Staff treats you like family.....maybe better!

We were there two days the end of May 2021. We had reservations and arrived after hours. We had an issue connecting properly to the water. I alerted management(Lori) via text. She responded with urgency and quickly solved the issue and compensated us for our trouble. Quite frankly, I was taken…

Great Campground

Great campground and will be going back the next time I am in Valdez. Buildings are kept very clean and supplies always filled. Stayed at a tent site and enjoyed being able to set up under the trees. Not a lot of noise at the site even when the kids were playing on the playground. Also an area for…

Bring a table and chairs

You can see Valdez across the water from this campground. There are fire pits for each spot but no tables so you will need to bring your own.

There is cell phone service here as well as internet. There are 49 spots and they are located on both sides of the road so if you can’t find your spot go…

Previously Bear Creek

Remember there are two seasons in Alaska. Winter and construction. Plan for extra travel time.

Amazing views. Better than the parking lot RV parks in town. Well maintained and centrally located. If you are looking for hook ups this is the place to go. Camp in the wilderness but still get your…

Yes it’s a parking lot

Right across the street is Latte Dah Espresso and this is very close to hiking trails and all the other items you forgot to bring with you. Like nail clippers.

I usually give parking lots 3 stars but honestly if you go at the end of June there are A LOT of bugs at the well trees campgrounds. So…

Fishing Only

This really isn't a campsite, but more of a place to park while you fish. All the spots are directly along the road access. They do not have fire pits (although you can have a fire) or picnic tables at most spots. This is seriously just a place to be if you wish to be very close access to the…

KOA what's more to say

With cabins, tent sites, Rv sites this KOA has it all. There is a playground for the human kiddos and even another for the fur babies in your life. Store on site, firewood for purchase and dump. Sites along the paved bike trail but a bit outside downtown for riding in for us out of shapers. Sites…

Second Best for Downtown Valdez

Full hookups across from the small boat harbor. Not a bad place just a bit too squished for our liking. Not trees and privacy but better than the other two parking lit style RV parks in downtown Valdez. Close to fishing and the boardwalk too. Stellar Jay's and bunnies visit the main office daily.

Fishing for Salmon

The campground is along the road. It is just gravel sights. It was nice to have a bathroom in walking distance. However, the price was a little much for a night sleeping in a tent and not having access to potable water or electricity. The appealing part is that the campground sits right above the…
