Best RV Parks & Resorts near Conway, WA

Conway offers several established RV campgrounds with hookup availability. Friday Creek Campground, open May through November, provides electric hookups and water at most sites, but lacks sewer connections. Mount Vernon RV Park features full hookup sites with water, electric, and sewer connections suitable for larger rigs. "Nice location conveniently located near the Marina, close to everything," shared one visitor about La Conner Marina RV Resort, where premium sites include double-wide pads to accommodate both RV and tow vehicle. Thousand Trails Mount Vernon operates year-round with big-rig friendly spaces that include 50-amp electrical service, though site privacy is minimal with limited natural buffers between neighbors.

Advance reservations are strongly recommended, particularly during summer months when coastal parks fill quickly. Most RV parks in the region allow pets with standard leash requirements, though some have weight restrictions or breed limitations. Cell service varies considerably, with better coverage at parks closer to Interstate 5 and more limited connectivity in locations near the Skagit River. Dump stations are available at select parks including Thousand Trails La Conner and North Whidbey RV Park, with some charging additional fees for non-guests. Many parks in the area feature gravel pads rather than concrete, which can become muddy during the typical Pacific Northwest rainy season between October and April.

    La Conner Marina RV Resort

    Decent Level Sites

Nice location conveniently located near the Marina, close to everything.

Premium sites are double wide and have a spot to park your RV AND Vehicle. Discount for Good Sam Club members.

Premium Sites $55 before discount (back-in only) Pull-through Sites $55 before discount Regular Back-in Site $45

All sites have Full Hookups, Picnic table & a minor grassed Area.

We stayed in a Premium site, enjoyed the view of the Fields behind us. Extremely quiet, open, not dusty. Downside, people don’t pick up after their Pets. We have two Shelties & think of others so we’re not the Culprits…

Otherwise, pleasant overall. Laundry accepts cards only which is extremely convenient since coins are hard to come by.

5G t-Mobile is 5-stars at our Site, it’s not listed as an option yet.

    North Sound Recreational Vehicle Park

    Simple Urban RV Park

This is very much an RV park and not really a campground. Seems like a clean little park, but right in the middle of Lynnwood, so if you are looking for a rural setting this isn't for you.

They offer weekly and monthly rentals, so this is more of a long-term sort of place.

    Website: Northsound RV Park

    Requirements from their site:

    • Your travel trailer must be year 2005 or newer
    • Pet friendly(limit 2) not to exceed 25 lbs. Aggressive breed restrictions apply.
    • No conversion vehicles - sorry van and bus life people
    • No trailers larger than 35' long, ideally.

Hidden Village RV Park & Campground

Great price, very nice manager lady.

I rented a long term space here for over 2 years while working in Washington. Price was by far the best around. It's a very good sized place with spaces to accommodate even the largest trailers. Even when full there's room to maneuver.Full hookups, wifi, bathrooms, shower, laundry room, swimming pool. Has seperate parking for boats, utility trailers etc. Lots of big trees around for a fair amount of shade. Is pet friendly. Manager lady is very nice. Has a separate non power section for tents or dry camping. It's not the fanciest but for the price is great.

    Kayak Point County Park

Small woodsy campground with beach access

All campsites are surrounded by trees so choose carefully if you need a pull through or if you have a large rig that you’re trying to back up. We had a small camper van and it fit perfectly. Campsite is on a bluff above the beach, but you can’t see the sunset from the campground you would have to go down to the beach. Bathroom/shower is typical for a state or county campground - functional, but zero elegance. This one is a county campground and state or federal passes do not apply. Water and 30 amp electric at all sites except one tent site. Douglas squirrels are common and shy. Pets are welcome on leash.

    Washington Park Campground

    Anacortes Camping

Great medium size campground surrounded by saltwater, short trails, and grassy picnic areas. Great views of islands and sunsets. Boat launch with large paid parking area. Walking distance to Skyline Marina for a variety of ocean activities. We went on a whale tour and encountered atleast 10 Orcas. Campground can be muddy in some spots. Mostly reservations, 14 day in advance, but there a a few first come first serve sites. Some with water and electric. Motorhome, trailers and tents. Some spots looked like they could handle 40 foot rigs. A couple longer pull throughs. Very shelterd anthrough. Not much good for solar. Showers and restrooms.

    Olympic Peninsula-Port Angeles KOA

    Peaceful, friendly, comfortable

We stayed 3 nights in a quiet site that backed to a farm field with cows. Nice and spacious sites, really a nice family-friendly and dog-friendly campground with nice scattered tree cover and landscaping. I could tell families come back to this one for getaways. Laundry and camp store with nice supplies. Great friendly staff. Would for sure stay here again en route to Olympic National Park.

    Cedar Glen RV Park

great long-term or quick on the way

There are several long term campers here. The grounds are kept immaculate and they regularly update the sites.  They hang wreaths for the winter holidays. Lawns mowed weekly.

All are level gravel. All have grass area, some with patio pad. There is a dog walk area and they are currently creating a dog fenced area at the end orf the two rows.

A caretaker is on site and will often help guide rigs into the sites (all are back-in).

Close to Poulsbo (a cute, Norwegian heritage town), Seattle ferry via Bainbridge Island and just over an hour to the Olympic National Park via the Hood Canal Bridge.

Military Park Jim Creek Naval Radio Station Jim Creek Wilderness Recreation Area

    So much to do!

It had been 15 years at least since I'd been to Jim Creek. Since then, they've done some nice upgrades. The rv pads are double wide concrete pads about 50 feet long with full hook-ups. All sites include a fire pit, picnic table, and grill with ash bucket and grill cleaning brush. The rv park is close to the recreation office that has a little gift shop with snacks and drinks. This is also where you can rent equipment such as bikes, fishing poles, boats, etc. They also have a movie theater upstairs that operates on Saturday. This building has a 24 hour lounge with free wifi, TV, dvds, books, markers, coloring books, games, and other things for visitors to use. The wifi was only supposed to work inside the building, but I could pick it up in my campsite once or twice during our stay. Verizon cell service is very spotty. When I did pick it up, I only had one bar. There are several hiking trails and you can drive about 5 miles back to Twin Lakes to fish or just take a rented boat out or just enjoy the view. Jim Creek is a Naval Radio station and is for active duty military, retired, DoD, and reserves. There is a gate and you must show id to get in. Because of this and the base police roll through once or twice a day, I felt very safe compared to a state park or even a private campground. We camped Tuesday-Friday and even when it started filling up in Thursday, it was still super quiet at night. Quiet like not even bug sounds. That was wonderful.

    Olympic Peninsula-Port Angeles KOA

One of the better KOA's I've seen

We usually travel with a pop-up camper and tend to prefer USFS campgrounds or dispersed camping. But we are currently travelling in a rented 30' RV during a holiday week, so we decided to give this KOA a try.

I was pleasantly surprised! We stayed in site 130 for 2 nights, and it was quiet and peaceful, despite the proximity to hwy 101. We arrived late at night and had no problem getting checked in and finding our assigned spot. We opted for a site with electric and water hookups. It had a picnic table and a fire ring, but we didn't get a chance to use them because we were constantly on the go. Our site was $63.99/night.

They have Wifi, which was a nice feature that we weren't expecting. There is a picnic pavilion, horseshoes, tetherball, a swimming pool, a playground, a game room, and these really cool looking big wheel things that you can rent for $5/30 minutes. There is also a nice little general store that offers most things a camper could need. The folks who work there are very friendly and helpful. They offer free showers and a sink with hot water for washing dishes also. There is a large laundry room, but we didn't use it. We refilled on water and propane and we used their dump station before we left.

Overall, this KOA was clean and quiet and offered many amenities. I definitely recommend it if you're looking for "camping" with all the luxuries of home.

Guide to Conway

The Conway area provides campers with a variety of RV campgrounds in northwest Washington, with sites situated along rivers, lakeshores, and coastal areas. Located in Skagit County between Mount Vernon and Stanwood, this region experiences mild summers with average temperatures between 65-75°F and wet winters with 40-50 inches of annual rainfall. Most campgrounds remain muddy from late fall through early spring, particularly in unpaved areas.

What to do

Beach exploration near La Conner: Thousand Trails La Conner offers water access with scenic sunset spots. "The walks to 'Lone Tree' at sunset are amazing. The hosts are ALWAYS so friendly!" notes kimberly W., who visits regularly.

Naval aircraft viewing: When staying at Cliffside RV Park - Military on Whidbey Island, you'll experience military aircraft overhead. "Air force planes fly right above so it can be noisy (but also exciting) when they are flying by," explains Emma A. The park requires military ID for entry but rewards visitors with unique aviation displays.

Lakefront water activities: Cedar Grove Shores RV Park provides direct lake access for swimming and small watercraft. "RV Park for all size trailers... near a small gas station called The Lake Goodwin Store and a Restaurant Pub called The Paddle Pub that has a Cafe next door which sells espresso, icecream and pastries," reports Natalie W.

What campers like

Private creek settings: Friday Creek Campground offers waterfront sites with natural features. Danielle M. appreciates that her site has a "Creek in the backyard, nice and secluded. Do have to bring tote up to location. Great showers."

Convenient location for ferry access: Campers appreciate the proximity to transportation connections. Kate K. notes that Friday Creek Campground offers "benefits of this spot are the facilities and the 15 minute drive to the ferry terminal. Super conveneient. Only open May-Oct!"

Well-maintained grounds: Thousand Trails Mount Vernon earns praise for its spacious layout. "All the power poles, water, sewer hookups all look in good order. A few sites are reserved with a permanent sign, for RV's larger than 35' which is nice," according to Linda O., who stayed for an extended period.

What you should know

Seasonal water issues: Several campgrounds face water management challenges. At Thousand Trails La Conner, infrastructure problems can occur: "June 2023 dump stations and all campsite sewer hookups are down for maintenance. Nearest offsite dumps are 10 miles away," warns John M.

Maintenance concerns: Some campgrounds show signs of neglect. Michael G. observes, "I counted more than a dozen closed sites. Some of these sites had been closed for a long time. Potholes and ruts in the road made travel unpleasant but the pools of water (and mud) really stood out" at Thousand Trails La Conner.

Site conditions vary: Privacy levels differ across parks. At Thousand Trails Mount Vernon, "There are some sites that are leased and a few of those are in a very neglected state. Most sites have a lot of pine trees so are very shaded," according to Linda O.

Tips for camping with families

Check for kid-friendly amenities: North Whidbey RV Park offers both RV spots and cabin rentals. One camper reports, "We spent the weekend here with my sister and her family who rented one of the cabins at the RV Park. The cabin was very simple, clean and had a well-stocked kitchen."

Find less crowded hiking trails: Families can discover quieter outdoor experiences. At North Whidbey RV Park, a camper shares: "If you venture right (directionally) out of the driveway from the RV Park, you'll find the Cornet Bay side of the state park that offers quieter, lesser crowded trails and a different view of the bridge."

Consider resort-style options: Town and Country Motorcoach and RV Resort offers upscale amenities. Travis H. notes, "Very friendly host and security guard met us on our arrival. Place is brand new. Facility is more like a 3 or 4 star hotel. First time I was ever given a cookie at check in or where there were massage rooms available in the spa."

Tips from RVers

Check campground rules carefully: Riverfront RV Park has specific policies. "They are very rule oriented so read the rules," warns Phyllis K. about the Mount Vernon campground area. Gate closure times and check-in procedures can vary significantly between parks.

Verify site leveling before arrival: RV sites can be challenging in older parks. At North Whidbey RV Park, a camper notes they were "in RV spot C-22 and it was quite a tight and unlevel location. The pavement on the grounds is not in great condition with lots of bumps and ditches."

Consider connectivity needs: Campgrounds in the Conway area vary widely in internet access. At Mount Vernon RV Campground, one camper warns: "If you need wifi to plan your next days this location is not for you. Wifi available at the lodge only and very slow."
