Best RV Parks & Resorts near Deming, WA

Bellingham RV Park provides full hookups with water, sewer, and 50-amp electric service year-round on gravel pull-through sites designed for larger motorhomes. The Cedars RV Resort in Ferndale accommodates big rigs with pull-through sites separated by privacy hedges between camping spots. Norwest RV Park in Ferndale offers full-service RV sites with 50-amp hookups and level pads suitable for larger motorhomes and fifth wheels. Friday Creek Campground provides water and electric hookups on RV-compatible sites from May through November. Sites throughout the region vary considerably in size and privacy, with most parks featuring gravel pads rather than concrete. "The spots are level and the price is right, though spaces are small," noted one Norwest RV Park visitor.

Reservations are strongly recommended during summer months when parks throughout Whatcom County fill quickly. Most RV facilities in the area provide sanitary dump stations, though Friday Creek lacks this amenity while Bellingham RV Park, The Cedars Resort, and Thousand Trails Mount Vernon all offer on-site dump services. Several parks maintain convenient proximity to I-5 for easy access, though highway noise can be noticeable at locations like Thousand Trails Mount Vernon where one reviewer mentioned "the drawback is the proximity to I-5, but if you bring ear plugs it's okay." Pet policies vary between parks, with most allowing pets but enforcing leash requirements and designated pet areas. Winter camping options remain available at multiple parks that operate year-round, including Bellingham RV Park and The Cedars RV Resort, while Friday Creek closes seasonally from November through April.

    La Conner Marina RV Resort

    Decent Level Sites

Nice location conveniently located near the Marina, close to everything.

Premium sites are double wide and have a spot to park your RV AND Vehicle. Discount for Good Sam Club members.

Premium Sites $55 before discount (back-in only) Pull-through Sites $55 before discount Regular Back-in Site $45

All sites have Full Hookups, Picnic table & a minor grassed Area.

We stayed in a Premium site, enjoyed the view of the Fields behind us. Extremely quiet, open, not dusty. Downside, people don’t pick up after their Pets. We have two Shelties & think of others so we’re not the Culprits…

Otherwise, pleasant overall. Laundry accepts cards only which is extremely convenient since coins are hard to come by.

5G t-Mobile is 5-stars at our Site, it’s not listed as an option yet.

Hidden Village RV Park & Campground

Great price, very nice manager lady.

I rented a long term space here for over 2 years while working in Washington. Price was by far the best around. It's a very good sized place with spaces to accommodate even the largest trailers. Even when full there's room to maneuver.Full hookups, wifi, bathrooms, shower, laundry room, swimming pool. Has seperate parking for boats, utility trailers etc. Lots of big trees around for a fair amount of shade. Is pet friendly. Manager lady is very nice. Has a separate non power section for tents or dry camping. It's not the fanciest but for the price is great.

    Kayak Point County Park

Small woodsy campground with beach access

All campsites are surrounded by trees so choose carefully if you need a pull through or if you have a large rig that you’re trying to back up. We had a small camper van and it fit perfectly. Campsite is on a bluff above the beach, but you can’t see the sunset from the campground you would have to go down to the beach. Bathroom/shower is typical for a state or county campground - functional, but zero elegance. This one is a county campground and state or federal passes do not apply. Water and 30 amp electric at all sites except one tent site. Douglas squirrels are common and shy. Pets are welcome on leash.

    Washington Park Campground

    Anacortes Camping

Great medium size campground surrounded by saltwater, short trails, and grassy picnic areas. Great views of islands and sunsets. Boat launch with large paid parking area. Walking distance to Skyline Marina for a variety of ocean activities. We went on a whale tour and encountered atleast 10 Orcas. Campground can be muddy in some spots. Mostly reservations, 14 day in advance, but there a a few first come first serve sites. Some with water and electric. Motorhome, trailers and tents. Some spots looked like they could handle 40 foot rigs. A couple longer pull throughs. Very shelterd anthrough. Not much good for solar. Showers and restrooms.

Military Park Jim Creek Naval Radio Station Jim Creek Wilderness Recreation Area

    So much to do!

It had been 15 years at least since I'd been to Jim Creek. Since then, they've done some nice upgrades. The rv pads are double wide concrete pads about 50 feet long with full hook-ups. All sites include a fire pit, picnic table, and grill with ash bucket and grill cleaning brush. The rv park is close to the recreation office that has a little gift shop with snacks and drinks. This is also where you can rent equipment such as bikes, fishing poles, boats, etc. They also have a movie theater upstairs that operates on Saturday. This building has a 24 hour lounge with free wifi, TV, dvds, books, markers, coloring books, games, and other things for visitors to use. The wifi was only supposed to work inside the building, but I could pick it up in my campsite once or twice during our stay. Verizon cell service is very spotty. When I did pick it up, I only had one bar. There are several hiking trails and you can drive about 5 miles back to Twin Lakes to fish or just take a rented boat out or just enjoy the view. Jim Creek is a Naval Radio station and is for active duty military, retired, DoD, and reserves. There is a gate and you must show id to get in. Because of this and the base police roll through once or twice a day, I felt very safe compared to a state park or even a private campground. We camped Tuesday-Friday and even when it started filling up in Thursday, it was still super quiet at night. Quiet like not even bug sounds. That was wonderful.

    North Whidbey RV Park

Clean, well organized RV Park for big rigs

We called early afternoon and asked if they had a space for that night for a fifth wheel with total rig length 53ft. Nice grass around all the campsites, 50 Amp electricity, water and sewer. Picnic table at every site. Lovely location but it can be noisy due to proximity to road and navy jets. Overall a great place I will stay again.

    Rasar State Park Campground

    Spacious Getaway

We just spent two nights cold weather camping here. It’s a beautiful quiet park with very spacious lots. There is not a lot to do besides hiking, but if you are looking for peace and quiet in the woods, this might be the ticket.

    Riverfront RV Park

Inexpensive and great for a one night

30 amp sites with water. Dump station was not on site. No showers but clean bathrooms. Traveling with friends and we were the only 2 RVs there except for a campground host. The host helped our friends replace a pin on a slide out.

Newhalem Creek Campground — Ross Lake National Recreation Area

    Great NPS campground

General: Camping in three loops plus walk-in tent sites and a group site (closed when we were there). No hookups of any kind. I was surprised that we had such good cell coverage (Verizon) but am guessing the proximity to the town of Newhalem is why.

Site Quality: Nicely wooded with decent separation. Some were back in, and some were pull-through. All were level with a paved camper pad. The sites in Loops A and B have tent platforms (didn’t see them in Loop C); all have a fire pit (but there was a burn ban), a large picnic table, and a bear box.

Bathhouse: The one in the A loop was very clean. There are no showers. No paper towels or air dryer so make sure to bring your towel.

Activities: Daily programs at Visitor Center 12:30 and 4:00 pm. It is about a half-mile walk via the River Loop to get to the Visitor Center (farther from Loop C) where you can get information on hikes and there is a small store and interpretive center. The proximity of the Visitor Center was appreciated due to the recent fires and not knowing what was open and what was not. The River Loop is approximately 2 miles and is accessed between the A and B Loops. You can also hike to Ladder Creek Falls. The gardens have been neglected for some time, but the falls are worth it. (You can also drive to the town of Newhalem to get to the falls).

We have been in many National Park campgrounds that have been outsourced and have been disappointed, so we were very glad to find this one still maintained by the NPS and at a very reasonable rate ($12 with senior pass).

Guide to Deming

Whatcom County offers several RV campgrounds near Deming, Washington for campers seeking access to Mount Baker and the North Cascades. Located at approximately 500 feet elevation, the area experiences mild summers and wet winters with annual rainfall exceeding 40 inches. Most campgrounds remain open year-round, allowing visitors to experience the region's seasonal changes.

What to do

Explore forest trails: Thousand Trails Mount Vernon provides wooded sites with nearby hiking options. "I loved the forest here. It was a very wooded site. We took a day trip to the cascades," notes camper Jacob R.

Enjoy water activities: Kayaking and paddle boarding are popular at Beachside RV Park, located on Birch Bay. "Kayaking? That, too, of course," mentions Jan K., who appreciated the "unbelievably warm waters of the shallow Birch Bay just across the street."

Visit local towns: RV parks near Deming provide convenient bases for exploring nearby communities. "We were able to see some Canadian family in Blaine, while the border was closed, and stay nearby," shares Carlos M. about Beachside RV Park, noting the "great area with Birch Bay just across the street."

What campers like

Clean facilities: The Cedars RV Resort receives consistent praise for maintenance. "Best part is that the restrooms are clean and the showers are free. There is a store and a laundry also on site," mentions Toni J.

Private sites: Campers appreciate designated spaces that offer some separation. "I love the hedges between spots so you're not eating lunch at the table, staring at your neighbor's sewer hose and power box," writes Kathy A. about The Cedars RV Resort.

Waterfront access: Thousand Trails La Conner offers beach access that many visitors enjoy. "Beautiful campground. Near the water and shared by the local tribe. This is a very special place to stay," reports camper A M.

What you should know

Site differences: RV parks near Deming vary dramatically in site spacing and layout. "Phase 1 spots are so close you could very well 'spare a square' of TP to your neighbor. Phase 2 has a lot more room to spread out," explains Katie B. about Thousand Trails Birch Bay.

Tent camping limitations: Not all RV parks accommodate tent campers well. "If you are camping with a trailer or motorhome, this place is great but it is not for tent campers... just a big open grassy area with picnic tables and fire rings but no distinguishable separation between sites," warns Laura Beth N. about The Cedars RV Resort.

Shower costs: Budget for shower fees at some parks. Riverfront RV Park lacks showers entirely, while other campgrounds charge for shower use. "Showers are 50¢ for 3 minutes," notes SpentBrassOffroad B. about Beachside RV Park.

Tips for camping with families

Recreation options: Friday Creek Campground offers creek access that kids enjoy. "Creek in the backyard, nice and secluded... Great showers," reports Danielle M.

Pool availability: Several Deming area RV parks feature swimming pools for family entertainment. "Our nephews came to visit and enjoyed the pool and small nature trails around camp," shares Kathe M. about Birch Bay RV Campground.

Tips from RVers

Accessibility considerations: When choosing RV campgrounds in Deming, Washington, pay attention to road conditions. "All roads are gravel. Phase 1 are all straight back in and not angled," notes J C. about Birch Bay RV Campground.

Hook-up reliability: Always check what utilities are currently functioning. "Our last visit here there were many spaces where the electricity wasn't working and the dump station was out of order," warns jimsch71 about Thousand Trails La Conner.

Site size planning: Bellingham RV Park accommodates various RV sizes but has limitations. "Parking spots are pretty straight-forward, as it's just a lot for RVs. Advanced reservations are highly recommended," advises Brian C., adding that "sites are gravel pull-throughs with full hook-ups and include picnic tables."
