower had good hot water and great water pressure," while another camper noted the "nice, clean bath house with two full bathrooms."

Level sites: Twin Oaks RV Park receives praise for site preparation. "My site was only off level by 1 inch left to right so leveling and stabilizing were a breeze! Hard packed gravel and well maintained grass medians between sites," reported one satisfied visitor.

Pet amenities: Several parks cater to four-legged travelers. One reviewer highlighted that Scenic Mountain "have a dog wash station outside the bath house complete with a tub, a ramp and hot and cold water," while Twin Oaks features a "fenced in dog area which was really nice for those of us traveling with pets."

What you should know

Noise considerations: Highway proximity affects some campgrounds. "Road noise sleepable from I75 nearby" at Southern Trails RV Resort, while Interstate RV Park has "road noise from the expressway, but I expected the noise and understand that comes with the convenience of easy access."

Fire ant awareness: Georgia's climate supports fire ant populations at some locations. At Southern Trails, "Keep in mind this is Georgia so check for red ants. A couple spots we decided not to take as the ants were right next to water/electric hookups."

Reservation timing: During major events, advance planning becomes crucial. Fair Harbor fills quickly during fairground events, as it's "Near the Perry Ga Fairgrounds, Right off I 75."

Cell coverage: Service quality varies by carrier and location. At Southern Trails, visitors report "ATT hot spot nomad internet was strong" and "Cell phone signal was 4 bars (T-Mobile)."

Tips for camping with families

Playgrounds: Multiple campgrounds offer child-friendly recreation. At Perry Ponderosa RV Park, families appreciate the "small playground," while Scenic Mountain features "a playground, in ground pool, club house."

Swimming options: Pools provide relief during Georgia's hot months. Twin Oaks has a "great looking pool," though one winter visitor noted "it is empty. Maybe for winter?"

Kid-friendly attractions: Nearby entertainment venues enhance family stays. One Fair Harbor visitor mentioned they "Stayed here mostly to visit Rigby's and the aviation museum. My 6 year old had a great time with the other kids and pond and playground."

Security: Family-oriented parks emphasize safety. Perry Ponderosa earns praise as "Safe, well kept campground" with "never any riffraff," important for families with children.

Tips from RVers

After-hours arrival: Several parks accommodate late check-ins. Safe Haven stands out where "the friendly proprietor drove out at 11:15 PM to meet us at the gate, guide us to our site, and ensure we were able to see how everything worked."

Pull-through logistics: Site dimensions affect larger rigs. At Twin Oaks, sites provide necessary space with "the distance between sites makes you feel like you're not sitting on top of your neighbor. No obstructions for your slides and hookups were clean, maintained and ready to use."

Hookup configurations: Some parks have unusual utility setups. At Interstate RV Park, a visitor noted, "Our spot had an elevated sewer hook up which made dumping the tanks a challenge."

Monthly options: Long-term stays available at select locations. Safe Haven offers flexibility as "the monthly rates also make it economical for longer stays" and campers can "book a monthly spot the day of."
