Description

Yonder was created out of a desire to go back in time. Back to when things were simpler, quality was a given and vacation was an adventure. Yonder Escalante is the embodiment of the best of The American Experience in a place that is as familiar as it is unique. Located near Bryce Canyon National Park and within Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, on the grounds of an old Drive-In movie theater, Yonder borders some of America’s most beautiful places and provides its guests the luxury of experiencing the American West in a way that will always be remembered. Enjoy the Yonder experience in the comfort of your own RV, van or camper. The property is equipped with 67 pull-in RV sites with a variety of hook-up options available. Full amenities, shower and laundry facilities are available to all RV guests. Breakfast not included in the booking fee, but available for purchase at time of check-in. Our custom designed Cabins provide the perfect spot for guests looking for an elevated camping experience. With comfortable bedding, a private living area and vast views of the park, a Cabin is the perfect space to get relaxed and reflect. (Accommodates up to three guests.) Inspired by the great American road trip, ten vintage Airstreams have been transformed into luxe living quarters. The interiors create a nostalgic throwback to the form and beauty of midcentury design complimented by vintage furniture curated for each room. Each Airstream has a different combination of cooking, dining, sleeping and recreational features including state of the art HVAC and a comfort level and quality not found in factory offerings.

Quite a gem in pretty much the middle of nowhere

We have a 36’ Class A with a Cherokee Trailhawk tow and stayed in site 45 for 4 days in early May. The sites have typical spacing for a private CG, but most are decently sized and angled so you’re not looking in your neighbor’s windows. The CG has made more changes since our last visit 2 years ago, including new deluxe cabins that are nearly finished. The West bathhouse has open air showers(in season), which is a really nice touch. They’re covered in plexiglass in the colder months. The bathhouses are the nicest we’ve seen most anywhere, not just at a campground. The office/lodge building has a nice covered outdoor area with two large gas fire pits, free coffee, fruit and muffins in the morning if you’re so inclined. They also have a“drive-in” theater with vintage cars you can sit in to watch the movies that are shown Thursday-Sunday and free popcorn too. The staff is awesome, very friendly, helpful and very communicative. They even sell a few Dinner Kits and several Cocktail Kits(except on Sundays& holidays- Utah Laws).

AT&T coverage was good, with 3 Bars of LTE service and speeds up to about 10 MB/s. There were few tall trees, so we were able to get DISH coverage on all three western satellites at our site. We didn’t use the CG WiFi as we had an unobstructed view to the North and so had great Starlink coverage, with speeds up to 17 MB/s. We didn’t try the OTA antenna this time, but had 37 OTA channels last visit with our fixed omni antenna.

No issues with sewer, though it was a little challenging to get the sewer elbow in tight, as the receptacle was somewhat recessed and a fair distance from our black tank.

Social Media Friendly Design Isn’t Enough at These Prices

The campground is spacious, has elements that are decorated in the latest chic, and has a spacious pool but with prices double or even triple those of other campgrounds ($150/night!!), the views and amenities were not SO amazing as to justify the splurge - especially when you’re still just off the road. Add in a “hot tub” that was generously speaking a tepid tub and it all leaves something to be desired - again, as compared to the cost.

Staff were amazing and, as others mentioned, the breakfast food truck is a great feature - just wish it were open beyond breakfast.

Great Campground!

This is a fun campground. Very few people were there. The campsites are a bit close.
The bathrooms are spa quality. The outdoor showers are very nice. They show a movie every night on an outdoor screen. Everyone who works there were very accommodating. Each site is a full hookup. Trash cans are throughout the campground. Each site has a fire ring.

Quite a gem in pretty much the middle of nowhere

We have a 36’ Class A with a Cherokee Trailhawk tow and stayed in site 45 for 4 days in early June. The CG is under new ownership and they have done a lot of facility upgrades- new cabins, office/lodge, and bathhouses, one with open air showers that were really nice. The bathhouses are the nicest we’ve seen most anywhere, not just a campground. The office/lodge building has a nice covered outdoor area with two large gas fire pits, free coffee, fruit and muffins in the morning if you’re so inclined. The staff is awesome, very friendly, helpful and very communicative. They even sell a few Dinner Kits and several Cocktail Kits(except on Sundays& holidays- Utah Laws). The cucumber jalapeño was particularly tasty. Everything is dirt and gravel like most of this part of the country, so on windy days, as most are, the wind and vehicles do kick up bit of dust. The WiFi was fine on the weekend(up to 2MB/s), when the CG was not very busy, but during the week or when crowded, it was barely usable (generally <100KB/s, but usually <50KB/s). AT&T coverage was good, with 2-3 Bars of LTE service and speeds up to about 8 MB/s. There were few tall trees, so we were able to get DISH coverage on all three western satellites at our site. There were also 37 OTA channels to be had with our fixed omni antenna.

No less than a 5 star hotel

This was probably the best RV resort that I have stayed in by a huge margin. Everything is brand new and sparkly, they have an amazing lounge and a drive in theater

New name, new ownership

This spot is now owned by Yonder Escalante. They are opening this fall, 2020. We were able to check out the grounds as we drove through Scenic Byway 12. It’s a very convenient location along the highway, close to the towns of Escalante and Boulder. Great proximity to Grand Staircase Canyons unit, Bryce Canyon NP and Capitol Reef NP. The grounds have cabins and renovated Airstreams for rent as well as RV sites to “bring your own.” They’re building lots of amenities like a hot tub, pool, clubhouse, movie nights, breakfast offerings and (hopefully) powerful wifi. They were in the midst of building the clubhouse as we poked around. It looks like an awesome new addition to the area. “Hipster camping” might be a good term for it, but I’m into the vibe, 100%... looking forward to staying here once they open!
