Best RV Parks & Resorts near Greenwater, WA

CAMPER SUMMARY PRESENTED BYFord

Several RV parks provide accommodations near Greenwater, Washington, with varying hookup options and site features. Crystal Mountain RV Parking offers electric hookups with no water or sewer connections at designated sites. The Enumclaw Expo Center RV Park provides water and electric (50 amp) hookups on spacious sites approximately 20 miles from Greenwater. "Very quiet and low key. It is situated next to a H.S. stadium so the game nights get a little bit loud but really not that bad," noted one camper about the Expo Center. South Prairie Creek RV Park, located within 30 miles, features full hookups including 50-amp service, sewer connections, and water. Tall Chief Campground in Fall City accommodates larger motorhomes with 30-amp electric and water hookups on pull-through sites surrounded by trees.

During winter months, Crystal Mountain RV Parking becomes significantly busier with ski traffic, while summer availability improves. Dumping facilities are limited at most parks, though sanitary dump stations are available at Tall Chief Campground and nearby towns. Cell service varies significantly throughout the region, with stronger connections at parks closer to Enumclaw and Fall City. Many parks enforce a 14-day maximum stay and have restrictions on RV age. According to a review, "RV's older than 2003 not allowed" at the Enumclaw Expo Center. Road access to higher-elevation parks may require navigating steep grades and tight turns, particularly problematic for larger motorhomes. Pets are permitted at all area RV parks, though some have breed restrictions. Most parks remain open year-round, though mountain access becomes more limited during heavy snow periods.

    Crystal Mountain RV Parking

Great base-camp for winter and summer adventures at Crystal Mountain Resort

Stayed here for the first time in July 2021.  I understand this opened last winter.  Talking to the host, I found out it is far more popular in winter when ski season is open. It was quiet and sparsely filled in July on a Friday and Saturday night.

3 different areas respectively for large RV and 50 amps power, small RVs and 30 amp and tent only area. A fee picnic tables (no benches) available toward the tent only area.  Bathroom are just two sani-cans. Relatively clean.  There is trash and recycling behind the office which is adjacent to the host RV.

Free WI-Fi (the host will give you code) and good LTE connection on AT&T.

Silver Creek runs behind the lot and gives a  bit more of a natural feel. Otherwise you are in a giant parking lot (Lot B).

Can't beat the location for skiing and hiking or biking at Crystal Mountain!

Squaw Rock RV Resort and Campground

Good base camp for doing Outdoors Activities

I wanted to fish for a few days without having to drive to somewhere else to fish. We chose Squaw Rock for its amenities and its river access. Our rating is based on how well it met our desires. We felt Squaw Rocks location was good for making day trips. We'd stay here again. This is a mixture of cabins and RV sites. The cabins are nice and nicely laid out on the property. The RV sites back in onto the Naches River, unless you decide to drive into the site and face the river like we did. We ran our water and electricity under the coach to the service point. Our site was very close to level. The sites are very close together and you share the site utilities. It can get tight. Not all sites have sewer hookups. The common grounds are well-kept. The pool was clean and checked/serviced each day. The staff were very friendly and helpful during our stay. We found others staying here easy to meet and/or chat with. Know what you are getting! Single utility service serves two sites. The water spigot has a Y splitter to share a single water connection.- Power has one 30 Amp and one 50 Amp socket. The first rig arriving gets to choose which one they want to use.- There is NO Park RV Dump station. You're in a valley with NO cell service. Wi-Fi in the park is non-existent. There's a weak signal near the office. We camped at Squaw Rock Resort in a Motorhome.

    Rimrock Lake Resort

    Beautiful sunsets, but windy

We stayed in Site 11 for 2 nights at the end of June 2025.

The campground is located on the side of HWY 12 on a small rocky peninsula, this surprising spot on Rimrock Lake (reservoir created by the dams built about 100 years ago) is run by a retired couple for the last 5 years (as of summer 2025).
It offers a boat launch, 25 or so sites of mixed services (ranging from full hookup [elect/water/sewer] to basic site with picnic table and firepit), and a couple of cabins, and a bath-house on the east side (2 separate restrooms with shower stalls).

The sites are mostly back in, with a few (like site 11) that are pull-through.
The western side sites (1 - 17?) have beautiful views, but the typical afternoon/evening wind can be quite, well, windy, while the eastern side is sheltered from the wind. We hiked around the small peninsula and the wind disappeared.
The small office has a few snacks and camping items but isn't open all the time - only when the owner couple is around.
If you are going to go hiking, you only need to drive a few miles west on Hwy 12 to find several other public campgrounds and some nice scenery, while continuing west up towards the pass and ski resort area on Hwy 12 has several scenic viewpoints that you should plan to stop at for a few minutes each (Lava Falls, etc).
The lake itself is rather sparsely used (one or two boats or a jet ski way off in the distance). We had three very friendly chipmunks who visited our site often and were happy to sit on the old stump and join our camp.

Cougar Rock Campground — Mount Rainier National Park

    Nice place

Nice campground on the SW corner of Mt Rainier NP. We were here in the off season, meaning that reservations are not taken and everything is FCFS. You stop at the ranger office at the campground entrance and you’re given a campsite. $20/night. Zero cell service in this whole area (but there was good cell reception and wifi at Paradise, and free wifi at the museum 2 miles down at Longmire).

There are water spigots at this campground, flush toilets, no showers, trash dumpsters, and glass, plastic, and aluminum recycling. Each site has a picnic table, bear box, and fire pit. The dump station has been non operational for several years and the ranger said she doesn’t think it’ll ever be fixed.

The length limit here is 35 ft for a motorhome, and us at 28 ft head to toe felt very big here. The Wonderland Trail hike can be accessed from this campground, just across the road. Lots of trees in this campground, and we struggled to keep our batteries charged via solar, though there looked to be enough open sky for starlink (we don’t have starlink so I can’t say). All the loops here in this campground are pretty similar in layout and landscape.

    Blue Sky RV Park

    Awesome park

We reserved a space for 1 night the day before. Great communication with Brett, everything went really smooth. The facilities are great and very clean, the park very quiet. There are a lot of big rigs parked there, some of the pm long-term as it seems. We enjoyed ourselves and would definitely visit again.

    Elkamp Eastcreek

    Best place in Washington state

This is the cleanest, most cared for camping site I have ever been to. The owners Tom and Brian, make your stay very enjoyable. They care about you having a great experience, whether you’re a first time camper or a seasoned camper. They have a great store with snacks, wine, beer, and local sourced goods. They have games you can use while you are there, like corn hole and board and card games, free of charge. Sites are large for travel trailers and motor homes, they also have tent and group sites. Trailer and motor home sites have power and water, there is a dump station you can use on your way home free of charge. The bathrooms are large and very clean, the shower is 4 quarters for 6 minutes, those of us who try to take a 3 minute shower in our rigs so we don’t run through all the hot water so our partner can have a shower without waiting for the water to get hot again it’s a blessing. In the evening Tom or Brian drive through the park seeing if anyone needs ice or firewood, if there’s not a burn ban, bring a propane fire pit for your camping experience. They also sell propane so no fears on running out. The best thing is you are under a large canopy of trees which helps to keep you cool even on the hottest days. There is a small creek to put your chair in and put your feet in the water. Our first year there we brought 4 other people, this year it was 28. We make Elkcamp our yearly get together. Family friendly and a great place to unwind. You’re only a few miles from mineral lake, bring your trunks, inner tube, or your paddle boards. I’d give it a solid 10 out of 10.

    Kanaskat-Palmer State Park

Nice & quick camping option from Seattle

We stayed 1 night here for the maiden voyage of our recently purchased travel trailer, which was nice since it's only about an hour away from our place near Seattle. Arrived Friday early evening and it wasn't busy at all.

The check-in process was easy, even though their reservation system was down at the time. Filled up w/ some fresh water at the dump station, which was clean and well maintained.

Campsites in the RV loop were spaced out enough with vegetation between them so as to provide some privacy. Our site had a pull-through driveway, 30amp hookup, a fire ring and picnic table. Bathrooms in that loop were pretty nice... heated and very clean.

Took a walk down to the day use area by the river, which was easy for us, but some portions of the trails closer to the river were slightly overgrown w/ a few obstacles, which could be problematic for some. Didn't see any kids play structures down there, which would be nice to have for families.

We heard a couple trains while there, but the noise wasn't too loud. Never heard the fire siren that they warned us about. Overall, it was a good camping experience for a quick trip and would return!

Cougar Rock Campground — Mount Rainier National Park

    Stars, mountains, buglessness

Best stars you'll see all year if you go on a clear day (go in the summer)! You can see Mount Rainer during the day, and take day trips to hiking trails with mountains and waterfalls and even a gondola near the ski resort. RV friendly and dogs welcome at campsite (just not on trails). Running water, flush toilets, and fire pit available. Not many bugs, might might get cold at night. Ranger apprently does an info talk around 8pm. Book site in advance (fills up quickly). Will have to pay a national park fee to get in.

Guide to Greenwater

Dispersed camping options surround Greenwater, Washington at 1,746 feet elevation in the Cascade foothills, where rainfall averages 70 inches annually. Summer camping near Mt. Rainier National Park provides cooler temperatures than lowland areas, with nights frequently dropping to 45-50°F even in July and August. Winter conditions bring heavy snowfall to higher elevation sites from November through April.

What to do

Hiking trails access: Trails near Corral Pass Campground connect to the Rainier View Trail from the parking lot. "Total, almost creepy seclusion. We saw no animals either. A couple multi day trip backpackers came passing through," notes one visitor about the atmosphere of this remote area.

Riverfront activities: South Prairie Creek offers fishing opportunities within walking distance of camp. "The campground is quiet, except for the nearby construction. The staff is super friendly and accommodating," reports a camper about Gig Harbor RV Resort, which provides a convenient base for accessing nearby creeks and rivers.

Winter recreation: During snow season, proximity to Crystal Mountain ski area makes some locations busy. "Stayed here for the first time in July 2021. I understand this opened last winter. Talking to the host, I found out it is far more popular in winter when ski season is open," explains one camper about the seasonal traffic patterns.

What campers like

Natural settings: Pine forests create peaceful environments at many locations. "We love Tall Chief because it is super close to a lot of great spots around the Seattle region. It feels like you are deep in the PNW rainforest but you close to amenities and shopping," notes a visitor about the forested campground environment.

Clean facilities: Campgrounds receiving high ratings typically maintain excellent bathrooms and common areas. At Whispering Pines RV Campground, campers appreciate "immaculate and quiet except for the sound of I-90 in the background. Bathrooms are amazingly clean."

Spacious sites: Several parks offer larger campsites than urban campgrounds. "Great camp site for all sizes. Mostly no sewer. But if you enjoy a little distance between sites without sacrificing camp size line up here," comments a reviewer about comfortable spacing at Tall Chief Campground.

What you should know

Road conditions: Access to higher elevation camping requires navigating steep forest roads. "The drive up was rough, steep, and slick. I would never attempt with a trailer or even cab over camper. We took the tent and my Subaru Crosstrek up, took it slow and did just fine," cautions a visitor about reaching remote sites.

Cell service variability: Connectivity depends on terrain and tree coverage. "Another thing that can be annoying is trying to find a site with good cell reception due to all the trees. They definitely have a few, but I would say arrive early so you can drive by all the sites while checking to make sure you have good reception if you need it," advises a Tall Chief camper.

Reservation requirements: Popular RV parks near Greenwater fill quickly, especially on weekends. At Enumclaw Expo Center RV Park, "Very nice small park with basic amenities and large private or cramped sites based on what you choose and pay for. Some have fire rings."

Tips for camping with families

Playground access: Several campgrounds feature dedicated children's recreation areas. "The pool, miniature golf, playground and basketball were great. Laundry facilities came in handy," reports a family who extended their stay at Tall Chief Campground.

Swimming options: Look for campgrounds with pools during summer months. At Whispering Pines, one family noted it was "one of the nicest we have every been to. The campground was very clean, the spots were spacious and tons of things for the kids to do."

Activity planning: Campgrounds within 30 minutes of Greenwater provide varying levels of family amenities. Blue Sky RV Park offers "Mini golf basket ball court, lakes, bingo, free donuts and coffee showers are bug and clean price is fairly cheap" according to a visitor highlighting the family-friendly activities.

Tips from RVers

Sewer connections: Many campgrounds near Greenwater lack full hookups. At Tall Chief, a visitor advises: "No sewer connections which can be a bummer, but the nice bathrooms make up for it imo." Another camper shares a workaround: "Stayed 3 months for work, perfect beautiful, CHEEP CHEEP, not too good to be true, just right. All hook ups included. (Bring your dump tote!) easy easy easy dump station."

Electrical capacity: RV parks offer varying electrical service levels. At South Prairie Creek RV Park, full hookups including 50-amp service provide capacity for air conditioning during summer months, though one visitor noted: "I was a little disappointed in the bathrooms and service. Staff seemed annoyed when I asked for quarters which were necessary for laundry and showers."

Site leveling: Prepare for gravel pads at most RV parks Greenwater area. "Very nice pull throughs but small Resort," notes one RVer about spacing considerations when selecting a site, with most parks offering relatively level surfaces that require minimal adjustment for most rigs.
