These cabins provide electricity, with many featuring covered picnic tables and outdoor fire pits nearby. Cabins at Aztec Village RV Park include hookups for water, electricity, and sewage connections, along with picnic tables and trash disposal. Designated pet-friendly cabins allow visitors to bring dogs, with specific policies varying by location. "Very large park with many different levels of camping experiences. Rustic cabin options can be found at Crown King's Horsethief Basin area, where cabins provide a more remote mountain experience. Horsethief Cabin in Prescott National Forest offers basic cabin accommodations with electricity and toilet facilities but prohibits pets. Several locations require advance reservations, especially during peak summer months when Lake Pleasant draws visitors. A recent review mentioned, "Been to this area a few times, the sites are amazing, quiet and beautiful."

Most cabins provide basic furnishings but require guests to bring bedding, towels, and personal items. Kitchen facilities vary significantly—some offer only outdoor cooking areas while others include basic indoor appliances. On-site stores at locations like Pleasant Harbor RV Resort and Destiny Phoenix RV Resorts stock essential supplies. Properties further from town centers, such as Happy Endings Retreat and Crown King, have more limited access to supplies. Visitors to more remote cabin sites should arrive fully stocked, as the nearest general stores may charge premium prices for forgotten items.

    Apple Creek Cottages

    Enchanting

Apple Creek Cottages is a hidden gem in the heart of Prescott. You’re surrounded by trees with a creek right next to the cottages. The cottages are old, but were still cozy, with a full kitchen and “fire place.” We had a bonfire out back near the creek and enjoyed the rustic decor. In the morning we made breakfast and sat out back again enjoying the views. Not too pricey, our new place to go in Prescott.

    Good place - Quiet

Convenient to SE Phoenix area. Far enough from the freeway to be quiet. An oasis surrounded by fields. Clean restrooms, pools, grounds, roads, sites. Nice folks working there. Refundable $20 deposit to get bathroom key. Did not use laundry. Stayed 3 nights. Very open, but a tree between each rig. Not much shade. Full hookups but no CATV. $73 per night. I will. Stay here again when I’m in the area.

    Pleasant Harbor RV Resort

    Clean

Large clean spots. All spots are fenced descent pool and small store if you need anything. We stayed in the loop near the entrance. Quite loud with all the cars coming and going. Marina for boat rentals with a shuttle to take you back and forth. Strong WiFi. Kids were able to zoom without any issues.

    Pleasant Harbor RV Resort

    Disappointed

Well we stayed here for two nights and frankly I wasn’t very impressed. The Campground is really only for permanent residents, everyone else ends up in a dirt lot essentially. Nearest bathrooms were a bit of a hike, so were all amenities. We paid for water and electric. The noise level was crazy... especially as we have a pop-up. I guess they don’t really enforce quiet hours. We got in late and finding our campsite was hard in the dark if you’ve never been there before. Lots of bugs at night. Honestly you pay $50 a night just to be by a lake and for me it wasn’t worth it 🤷‍♀️.

    Pleasant Harbor RV Resort

Great place to camp for the night in a RV

Depending on the water level, it can be a hike to the water. Nothing bad at all though. Has water, 30amp, 50 amp, and 20amp hook ups. Covered picknick table and fire pit. We definitely will come here again. Good Verizon cell service.

    Pleasant Harbor RV Resort

    Great summer fun

Large spacious sites. Several camping options available. There is dry camping, T-sites or Resort camping. T sites have only electric and water. Resort has everything. Lake swimming not your thing? Pool available with showers and store. Well managed and great family summer fun.

    Destiny Phoenix RV Resorts

    Very neat with orange trees

Staff very helpful when we came to help us park, but office & store were closed at 3pm on a Saturday. Couldnt get supplies or change for laundry.

Nice & quiet. All paved. 3 dog pens side by side to unleash pet for pottying and a long dog run I another area with toys & balls.

1/2 the Laundry machines did not work with card. Had choice of 8 quarters per load or card. I had plenty of cash if they’d had a change machine, but they didn’t & it was frustrating that 1/2 the machines didn’t work with card. Everything else was nice. Expensive but we expected that. $92-95 for pull thru full hook-up.

Store closed at 3 on Sat & closed Sun.

    Pleasant Harbor RV Resort

Great Campground with easy water access...lots of options

There are several different RV/Camping options at Pleasant Harbor Marina / RV Resort.

    1. In the resort with Full Hookups

    2. Out on the "flat" with just water and power (dump station on site)

    3. Out on the "flat" with no hookups. (can also tent / car camp)

As compared to the Maricopa County Parks side, this has a little bit more party atmosphere, is less secluded, but you can almost always get at least a boondocking spot without a reservation. They also have large events here as well so check their calendar for the weekend you are wanting to go!

We keep a boat at Lake Pleasant and are part of the Arizona Yacht Club so we are up here all the time.

Guide to Morristown

Cabin rentals near Morristown sit at an elevation of 1,300-2,000 feet, offering moderate winter temperatures that rarely drop below freezing. Summer highs regularly exceed 100°F from June through September, making spring and fall the most comfortable seasons for cabin stays. Most cabins in this area maintain year-round operations due to the mild desert climate.

What to do

Lake activities at Pleasant Harbor: Pleasant Harbor RV Resort offers direct water access with a free shuttle service for watercraft. "Free shuttle to haul kayak to boat ramp," notes Margaret T., making it convenient for guests bringing their own equipment. The marina also provides boat rentals for visitors without their own watercraft.

Hiking opportunities: Trails near Shangri La Ranch cabins provide options for desert exploration. "They have nature trails, volleyball, darts, horseshoe, pool tables, hot tub, sauna," explains Rachel Ann B., detailing the various recreational options. These trails are accessible year-round but are best hiked during morning hours in summer months.

Mountain exploration: The higher elevation cabins near Crown King offer cooler temperatures and forest terrain. "The trail up is bumpy and fun. The site had a fire pit and in winter everything was covered in snow and just breath taking," reports B O., describing the seasonal beauty. The area sits at approximately 6,000 feet elevation, providing a stark contrast to valley temperatures.

What campers like

Orange groves and fruit trees: Cabins at Destiny Phoenix RV Resorts feature unique landscaping with edible plants. "Orange, lemon, and grapefruit trees everywhere," shares Missy C., highlighting this distinctive feature. Guests can often pick fresh citrus during winter and spring stays.

Swimming facilities: Multiple cabin locations offer pool access for cooling off. "They have 2 pools (one is heated), volleyball, darts, horseshoe, pool tables, hot tub, sauna," notes Rachel Ann B. about Shangri La Ranch amenities. These facilities provide welcome relief during hot summer months when lake temperatures can reach uncomfortably warm levels.

Fishing opportunities: Cabin stays near lakes provide fishing access for multiple species. "The lake fish species present include Bluegill, Largemouth Bass, Channel Catfish, and Muskie," explains Justin M. regarding Horse Thief Lake near Crown King. Arizona fishing licenses are required and can be purchased online or at some larger cabin resorts.

What you should know

Road conditions: Access to mountain cabins requires preparation and appropriate vehicles. "Crown King has been amazing destination for my family for years," states Jaret E., though reaching these cabins demands navigating challenging terrain. The road to Crown King includes "~27 miles from i17/Bumble bee" of dirt roads according to Caitlin S., while Horse Thief Basin requires "a high clearance vehicle (4x4 highly recommended)."

Supplies and pricing: Remote cabin locations have limited shopping options with premium pricing. "The town has supplies but is over priced so fuel up before going up there," advises B O. about Crown King. Most cabin guests should arrive fully stocked with groceries and supplies from larger towns.

Bathroom facilities: Cabin bathrooms vary significantly between properties. "Refundable $20 deposit to get bathroom key," notes D37 about Desert Shadows RV Resort, while other properties feature shared facilities. Campers should confirm bathroom arrangements when booking.

Tips for camping with families

Pool amenities: Cabins with pools provide essential summer recreation for children. "Pretty pool and hot tub. People are very friendly and helpful," shares Missy C. about Destiny Phoenix, while Bryan S. notes about Pleasant Harbor, "Large clean spots. All spots are fenced descent pool and small store if you need anything."

Dog-friendly options: Many cabins accommodate pets with specific facilities. "They have 2 fenced dog runs," explains Missy C. about Destiny Phoenix RV Resorts, providing safe spaces for dogs to exercise off-leash.

Connectivity considerations: Cabin internet access varies widely by location. "Strong WiFi. Kids were able to zoom without any issues," reports Bryan S. about Pleasant Harbor, though mountain cabins typically offer limited or no connectivity.

Tips from RVers

Site positioning: Experienced RVers recommend specific site selections at cabin properties. "Make sure to book a spot up on cliff overlooking the water. Great sunsets," advises Margaret T. about Pleasant Harbor's premium locations that offer better views and more privacy.

Food options: Some cabin properties offer on-site dining. "Dillons restaurant smelled delicious but I packed too much food to not cook it up," mentions Justin M. about Pleasant Harbor. 50s Diner Backseat Bar & Motel RV Park receives consistent praise for its food, with Dan T. noting it's "Very clean great food nice people easy access and you can walk to the dollar general store."

Hookup configurations: RVers staying in cabins should note the utility setups. "If you're a Class A or C towing, you'll probably have to drop to to access the hookups, as they are at the back end of the pull-throughs," explains Ray & Terri F. about Desert Shadows RV Resort, highlighting layout considerations that affect check-in procedures.
