Most Amazing Weekend!

This past weekend was absolutely wonderful!! The park ranger was super nice and helpful and the campground was one of the best we have been to yet. We highly recommend this campground.

Hidden Gem

We stayed at Wilderness Adventure for one night in “The Meadow”. We stayed a Saturday night and got to enjoy live music, and tasty beers! The staff was incredibly hospitable, and the grounds were so fun to explore. If you’re up for a fun hike, take the Outerspace trail up to “The Bluff” and enjoy…

Fun Hike, easy parking

This was a fine place to park overnight. The trailhead connects to the Appalachian Trail, so there were several other cars parked overnight as well. It is a gravel lot, pretty level. There is a little road noise until about 1030 PM. Pretty little creek runs by the gravel lot, and there are also…

Nice spot but it’s a party zone

Lake Moomaw is nice though it has the distinctive bathtub ring of a reservoir. We had a “premium” campsite in loop 1 that was right off the water, which was very nice. The bathrooms in the main loop with showers were nice and clean, the pit toilet on the premium sites had a bad fly problem.

The…

Friendly place

Camped out for one night, great place. Owners are real friendly, they have a store as well. The trains though! My dog did not appreciate them, but overall nice place.

Small secluded campground

Less than 10 campsites situated in a small creek/canyon away fro the main park. Great for seclusion. Good tree cover. Pitted toilets, pay for showed down the road at the ranger station, hand pumped water on site. It was raining most of my stay so I was not able to full experience the attractions…

Beautiful scenery

Lovely campground. Not too noisy and gorgeous nature. Campsite 2 is across the path from the check in point and you are quite on display but on the other hand you have WiFi signal and are close to water and perfect distance from the campground.

Firewood and ice is available for purchase and there…

Dead fish...

I didn't really enjoy this campsite, they have a pool, that was packed with kids and people, they also have a man-made lake, but we saw all sorts of dead fish in it. It was gross, some of the other campers said it was normal for the campground to have dead fish and dead snakes in the lake. Anyway,…

Greta location, rustic campground

A very quiet campground in a great location. We were in an electric only site in Loop C. Water is filled at the faucet by the bath house and easy enough to do with a long hose. The bathrooms were fairly clean, but we were forgiving knowing the camp hosts were in short supply and working very hard.…

Not easy but well worth it

I camped here 3 times, the hike up is brutal but the top is absolutely worth it. This most recent time camping we discovered that apparently TECHNICALLY camping isn’t allowed anymore, but the fire pit and tent areas still seem in use and I really doubt someone would hike up there to tell you to…

Perfect lake camping

Our spot was right there on the water, there are bathrooms at the top of the hill. Campsites are drive up and can fit 2 vehicles. The spot also has a fire ring and picnic tables.

I didn’t have cell service and you are pretty close to a lot of other people and RVs, but still a great spot.

Camping on the Greenbrier River

The Greenbrier River RV Park campground was fine. It was right on the Greenbrier River and you could do float, kayak and canoe trips from the campground. There were full hook-up sites and tent sites (right on the river). The sites were pretty big and most were shaded. It was close (less than 15…

Peaceful remote camping

Unexpectedly found this site after planning on doing some primitive camping off the road. There's 2 sites that I saw on the road with pits.

There's access to the App Trail on the road so you might see some hikers but it was real quiet otherwise. Pretty nice scenery (you're smack in the middle of…

New and clean. No shade

Campground is very new and bath facilities are immaculate. No shade at sites (hot July day).

Restaurant (Brewpub) is only open fridays and saturdays which was disappointing. Tried to swim at the river but it was trashy.

Staff was great, and would probably come again in the fall or early…
