Best RV Parks & Resorts near Witts Springs, AR

Several RV parks provide options near Witts Springs. Harrison RV Park & Campground offers 64 sites with full hookups including 30/50 amp electric, water, and sewer connections available year-round. Gilbert RV Park features more basic amenities with electric and water hookups but no sewer connections at individual sites. "Our site had water and 30amp service. The site was large and had trees around it offering a little bit of privacy," noted one visitor about camping in the region. Into the Woods RV Park in Yellville has just 6 RV sites with full hookups, while Blue Sky RV Park in Mountain View provides level gravel pull-through sites with 50 amp service and is open seasonally from March through November.

Mountain roads throughout the Ozarks region require careful navigation with larger rigs. Most parks accommodate big rigs, though site dimensions vary considerably between facilities. Dump stations are available at most parks when sewer hookups aren't provided at individual sites. Cell service varies significantly across the area, with visitors reporting good coverage at some locations and very limited reception at others. Many parks welcome pets but impose restrictions. During peak fall foliage season, advance reservations are essential as parks fill quickly. A reviewer commented that "sites have a lot of space between them with many Oak shade trees" at lakeside parks, though summer visitors should note that some riverfront locations "can be hot due to lack of shade trees."

    Whitewater RV Park

    No frills Downhome

Mountain View is a great small town in the Arkansas Ozarks. This is not the place to come if you have to be entertained but can make your own fun or settle back and relax. Whitewater RV Park sounds exciting, high speed but no. Time to kickback, read a book, head to the square and listen to the ozark mountain music they are famous for. You can find all kinds of things to do and a place to stay is at Whitewater RV Park on a quiet town street not that far off from the court square. Free WiFi and if you pay extra you can get high speed wireless. Cable tv, pull through sites, dump station, full hook ups, laundry, shower house, flush toilets. This park has mature trees with lots of shade. It is located walking distance from the courthouse which is in the middle of the square. Granted it is UP the hill but it makes for a nice walk. In the square during the season you will often find locals and visitors picking and singing. It is a treat and free for the enjoyment. Mountain View also has one of the few remaining Drive In movie theaters. Check this place out for the weekly and monthly rates. Stay six nights and get seventh one free. For a small town Mountain View has so much to offer it’s guests. It brings our minds to days gone be. Weekends will find pickers on the square or concerts at Ozark Folk Center. Few campgrounds have pools but you can find a creek to dip your toes in. You have your choice of stand up paddle board canoe kayak Loco Ropes mountain biking hiking antiquing movie’s trail rides fishing I think you have the idea. MOVIES. Mountain View has a movie theater and one of the few drive in theaters left in th USA. Both offer first run movies.
Have fun. Leave No Trace. Better than you found it.

Petit Jean State Park — Petit Jean State Park

    Fantastic State Park

Camped here on May 1, 2025. This is one of my favorite state parks in the USA. Lots to do here. Fantastic hiking trails - rated from easy to difficult. Since I live only 45 minutes from this park, I normally come here for the day for hiking. This time, I got around to trying out the park's campground. This popular campround is divided into 4 areas - A through D. There are a total of 125 campsites, including 26 pull-through sites. Thirty-five of the sites are Class AAA sites which have 50 amp electrical, water, and sewer hookups. There are 90 Class B sites offering 30 amp electrical and water hookups. All sites are reservable. Tent and hammock camping is possible depending on the sites. I camped at site 103 in Area D. The staff at the office helped me pick this site for my campervan. The site had water and 30amp service. The restroom/shower house was clean and well maintained. The campsite itself was dated but clean. The site was large and had trees around it offering a little bit of privacy. The pull-thru drieway was close to the campground road. The site included a picnic table, tent pad, lantern pole, metal fire ring, and grill. Solar charging and Starlink connectivity may not be possible at this site; Area C has an open sky above it. There was some road noise from vehicles driving on Petit Jean Mountain Road which is behind the site. Received good AT&T 5G cell service, but little to no T-Mobile 2G service.  Areas C and D are in the woods. Most of the sites in these areas are on the small size but should easily accomodate a truck camper and smaller. Not all sites are level. Areas A and B can accomodate large rigs and towables.

    Blue Sky RV Park

    Great Spot

This place is so much bigger than it looks. Great pull through sites. Great sites for family camping. It is located not far from town on a busy highway Highway 5 but once you pull off the road you would never know. Very shaded and mature trees. Owner has tried to think of everything but you will not find a swimming pool There are several outside family games and the local area is Loaded with fun things to do. Blue Sky even has event space that you can rent if you are staying in the park. 30 and 50 amp service cable TV available, free WiFi high speed with additional charge. Weekly and monthly rates available and check out the seventh night free. White River is not far, bring a boat or rent one. Trout fishing is great. Your options are open in this small community.  Get ready because Arkansas has ticks, chiggers, and humidity.
Far a small town Mountain View has so much to offer it’s guest. It brings our minds to days gone by. Weekends will find pickers on the square and concerts at the Ozark Folk Center. Few campgrounds have a pool but you can always head to the creek for a dip. Stand up paddle board, canoe, kayak, Loco Ropes, mountain bikes, hiking, antiquing, trail rides, fishing. I think that gives you ideas. Mountain View has a movie theatre and one of the last remaining drive in theaters left in the USA. You will find first run movies at both. Mountain View RV Park and Guest Motel

Good Things Come In Small Packages

I have driven by this campground numerous times not paying a lot of attention. Today I paid attention and realized I have made a mistake. There is a high fence that assist in keep this corner of Mountain View private. An oasis for anyone that wishes to venture in. A traveler will find a welcome smile and an amazing view. They will also find a well maintained campground and a motel. The campground offers concrete pads or gravel, 30 and 50 amp service, full hook ups, cable tv, wi-fi, high speed for extra fee, coin operated laundry, community fire pit with wood provided, dog friendly, showers and toilets and more. The motel offers all the amenities you would expect to find in a branded hotel/motel. There are eight motel rooms and two cabins available for rent. Both the campground and motel have access to two recreation rooms. Both have full kitchens, tv, stereo, dining tables and chairs. One recreation room has limited exercise equipment. There is 1.5 acres of green space that is also available for all guest. The view from the green space is worth dreaming over that morning cup of coffee. There are things you will not find in many campgrounds in Mountain View. Much of the entertainment in this area will be of a natural source. Weekends will find pickers on the square or concerts at the Ozark Folk Center. If you want to take a dip look to the creeks or the river. Stand up paddle boarding, canoe, kayak, Loco Ropes, mountain bike trails, hiking, antiquing, trail rides, fishing and I’m sure you get the idea. Movies. There is a movie theatre and the cherry on top is a drive in movie. Mountain View Drive In is one of only a few left in the US. You will find first run movies at both.

    Dam - Quarry

    Clean campground, nice location

Average space between sites. Level paved sites with gravel picnic area including picnic table, fire ring, lantern hanger. Some sites had covered picnic area. Limited shade, most sites don’t have trees. Good access to sites. Clean and private bathrooms. Each room had its own lockable bathroom with toilet, sink and shower. Garbage cans were outside of bathrooms, as well as dumpsters near the registration building. Friendly staff upon check in. Campground was patrolled regularly. No laundry or recycling. Nearby road with little road noise. Verizon cell signal was excellent. There is a dump station and potable fill station. No store or food for purchase on site. No hiking in campground, but multiple trails nearby. Boat ramp at campground and lots of wading fly fishing in river. Fish hatchery across from campground.

    Sylamore Creek Camp

    Great site!

We love this campground. We love having direct access to creek. It is kayak, family, pet friendly. The only thing it is lacking is internet connection, which for us is a plus for disconnecting. All sites are reasonably level. Site F is the premium and most secluded full hook up site. They have all levels of sites: primitive, water and electric, or full. Their small store has firewood and many other convenient items for sale. We take our own kayaks, but they do have rentals. They have public showers and restrooms, but the restrooms are currently closed due to renovations. It’s really one of our favorite local sites to camp.

Choctaw is located several miles outside the town of Clinton Arkansas.  I would advise stocking up before leaving home or in Clinton.  Located in the gently rolling hills of the Ozarks.  The roads are in good shape but like most roads in Arkansas they could be considered, not narrow, but not exactly wide.  The campground is located right off the road so watch for your turn.  Choctaw is one of the few parks in the Greers Ferry complex that is right off the main road.

The site numbers are well marked on the entrance of each site.  Some sites are more level than others and some are shorter than others.  Longer rigs will have to pay close attention to the size of the sites.  Area is well wooded giving a large amount of shade and a lot of needles and leaves.  If you don't carry a good broom you might want one to sweep your pad.  Trees are mainly pine so shade will continue through winter.  While we were there it was time for mowing but generally COE parks are well maintained

Little Red River and the Greers Ferry Lake produce an amazing outdoor experience.  Sitting all along the banks of Greers Ferry Lake you are able to have your pick of any number of COE campgrounds and private campgrounds.  Choctaw is a good example.

Arkansas is called "The Natural State" and it does live up to its name.  Greers Ferry is located in Cleburne County Arkansas with several small towns dotted around the lake.  There are between 30,000 to 40,000 acres of crystal clear water depending on the season and the rains.  You may fish, scuba dive, water ski, SUP, kayak, canoe, swim or just relax at your campsite.  Your choice but is geared toward the outdoor life.

Fishing is the sport of the day here.  You will find some of "The Best" fishing in the south with some bragging "In The World".  The lake holds the record for bass at 27 lbs 50 oz.  Tournaments begin in April and go through October.  Whether you are a local or a visitor fishing is done year round.  Every game fish native to Arkansas is stocked and maintained by the Arkansas Game and Fish.  Depending on the time of the year you are able to look forward to trophy size striped bass, walleye, and trout.  That is not to say you shouldn't hook your share of channel catfish, bigmouth and white bass and crappie.

    Have fun.  Stay safe.

    Blue Heron Campground

    Some nice amenities, some lacking.

My wife and I camped here for four nights. Overall it was nice, but there were some things that I wish we knew. The location is great in the sense that it’s easy to get to and it’s laid out well. Unfortunately, it’s directly under an overpass and it is loud- loud enough that I used ear plugs at night.

It’s located on the White river and has a very nice gravel boat ramp, which is a big positive. It also has fishing access during low water.

The WiFi is excellent and the staff are super helpful and friendly.

The biggest plus for us is the bathrooms were among the best that we have found. They’re clean and fairly new.

There is plenty of property to walk and they were very pet friendly. It looks like many of the guests are long term residents.

Guide to Witts Springs

Campgrounds near Witts Springs, Arkansas are located in the Ozark Mountains, where elevations range from 1,100 to 2,300 feet. The area experiences four distinct seasons with moderate rainfall throughout the year. Winter camping requires preparation for temperatures that often drop below freezing from December through February, while summer months typically see daytime highs in the upper 80s.

What to do

Fishing access: 25-minute drive to White River for trout fishing from Denton Ferry RV Park & Cabin Rental. "Knowledgeable staff, quiet park right next to the river. Not all sites have campfire rings but they are available," notes a visitor. The fishing is reportedly good with convenient water access via "a staircase down to the water next to site 8."

Folk music: 10-minute walk from downtown Mountain View. Whitewater RV Park offers proximity to local culture. "Mountain View is a great small town in the Arkansas Ozarks. This is not the place to come if you have to be entertained but can make your own fun or settle back and relax. Kickback, read a book, head to the square and listen to the ozark mountain music they are famous for," shares one camper.

Water recreation: 40-minute drive to Greers Ferry Lake from Fairfield Bay RV Campground & Marina. "The marina has a very nice, well stocked shop with a little cafe around the corner. I remember one of my favorite things when I went there as a child was when they'd give me a bag of fish food to throw to the massive catfish off the dock," recalls a visitor.

What campers like

Riverside camping: Direct access to Buffalo River at Gilbert RV Park. "When they advertise a stones throw from the Buffalo river, they mean it. The campground is small and a bit sparse, but the location to the river is unbeatable," reports one camper. The park includes a store that "contains everything you may need plus some."

Spacious sites: 30-50 feet between spots at Into the Woods RV Park. "Amazing little campground, spaces are very well spaced. 30-50 feet between RV sites. Just outside Yellville Arkansas with plenty of activities close," notes one reviewer. This family-owned campground provides a more secluded experience with only 6 sites total.

Shade coverage: Mature trees throughout many camping areas near Witts Springs provide relief from summer heat. A Blue Sky RV Park visitor mentions, "Lots of tall trees that are well trimmed above RVs. Sites further back would be quiet. Gravel pads that are level."

What you should know

Seasonal operations: March through November for some rv parks near Witts Springs, Arkansas. Whitewater RV Park operates seasonally, closing during winter months. "For a small town Mountain View has so much to offer its guests. Weekends will find pickers on the square or concerts at Ozark Folk Center," shares a reviewer.

Cell service variability: Signal strength differs between campgrounds. Most RV parks offer WiFi, with some charging extra for high-speed connections. Harrison RV Park & Campground provides "robust cable TV channels and screaming fast wifi," according to one camper.

Limited shower facilities: Single bathhouses at some locations require planning. "Only one bath house and it was atrocious dirty," noted one visitor at Fairfield Bay, though this appears to be an exception as most campgrounds receive positive reviews for cleanliness.

Tips for camping with families

Outdoor games: Multiple options for kids at Blue Sky RV Park. "Very shaded and mature trees. Owner has tried to think of everything but you will not find a swimming pool. There are several outside family games and the local area is loaded with fun things to do," notes a visitor.

Educational opportunities: Folk culture exposure within short drives of rv parks in the Witts Springs region. The Ozark Folk Center State Park provides demonstrations of traditional crafts and music, ideal for families seeking cultural experiences.

Entertainment options: Drive-in theater access from Blue Sky RV Park. "Mountain View has a movie theatre and one of the last remaining drive-in theaters left in the USA. You will find first-run movies at both," explains a camper. This unique attraction offers an affordable evening activity for families.

Tips from RVers

Pull-through accessibility: Level sites available at most parks near Witts Springs. One visitor to Harrison RV Park notes, "Our site was pull thru with full hook ups including robust cable TV channels and screaming fast wifi. Sites are a little tight but they have it setup that you park opposite of each other."

Tree clearance: Well-maintained overhead space for tall RVs. A Blue Sky RV Park visitor mentioned, "Lots of tall trees that are well trimmed above RVs." This attention to tree management prevents damage to roof-mounted equipment and solar panels.

Site selection: Consider location within parks for noise reduction. "Our site was up front so we had a little road noise from the 2 lane highway but it wasn't bad. Sites further back would be quiet," advises a Blue Sky RV Park visitor. Most parks offer various site options, allowing guests to prioritize waterfront views, shade, or distance from roads.
