No-Shows Overnight and Day-Use Facilities: A no-show customer is one who does not arrive at a campground and does not cancel the reservation by check-out time on the day after the scheduled arrival date (or for day-use facilities, by check-in time the day of arrival). Staff will hold a campsite until check-out time on the day following the arrival date and will hold group day-use facilities until check-in time on the arrival date. No-shows are assessed $20.00 service fee and forfeit the first night___s recreation fee for a campsite or forfeit the entire day-use fee for a day-use facility. Early Departures If a customer departs prior to the scheduled check-out date, they may be eligible for a partial refund. Please notify staff at the facility if you depart early to allow others to use the site. Customers may notify the call center to request a refund of remaining unused nights. If a customer requests a refund for an early departure after the facility check-out time has passed, the customer will not be refunded for that night and is eligible for a refund on any additional nights that will not be used. Interagency Pass Discounts The following are the only Interagency Passes that provide a discount on camping reservations and some tickets: Senior Annual Pass Senior Lifetime Pass Access Pass Golden Age Pass Golden Access Pass Eligible pass discounts only apply to individual campsites and may apply to a ticket for the pass holder. Interagency Pass discounts do not apply to group reservations, cabins, shelters, and multi-use sites (doubles, triples, etc.). Pass discounts only apply to the recreation (or use) fee for the facility. Other charges such as electricity or water hookups, reservation or other fees are not eligible for a discount. The holder of the pass must occupy the site for which the discount is applied. The pass can only be used for one site during a time period. Refunds Customers may submit a refund request through their Recreation.gov profile within 7 days of the end date of their reservation. Customers may also initiate a refund request through the call center at any time after their reservation has ended. Fees: Applicable fees, such as reservation fees, service/cancellation fees, lottery application fees, and change fees, are non-refundable. Debit or Credit Card Purchases: Refunds for debit or credit card payments made after October 1, 2018 will be issued as a credit to the original bank or credit card used to pay. In the event that a customer has cancelled this card, they will need to contact their card company to have the funds released. We cannot issue refunds to any card other than the one used to pay. If a customer paid with a debit or credit card prior to October 1, 2018 their refund will be issued in the form of a Treasury check. Check or Cash Purchases: Recreation.gov will mail a Treasury check for refunds of cash, check, or money order payments to the address associated with the reservation. You may update the address at the time you request the refund. It may take up to 6-8 weeks for the Treasury check to arrive. Please make sure your address is up to date in your customer profile. Emergency Closures: In the event of an emergency closure, the Recreation.gov team or facility manager will refund all fees and will attempt to notify you using the contact information within your Recreation.gov customer profile. Reservation fees for free tickets are non-refundable in the event of an emergency closure. Recreation.gov Billing Information Reservation transactions will appear on customer's credit card statements as "Recreation.gov 877-444-6777 NM" Changes to Policies and Procedures Recreation.gov reserves the right, when necessary, to modify reservation policies. Arrived on a Friday afternoon and snagged a spot with a great view but no shade, which was fine with me. The site was nice and flat with a fire circle. The road in was a bit rough because Google maps send me the back way and not on 150. I could see neighbors but not hear them. Minus one star for the tough access after rain and for the reservoir being dry on the end of this particular spot.
It is very close to the interstate and thus noisy. Laundry worked quite well and we got a 5 dollar discount being a senior citizen over 52, lol. Showers are clean, but waterpresure is low, so it takes a bit to wash out shampoo.
Our Ford navigation was having a bad day and wanted us to take Exit 91 from I-80 west bound to get to the campground (CG). That exit would have you going through the middle of town, but the alternate navigation we always run(either Waze and/or Google Maps) brought us to the correct exit for the CG. We double-checked the website and verified they are located right off of I-80 at Exit 85 (east bound) or 89(west bound). When we got to the CG, another rig was checking in, so we had to sit on the somewhat busy road until we could make the turn on the street for the CG office. The lady checking us in was super friendly and we proceeded to the upper E section to pull through site 11 with FHUs. The pad was plenty long enough for our 40’ fifth wheel and our F450. The utilities worked fine but we needed a reducer as the water pressure was around 100 psi. We read reviews concerning low water pressure and they were working on the waterline in the CG so be aware. There are trees in or near most of the sites. We put our Starlink in the front part of the pad for a northern sky shot. There are 34 sites in the E section; 19 pull-throughs plus 10 small back-ins and 4 tent sites on the back fence where I-80 runs(you will hear road noise anywhere in this CG. There’s a bathhouse and a small fenced dog area. While we were here for 3 days, the poop bag dispenser was empty and the regular-sized garbage can in the dog area was 1/2 full of poop bags. The laundry facility is in the bottom section where the larger back-in sites/permanent party are located. We checked out the public river access at the end of the road down from where the office is located. You could launch a kayak, but there isn’t much parking. After trying to log into the CG WiFi several times, we connected and the WiFi was not good. We got 3 bars on Verizon. One of the transient workers started a loud diesel truck and let it run a long time before departing each morning. Unfortunately, this is a typical occurrence in these types of CGs. We were impressed with the local area brochures they gave us on local dining and the wild horses. They have 24-hour laundry and showers in the CG. In our humble opinion, the best thing about this CG was the coffee and craft beer on draft at the office. They have 4 craft beers on draft and you can get a flight for$5. The coffee and draft beers at the officer are worth checking out. Try a burger on a cornmeal bun at Broadway Burger Station in Rock Springs. This CG was okay for an overnighter or a couple of days at most.
Yes, there were mosquitoes, cows, and a bit of green water, but it was very peaceful and beautiful. Whenever the options are a crowded and powered RV campsite versus a peaceful boondock such as this, we opt for the latter. Hope you enjoy it.
Ok, why would anyone pay $175-$285 a night to stay in old smelly FS bunkhouses that likely have a long history of housing mice, rats and racoons! The areas by the old cabins are not large enough to park many vehicles. Any camper with their own travel trailer or RV is going to camp anywhere on Ashley NF, including by a lake for free or a lot less. Likely why no one was staying there on the Utah pioneer day week. Not even close to a lake, just stuck in a dense shaded tree patch... No views even.
Sites 1-14 are best for RVs trailers, sites 15-20 are small for tenters. Three big group areas in the middle. Vault toilets, tables and fire rings but no water or trash
This is a primitive camping area by Sheep Creek Lake. No amenities, no established campsites, no toilets, no garbage dumpsters, no water, no cell signal. Road access is gravel graved. A primitive boat ramp is available. This lake seems to be more of a Fish and Game nursery lake for raising Colo River Trout.
Convenient location. Kind of. 374 is closed for several miles just northwest of here - we came from that direction so had to hop on 80 and backtrack a little after hitting town.
It’s a great spot if it fits your needs but it’s mostly pavement and amenities. The tent and back in sites are closest to the highway noise. But doesn’t matter because everyone gets the noise. Probably want earplugs, a fan, or a/c.
Small gem along the Green River. Open habitat with cottonwoods and willows. Great birds! And access to river for fishing. Some mosquitos in the evening but not bad. Thoroughly enjoyed our one night stopover here.
I had a lovely stay. The grass was nice and green. The WiFi was strong. Easy pull in pull out. The owner and employees were lovely. I did not use any facilities. But I would highly recommend!!!
Great boondocking spots if you’re willing to get off the beaten path and get a little dirt.
I never saw any staff, there were few campers. The bathroom had some black bugs. Had to flush toilet a couple times and rinse sink out to get them out of my way. No cell service at campsite but walk to the road and you can get a bar.
And I got it at fossil butte. At north end of park is a 17% grade loose gravel narrow road with two hairpins - good luck! But northern end of park boundary is well marked. Dark dark sky and unbelievably quiet.
Entrance is marked as Firehole Campground, about 12 miles from Green river. Road is not maintained and deeply rutted. Made it about 5 mi in and created my own turnaround spot as there are none. Ended up in a previously used camping area that has no fire pits or any facilities whatsoever. Fire danger all around so didn't build one. No rocks anywhere to create a fire pit. Nice, Serene and quiet location. No Wildlife to speak of. Great for one night but no service of any kind including cell or gps.
We spent this past Friday night at this dispersed campground. While the grounds are beautiful, it was extremely noisy with Harding going on all night by the Lakeshore. It was extremely noisy with all of the power equipment on and near the lake, including ATVs, generators, speed boats. If you were looking for peace and quiet, I would move away from the Lakeshore and Camp on the road going out. The road going out is quite rough and has about mile and a half of pretty bad washboard and is sandy in some spots as well

Open sunny CG, not on the water. Sites are the weirdest ever, you share a parking area with the next site like as if it was a double site. Has dumpsters, toilets, showers, scattered water spigots. Host was onsite and helpful. 37 sites, 1/2 are reservable. $25/$12.50 senior. Access road is nice paved hwy 10 mi from #191. Boat marina is down hill from CG. NO CELL SIGNAL on any carrier so bring Starlink or a good book
This is a sectioned off section ofr the parking lot at the boat ramp where 4ish rvs can park/camp. While the camping isn't much, it is right at the boat ramp/launch which is super convenient. There are toilets. Very little shade.
Dispersed beach camping, vault toilets, dumpsters, great views and direct access for swimming, kayaking or paddle boarding. Boats can be put in at marina and beached here. No trees or shade but a light constant breeze in jun when we visited
Upon initial set up we were thrilled. Great cell service, views, and can’t beat a fire and smores on the beach.
A couple of downsides. Lots of expansive soil. Impassable when wet. Our 2 wheel drive van got stuck in muck. Jeep pulled it out luckily. Open range means lots of cow pies. And remote camping without enforced WAG laws ( “waste alleviation and gelling,”) you will find human “pies” as well. Mix in dogs running around in rain….
Very large dispersed camping area. As the starting point we chose Anvil Draw Boat Ramp. From here many roads bifurcate and you can select many other dirt roads - where to go and where to stay, by the water or on top of the hill with 360 views (google maps shows them pretty accurately). We stayed 5 nights - the longest so far and it wasn’t planned that way. But then the weather, surrounding areas and things to do made us stay longer - without any regrets. We had couple of days very strong winds. But others were hot and sunny to pull our inflatable kayak and paddle around. The waters were calm. Another day we explored to the other side of the gorge (Utah - gorge overviews, Red canyon, geological Sheep Creek Canyon Loop). There are many mosquitoes but as mentioned, they strangely don’t bite and are appearing in intervals and random places - behind protection of the wind and mostly at sunsets. Plenty of cows, pronghorn antelopes, variety of birds. Overall very quiet place with occasional sound of boat passing in the waters. Not much shade or trees around. Perfect view place to recharge and move on to next destination.
This small CG is tucked along the creek and has cottonwoods for shade at some sites. $15/$7.50 senior. One vault toilets, one dumpster. No water and no cell signal so bring your Starlink! Only three stars due to native surface road without gravel that would be muddy in a heavy rain. And sites are a bit rough looking.
Great campground for our over night stay. Clean bathrooms. Good internet. Level sites.
This is a residential street NOT a recreational area.
Location- 39 miles south of Evanston, Wy in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest of Utah. It is on the east side of Hwy 150 and sits at 9,100'. There are 15 single site and 6 dbls sites. Reservable with water, sometimes (had it when we were there) and vault toilets.
Some sites aren't level and some sites can become lakes in heavy rain (our friends were in #3 and we almost had to get out the boats!).
Hosts were nice and kept the facilities clean.
Pretty area with the Hayden Fork of the Bear River on the east side of the Campground. Whiskey Creek Trailhead across the Hwy from the CG. Trail leads to Bourbon Lake (yes- this is Utah!).
Beautiful drive from Evanston. Ranger station is about 5 miles north of the CG. Just beyond that is a dump station. Don't remember if there is a sign but it's a hundred yards or so down a little forest road east of 150.
We tried fishing the river by the CG and below the confluence with the East Fork. Caught nothing and saw nothing.
This is one of those places where you want to have everything you need with you.
Evanston and Kamas are 40-ish miles away.
Looks a bit dangerous, right? If I had a choice, I would choose to stay home and play poly track rather than come here
