Best RV Parks & Resorts near Mayflower, AR

Several RV parks sit within 30 miles of Mayflower, Arkansas, offering a range of amenities for motorhome travelers. Downtown Riverside RV Park in North Little Rock provides full hookups with 50 amp service, concrete pads, and year-round availability. The park features big-rig friendly sites with water, electric, and sewer connections. Sweet Escape RV Resort, with its 34 sites, offers both 30 and 50 amp electrical service along with full hookups and accommodates larger RVs on level sites. Gold Creek Landing RV Park provides big-rig friendly spaces with water, electric, and sewer hookups, though shower facilities are not available. "At first entrance it appears as if you are entering a large parking lot," notes one RV camper about Downtown Riverside. "The center lot is for pull through sites, the other site areas non-pull through by water and fence."

Seasonal considerations affect RV camping options in the region. While Downtown Riverside and Camp Robinson RV Park operate year-round, other facilities like Tar Camp are only open from March through October. Cell service varies between parks, with most offering adequate coverage for AT&T and Verizon users. Dump stations are available at all the RV parks mentioned, though their locations within the campgrounds differ - Downtown Riverside includes on-site sewer hookups at each space, while others require using a central dump station. Pet owners will find most parks accommodate animals, with designated pet areas at several locations. Navigation to these RV sites generally requires standard precautions for larger vehicles, with most parks situated near major highways for convenient access. Reservations are recommended, particularly during peak seasons, as many parks have limited availability.

    Catherine's Landing

    Very Nice, Lots of Amenities

Catherine’s Landing is a great RV park with lots of amenities and things happening. This park is an RVC Outdoor Destination property which is known for their “resort” amenities. The park is set on 400 acres with one mile bordering Lake Catherine and about eight or nine miles from downtown Hot Springs.

All roads, sites and patios are paved and this is definitely a big rig-friendly park. Every site has water, 50/30 amp, sewer, cable, and wifi. Fire pits and picnic tables accompany all sites. There are a variety of sites ranging from waterfront back-in, pull-thrus, or interior back-in. Waterfront sites have a nice view of the lake from the back of the site and access for fishing. The park also has yurts and cottages (some of which are pet-friendly). Adjacent to the yurts is a nice, large covered picnic area with grills, a dish washing station.

Lots and lots of amenities here. Hiking trails, swimming pool, fitness center, lounge, playground, dog park, zip-line, boat rental, boat launch, store, and disc golf. Some amenities (boat rentals and zip-line) are an extra charge.

Hot Springs is a nice little town nestled in the Ouachita Mountains with interesting history and natural beauty. We found plenty to do from hiking the National Park to learning about the bathhouse history to discovering the gangster influence. We spent four nights and could have stayed longer with all that the town offers. Most people come here to bathe in the soothing warm mineral waters but there is also a horse racetrack, science museum, off road track, water/theme park, alligator farm, and a few museums. Hot Springs National Park has miles and miles of great hiking trails and a great place to spend an afternoon. The town of Hot Springs is very dog-friendly and we found many places that would allow them in and on the patio for lunch.

    Pros:

    • Very nice, clean, well-manicured
    • Lots of amenities
    •  Paved level sites with paved patios
    • The dog park was a decent size for running and mingling with other dogs
    • The hiking trail(about 3 miles) was a big plus and got used a lot.

    Cons:

    • Price. We booked late and didn’t have too many sites to choose from we had to pay for a waterfront site

Petit Jean State Park — Petit Jean State Park

    Fantastic State Park

Camped here on May 1, 2025. This is one of my favorite state parks in the USA. Lots to do here. Fantastic hiking trails - rated from easy to difficult. Since I live only 45 minutes from this park, I normally come here for the day for hiking. This time, I got around to trying out the park's campground. This popular campround is divided into 4 areas - A through D. There are a total of 125 campsites, including 26 pull-through sites. Thirty-five of the sites are Class AAA sites which have 50 amp electrical, water, and sewer hookups. There are 90 Class B sites offering 30 amp electrical and water hookups. All sites are reservable. Tent and hammock camping is possible depending on the sites. I camped at site 103 in Area D. The staff at the office helped me pick this site for my campervan. The site had water and 30amp service. The restroom/shower house was clean and well maintained. The campsite itself was dated but clean. The site was large and had trees around it offering a little bit of privacy. The pull-thru drieway was close to the campground road. The site included a picnic table, tent pad, lantern pole, metal fire ring, and grill. Solar charging and Starlink connectivity may not be possible at this site; Area C has an open sky above it. There was some road noise from vehicles driving on Petit Jean Mountain Road which is behind the site. Received good AT&T 5G cell service, but little to no T-Mobile 2G service.  Areas C and D are in the woods. Most of the sites in these areas are on the small size but should easily accomodate a truck camper and smaller. Not all sites are level. Areas A and B can accomodate large rigs and towables.

    Red River RV Park

    Nice clean, small RV park

Nice clean, small RV park at Highway 67/167 and CW Road in Judsonia, one exit north of the Searcy Race Street exit. 30 spaces total with 3 pull through sites. No internet or laundry on-site but the electrical set up is good. Water and sewer are in good locations but the water connection box was holding water during our stay. Daily, weekly, or monthly rates available. My Verizon LTE hotspot averaged between 5 and 10 Mbps down and 0.8 to 1.6 up. My Verizon 5g phone averaged 75 to 85 Mbps down and 28 to 35 Mbps up. One of my neighbors was on a T-mobile 5g hotspot and was consistently over 50 Mbps download.

    Dam Site Campground

    Very nice and clean

We stayed 3 nights over a weekend in early September. We had a pull through site in loop N that was perfect for our 41’ fifth wheel...plenty big, clean, and level. It was a little sunny, but other than that no complaints. The other loops were more wooded, but wouldn’t be good for big rigs. We will definitely come again.

    Downtown Riverside RV Park

    Unique RV Experience

At first entrance it appears as if you are entering a large parking lot. There is a large pavilion to picnic and pet area by the water. Each site requires a 50 amp but the office will offer one for purchase if you need a 50 to 30 amp connections. The center lot is for pull through sites the other site areas non-pull through by water and fence. The fence area is close to the bridge but could be limited with views since it is far away from the water and Class A frequent area.

    Two things I love:

    1. The unique downtown riverside views
    2. The ease of getting to this RV park even though it is downtown Little Rock.

    H&G RV campground

    We really liked it!

An overnight stop on our route. Gary was great, most helpful and it was a pleasure talking with him. This is a rather small campsite and I recommend advanced reservations. Two pull through sites that do not have sewer hookups but there is a dump station if needed. Electrical hookups are 50 amp so have an adapter if you need 30 amp service. I’d certainly recommend it.

Gulpha Gorge Campground — Hot Springs National Park

    Beautiful, clean, great location

Beautiful, clean, great location. Camped here in Feb 2020, right on the river. Full hookups, mostly back-in but some pull throughs. Paved, level. Tent sites, too. Clean bathrooms, little camp store. Close to town. Would camp again.

    Hot Springs National Park KOA

    Clean with a dog park

D26 Back-in full hook-ups, fire ring & picnic table. 2 nights - Memorial Day weekend. Good spot, close to bath rooms/shower house/cafe. Pretty level - just 1 leveling block was all we needed for our pop-up. Lots of amenities- cafe, fishing pond, small general store, playground and off leash dog area. Staff was very friendly. Escorted you to your spot and helped us back in. Shower house was always clean. Loved the dog park! We are just starting to travel with our 2 boxers and was so nice to have an area for them to run a bit. Cons - spots are very close, no privacy. Each spot has a very bright “porch” light that is on until Midnight

    Downtown Riverside RV Park

Parking lot but close to downtown.

Talk about great location in a great town. We usually do not like camping in cities this big but wanted to come here to visit the William J. Clinton Presidential Library. And what a great location this park is to downtown Little Rock and the library. There is a pedestrian bridge that takes you over the Arkansas River to downtown and all the attractions; as well as, some great restaurants and a vibrant downtown.

This campground is essentially a parking lot.  There is no shade and our air conditioners ran non-stop since we were there in July.  There is a grassy area in front along the river that is a common area for you to enjoy the night sky. The riverfront is beautiful at night with the downtown lit up at night. Sites include 50 amp electric, water and sewer. There is also a dump station and WiFi. Some of the riverfront sites have been upgrades to concrete pads and some sites are pull-thru sites. The restrooms were clean and washers and dryers are on-site. The park takes any kind of RV from pop-up to Class A but does not accept tents. The price we paid was definitely reasonable at$22/night(with tax) but they also offer numerous discounts.

Downtown Little Rock is a great town with plenty to do, see, and eat. The great things about this park are that it is convenient to the interstate and a great price. For the location, you would expect to pay a lot more. We loved walking to town at night and enjoying the restaurants and breweries that bring the downtown to life. The weekly farmers market was a highlight and the Presidential Library is not to be missed.

Guide to Mayflower

RV campgrounds near Mayflower, Arkansas offer convenient access to the Arkansas River and Lake Conway, with most facilities located within a 30-mile radius. The region experiences hot, humid summers with temperatures routinely exceeding 90°F, making spring and fall the most comfortable camping seasons. Several campgrounds in the area feature waterfront sites allowing campers to fish directly from their campsites.

What to do

Fishing opportunities: At Willow Beach, every site is positioned along the water. "This is a pretty campground with huge trees for shade. The sites are extremely level! I didn't even need to level my pop-up camper!! The water hyacinths were in full bloom while we were here and are beautiful," notes Jo E. The campground's position on the Arkansas River provides excellent fishing access.

River watching: Campers at Tar Camp can observe commercial river traffic. Angela G. describes the experience: "So happy to find a site right on the river. We could watch the tug boats with their barges go by." The riverside location creates a unique camping experience compared to standard RV parks.

Birdwatching: The Mayflower region supports diverse bird populations. Burt at Camp Conway RV Park reports: "Must have seen 12 bird varieties thriving in the park." Camp Conway's layout and natural setting attract numerous bird species throughout the year.

What campers like

Spacious sites: Many Mayflower area campgrounds feature larger-than-average sites. At Sweet Escape RV Resort, the 34 sites accommodate various RV sizes. Jessie J. mentions "many amenities including laundry, bathhouse, very nice showers, and large dog park. We really enjoyed the fishing ponds as well."

Level parking pads: Several campgrounds feature concrete or well-maintained pads. According to William M. at Downtown Riverside RV Park, "All the spots had large concrete pads." This feature proves particularly important during rainy periods when soil saturation can affect stability.

Water access: Most popular campgrounds in the area feature water access. Willow Beach camper Shiloh M. notes: "Campground located on the river with beautiful scenic views. Covered picnic table and tall fire ring. Spacious camps. Flat pad." However, they caution about "lots of bugs due to being near the river."

What you should know

Seasonal closures: Not all RV campgrounds near Mayflower operate year-round. Steve S. noted about Tar Camp: "They have been repairing since it flooded they told me it would open up in March 2021." Always check current operating schedules before planning a trip.

Wildlife encounters: Campers should be prepared for various wildlife. Jennifer C. from Willow Beach warns: "We encountered lots of snakes. I shooed a few off the road and they disappeared as soon as they slithered into the grass, so to me it's pretty risky walking around or letting kids play in the grass."

Traffic noise: Some Mayflower area RV parks experience road noise. Steve S. observed at Morrilton RV Park: "It was a very nice park with full hook-ups, cabins, very clean and well kept. It pretty much has everything. Looked really great except it is right next to I40. LOTS of noise."

Tips for camping with families

Playground access: Family-friendly amenities vary between campgrounds. Kelly E. from Willow Beach mentions: "Beautiful campsite along the Arkansas River. The sites are all very spacious with very long back in driveways. Some of the sites had covered picnic tables, which was great." She adds that during her visit, "the playground was taped off."

Mosquito preparation: Water proximity means insect preparation is essential. Jeff R. cautions about Willow Beach: "Mosquitos are very bad." Similarly, Kelly E. advises: "It is near water so there are a lot of mosquitos, so come prepared."

Clean facilities: Bathroom cleanliness varies significantly between campgrounds. At Sweet Escape RV Resort, alex L. reports "the bathrooms are the cleanest that I have seen in a campground/RV park they clean them daily." This differs from Kelly's experience at Willow Beach where "the toilet paper is out or almost out in all of them and there is no soap in any of the dispensers."

Tips from RVers

Downtown access: RVers appreciate the convenient location of Downtown Riverside RV Park for exploring Little Rock. Michelle H. highlights: "Great location, walkable to downtown. Good WiFi, great reception. Overall, we both thought this was a great and unique 'campground' with full hook ups and a great price. It was nice to be parked in a place that didn't require driving to explore."

Security features: Some RV campgrounds Mayflower, Arkansas area implement security measures. Jennifer C. mentions that at Willow Beach: "They lock a gate every night at the entrance to the campground, however they do give you the code to the padlock."

Long-term stays: Several parks cater to longer stays. Steve S. notes about Brannon RV Park: "A very nice, well kept, shady little park. This is for weekly or monthly guests. Weekly rates are $130. Sites are a little tight but offer electricity, water, and sewer."
