Walk-in access defines the camping experience at Coaldale Campground, where visitors carry their gear from the parking area to forested sites near a creek. This US Forest Service campground operates from Memorial Day through Labor Day and prohibits pets, creating a quieter environment for those who don't mind the extra effort required to reach their campsite.
The campground sits within San Isabel National Forest and provides basic toilet facilities. Several nearby options include Cutty's Resort - Hayden Creek and Hayden Creek Roadside Camp for campers preferring drive-up access or pet-friendly policies.
