Best Dog-Friendly Camping near Cotter, AR

Blue Heron Campground's concrete pads and riverfront sites provide direct White River access for pets and their owners. Located in Flippin, Arkansas, the campground offers pet-friendly tent camping, RV sites, and cabin accommodations. Denton Ferry RV Park in Cotter allows pets at all sites with available picnic tables and fire rings. The entire property at Blue Heron is kept clean and well-maintained, making it suitable for dog walking. Pets must remain leashed throughout both properties with owners responsible for waste cleanup. The grounds are secure with plenty of grassy areas for pet exercise, particularly in the tent camping sections. Most sites feature fire pits where campers can relax with their pets during evening hours.

White River access points provide excellent opportunities for dogs to cool off during summer months. Tent campers with pets will find grassy areas at White River Campgrounds with a creek flowing through the back section. The campground's proximity to the historic bridge allows easy access to the park across the river where pets can explore additional walking paths. Local wildlife and neighboring farm animals, including cows, can sometimes be heard from campsites, so pets should be monitored accordingly. Temperatures during summer can be particularly hot at exposed sites lacking shade trees, making morning and evening the best times for pet activities. The campgrounds maintain good WiFi connectivity throughout, allowing visitors to locate nearby veterinary services if needed.

    Branson Lakeside RV Park

Great RV park right on the river

Great atmosphere and sooo close to the Branson landing for dinner/shopping but also right on the river for a great day on the boat. Just a bit down river from Lily’s Landing (bait shop and a fun stop in for the kids to grab a snack). Walking distance to a park with play ground and two separate dog park areas (one fenced one open). Definitely an “RV PARK” nothing secluded about it if that’s what you’re looking for... very close to neighboring site and even in off season it was packed full the weekend we went. The sites along the river side had great big fire pits too.

Shady Oaks Campground & RV Park

    RARE FIND - Beautiful Park

RARE FIND Such a BEAUTIFUL place! I love all the oak trees and the sounds of nature are so relaxing. They offer a spacious dog park, which the dogs are currently playing at while I relax and take in nature. If you are looking for a small piece of nature where you can get way from it all but still be close to town, this place is it. Everyone here is friendly and the shared spaces are always very clean.

They offer great rates and a Military Discount too!!

    Enjoy your stay!

Denton Ferry RV Park & Cabin Rental

    Hot in summer

This is probably an excellent site in spring or fall. However summertime is hot at the site because of the lack of shade trees. Site 15 is by the water and has a large area for dogs or family. There is a staircase down to the water next to site 8. The fishing is good. It’s a pet friendly site however if your dogs bark neighbors will complain. The manager is friendly. They do not have trash pick up service; you just take your trash to a dumpster at the end of the camp, which is not a big deal. No grill available but has picnic tables and fire ring. WI-FI aid very good.

    Blue Heron Campground

    Some nice amenities, some lacking.

My wife and I camped here for four nights. Overall it was nice, but there were some things that I wish we knew. The location is great in the sense that it’s easy to get to and it’s laid out well. Unfortunately, it’s directly under an overpass and it is loud- loud enough that I used ear plugs at night.

It’s located on the White river and has a very nice gravel boat ramp, which is a big positive. It also has fishing access during low water.

The WiFi is excellent and the staff are super helpful and friendly.

The biggest plus for us is the bathrooms were among the best that we have found. They’re clean and fairly new.

There is plenty of property to walk and they were very pet friendly. It looks like many of the guests are long term residents.
