Best RV Parks & Resorts near Clark, CO

Several established RV campgrounds operate near Clark, Colorado, providing varying levels of accommodation for motorhomes and travel trailers. Eagle Soaring RV Park features level gravel pull-through sites with electric hookups including 50-amp service, while Dutch Hill and Sunrise Vista campgrounds at Steamboat Lake State Park offer electric sites with both 30 and 50-amp connections but no water hookups at individual sites. "Sites are gravel for the RV, very level, and very well maintained. All sites are pull through. Hookups are in very good condition," noted one visitor about Eagle Soaring. Pearl Lake State Park Campground provides additional RV sites with electric, water, and sewer connections, though it operates seasonally from May through October. Most campgrounds in the area can accommodate larger rigs, with Steamboat Lake State Park specifically designated as big-rig friendly.

Access to dump stations varies significantly between parks, with Steamboat Lake and Sunrise Vista offering sanitary dump facilities while Pearl Lake does not. Cell service throughout the region is inconsistent—Verizon coverage ranges from strong to minimal depending on location and topography. Winter camping options are limited as many facilities close during snow season, with Yampa River Headquarters Campground operating from mid-April through November. Travelers should note the approach to some campgrounds requires navigation of mountain roads with occasional steep grades. A camper observed, "The road noise is distant and we did not notice at all in the RV," when describing Eagle Soaring's location. Most parks in the region welcome pets and provide picnic tables at sites, though availability of amenities like showers, laundry facilities, and propane varies considerably between locations.

    Eagle Soaring RV Park

Nice place to stay when visiting the area

We stayed at Eagle Soaring campground for three nights. We were in our class C while slowly making our way across the country. We had no problems getting a spot here. Sites are gravel for the RV, very level, and very well maintained. All sites are pull through. Hookups are in very good condition. Each site had a narrow grassy area with trees. Tables and fire pits were not available at the campsite. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

There were not a lot of amenities. There was a large meadow separating the campground from the road. Seating areas with fire pits were available by the meadow.  Showers and laundry are not available.

Steamboat Springs is just a few miles down the road. There are many indoor and outdoor activities to do in the area.

The campground is conveniently located a few miles off the highway. The road noise is distant and we did not notice at all in the RV.

We had 2 bar LTE with Verizon. Our hotspot was usable and performed very well. The campground wifi was average at best.

We enjoyed the peace and quiet of this campground.  The trees and meadow helped create a relaxing place to stay.  We will stay again when traveling this way.

North Park Campground — State Forest State Park

    Old KOA turned around!

This used to be a KOA campground that the state took back over and has refurbished. Brand new full hook up connection, connections, picnic tables, fire rings, gravel area with decomposed granite, shower house is BRAND NEW. So quiet and easy on and off the highway. Some highway noise but no semis and little traffic. Very little cell service- like 1 bar on Verizon. Would definitely come back. Little services so bring what you need. Walden is 20 miles down the road. We had a great pull through site with only one neighbor backing up to forest.

    Steamboat Springs KOA

Just a minute outside of Steamboat

Right outside of Steamboat Springs is Steamboat KOA. This campground has so many perks. Not only is there a beautiful Mountain View but it also has the Yampa river running through it. It has Rv sites, cute cabins, and tent sites. The Rv sites are separated in areas by what you need(electric, water, sewage). The RV sites each have picnic tables and a fire ring. There are regular cabins and deluxe ones which both include tables and fire rings. The tent area is located across the river and is so peaceful. There is a general store, putt putt, propane fill, a small dog run, bikes for rent, swimming in season and the city bus comes to take you to town for free. Although it is located right off the road, it was still peaceful and I felt safe. My favorite part about this campground is the fact you can stand on the bridge or sit by the Yampa River and enjoy the beauty and sounds, and watching people fly fish.

Encampment River Campground — Bureau Of Land Management

Nice secluded spots with trees next to the river

With a total of 8 well-maintained sites, each equipped with picnic tables and fire rings, this campground strikes the perfect balance between comfort and wilderness. The availability of essential facilities like a vault toilet and trash cans makes roughing it a bit easier. Plus, the added convenience of a boat ramp is a definite bonus for those looking to get out on the water.

Whether you're in a small rig or a larger one, you're covered here. There's a convenient pull-through site for ease of access, and the remaining spots can easily accommodate rigs between 20 to 25 feet. What's more, most of the sites are nestled beneath the cool shade of majestic trees, offering a cozy respite from the sun. The combination of well-equipped sites, riverside tranquility, and a touch of shade makes for an decent camping experience.

    Big Creek Lakes Campground

Beautiful, remote gem in the Rockies

We camped here July 25th-29th, 2018 with our 5 children (4-13) in our pop up camper.

First thing to know is this is a remote area of CO at 9,000+ ft. elevation. It is also an area that has been affected by wildfire (2016). It is still absolutely gorgeous!

Worst part—> You will have to travel down a gravel/dirt road for ~30 miles to get to the lake and campground. Sections of it are TERRIBLY washboarded. Plan for over an hour to navigate through. You will be rewarded at the end!

There is zero cell service (we have Sprint and Verizon), no electric/water/sewer hook ups or bathhouses. There are pit toilets throughout the campground that appeared to be very well maintained and cleaned often. There are also numerous water spigots throughout with potable water.

The sites are all HUGE, almost all are pull through and many offer beautiful lake views with trails directly from your campsite to the water. We were in site 14. It did not have a water view, but was still amazing. All sites are gravel and appear to be fairly level. Most have pine trees, boulders and other natural landscaping that adds to the beauty of the campground. Very nice metal fire pits and sturdy, large picnic tables (though many are slightly bowed) were present at each site we saw. Bear proof dumpsters were easily accessible.

We had hundreds of chipmunks visit us each day to clean up the kids’ crumbs. We also saw antelope and deer on the drive in and several moose, elk and a coyote off the highway heading to RMNP.

There are two trailheads in the campground, lots of areas to fish, a boat dock and horse corral.

This was our very first run at dry camping. We were 10 hours from home with 5 kids! We may be crazy, but lots of memories were made and we are calling this trip a big success!

This campground was only $10/night and a true hidden gem in the Rockies. (Those roads though...ugh!)

    Steamboat Springs KOA

    Great for Winter Camping

Women’s restrooms were great and hook ups were awesome. Camped here in our pop up truck camper for a ski weekend and it was great - the free city bus stops by the campground so was super easy to ride to the ski resort and downtown for dinner!

Pleasant Valley Roadside Camp on Hwy 40

    Covenient but not ideal

Rt 40 pull off - one of many - this is the first one you hit if you're driving south out of Steamboat. Road is in good condition and there's a flat enough shoulder to park on but no space off the road. A few long term trailers parked here and trash around fire pits. Nice view of the valley and sunset, but its main merit is convenience.

South Brush Creek Campground (Wy) — Medicine Bow Routt N Fs & Thunder Basin Ng

Drive north to visit the springs in saratoga

South Brush Creek Campground offers a secluded escape, reachable by a 2-mile gravel road off the beaten path. The journey from a paved road adds a touch of adventure to the experience. Keep in mind that the campground operates from Memorial Day weekend through September, so it's perfect for a summer getaway.

20 sites, including 6 pull-through spots for smaller trailers, complete with picnic tables, fire grates, and even toilets and trash service. But what really impressed me was the range of activities.

The Brush Creek Hiking Trail System had me exploring the area's natural beauty, and the Stump Hollow and Cedar OHV trails has a burst of excitement for off-road fans. If you're into fishing, the nearby streams are perfect. The Brush Creek Visitor Center's just a stone's throw away on Hwy 130. If you're looking for a mix of relaxation and adventure, this campground's got you covered.
