Getting to Sand Cove requires a 4x4 vehicle, and low-range four-wheel drive is strongly recommended for the steepest sections of the rough access road. Free and dispersed, this BLM site sits tucked against a mountain wall, which provides shade and keeps temperatures cooler overnight. One known hazard: reviewers have reported scattered nails near the base of the rock face, so footwear and tire caution are warranted. Cell service is available. The site works best for self-sufficient campers comfortable with remote, unimproved conditions and no on-site services. For more options in the region, see camping near BLM Land — St. George Field Office.
