    SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Cabin options near Powell, Wyoming include rustic accommodations at several KOA locations and private cabin rentals. The Cody KOA offers cabin lodging with amenities like picnic tables, fire pits, and access to the campground's facilities including showers, toilets, and a camp store. "The cabins have all the amenities you need- a kitchen (table, stove, fridge), full bathrooms, living room (with fireplace), and beds," noted one visitor about the Sunlight Rangers Cabin. The Cabin in Cody provides a more secluded experience with basic amenities including drinking water, toilets, and shower facilities, though without electric hookups.

Rustic and deluxe cabins are both available, depending on the location. The Sunlight Rangers Cabin features two-bedroom layouts suitable for families, while smaller one-room cabins can be found at Perry's RV and Campgrounds. Most cabins require advance reservations, with many locations not accepting walk-ins. According to one camper, "We stayed in a kamping kabin and got a queen+ bunk beds version which I wasn't expecting." Pet policies vary significantly - Sunlight Rangers Cabin prohibits pets entirely, while most KOA locations allow pets in designated cabins for an additional fee.

Most cabins include beds but require visitors to bring their own linens, towels, and toiletries. The Sunlight Rangers Cabin specifically requires guests to "bring your own sheets and sleeping bags." Kitchen facilities vary widely between properties - some offer full kitchens with refrigerators and stoves, while others provide only basic amenities. Cleaning responsibilities often fall to guests, with one reviewer noting, "You are responsible for cleaning the cabin before you leave - they did tell us that you will be charged if you leave the place a mess." On-site camp stores at KOA locations stock essential supplies, though selection is limited primarily to camping necessities and souvenirs.

      Sunlight Rangers Cabin

Loved the cabins, and great hiking!

I really enjoyed my stay at the Sunlight Rangers Cabin. I am a huge outdoors person, so coming here was perfect for me. There are some awesome hiking trails that lead you to some great views and scenery. The campground is located within the Shoshone National Forest and near Sunlight Creek. The scenery that surrounds the cabin is beautiful- lots of trees and mountains. The cabin was really nice, clean and well kept. You do have to call ahead of time to make your reservations because they do not take walk-ins. You do need to bring your own food and supplies because the campground does not provide that. You also are responsible for cleaning the cabin before you leave- they did tell us that you will be charged if you leave the place a mess. They do provide some cleaning products. Also, no pets are allowed. Thankfully we asked when we were booking the place, or else we would have brought our dog. We stayed in a 2 bedroom cabin, and had 4 people. The two bedroom cabin was plenty of room for the 4 of us. The cabins have all the amenities you need- a kitchen (table, stove, fridge), full bathrooms, living room (with fireplace), and beds. You do need to bring your own sheets and sleeping bags. During my stay, we hiked both days. We did Bonneville Pass and Jade Lakes. Jade Lakes was a pretty easy hike, however Bonneville Pass was definitely harder. Great views for both! I would definitely recommend hiking at least once during your stay. The Shoshone National Forest offers a great variety of hikes for all levels. I would just do your research beforehand so you don't get stuck doing a hike you can't handle. I would recommend this campground (however, it is about $150 a night, but worth it!).

      Our little oasis

We loved everything about this campground. My 4 yo son loved the pool and the playground. My 12 daughter loved the WiFi and extra clean showers and bathrooms. The laundry room was immaculate. We also got some fancy rocks for a very low price. After a long drive, this was amazing to arrive at a well organized ground, very level with picnic tables and trees and calming surroundings.

      Standard KOA

We didn't get to spend a ton of time here, just one night, but it's a pretty standard KOA. All the things you'd expect, like the activities and lodging options. We stayed in a kamping kabin and got a queen+ bunk beds version which I wasn't expecting. We had thought we had the queen-bed only. There wasn't much to be done about it as everything was booked. The bathrooms were clean and the dishwashing station was well maintained. The pool looked nice but we didn't get a chance to test it out. The tent sites along the side of the property were shaded and looked nice, but the ones in the middle were pretty basic with no trees.

One of the best for an overnight stay

I can’t think of one negative comment, even the towns 9 o’clock curfew alarm was charming. The concrete sites are level and spacious with tables, fire pits and charcoal grills. The grounds are well cared with a small playground and dog run. Staff are friendly and helpful. There is a paved walk just steps out of the campground where we took a walk and watched deer. We only stayed one night but wish that all our campgrounds could be like this one.

      Red Lodge KOA

      Pleasantness Personified

Bright, friendly, family-style situation 10 minutes north of Red Lodge. Responsive and friendly hosts make navigating the COVID pandemic easier. The north tentsite side has the benefit of river ambience, while the south side has the kid playground amenities. They were renovating the pool as of early June but looked to be making good progress. Easy to find, glorious hikes around Red Lodge, which boasts the Beartooth Mountains, home of ski runs going 9-10 months of the year (including now) and one of the nation’s highest passes. I never give 5 stars unless there is spectacular scenery in or right around a campsite, and I didn’t see them enforcing quiet hour (although it wasn’t a big deal). A good value, all things considered.

      Red Lodge KOA

Great campground with awesome new owners

I was nervous pulling in since we're glampers, but was so pleasantly surprised. The new owners are the most hospitable, friendly and helpful people we've met. The ample renovations are clearly visible. What a great clean campground near the Beartooth Hwy, Chief Joseph hwy and beautiful Red Lodge. Within hour of Billings or Cody. About an hour and half to northern Yellowstone also. The hook ups are awesome, heated pool, immaculate facilities, and awesome trail off the CG. The only drawback was spotty WiFi and limited channels using antenna. Sites were level, patio sites are beautiful and cabins are new or completely refurbished. We loved our time here and highly recommend a stay here. Don't miss the awesome local businesses. The stores and views are breathtaking

      Great stay!

Nice little campground, tucked just outside of town. Minutes from stores and restaurants. This KOA had a pool, play ground, laundry room, rec room plus many more. Really enjoyed our stay while passing through. Town does have an old siren that goes off at 9pm but it’s not very loud and doesn’t last very long.
